I should inform you guys of one thing. I've only recently been invited for a 4-day camping vacation with some friends of mine, and thus I will probably not be active during monday to thursday. Over the weekend I will continue to "enhance" what will soon be the role-play by adding stuff, working on the star-chart (map), and making up formats and regulations for battles, trades, etcetera. Or it could all be role-play, or a mix of both rules and role-play, but I don't know. Whatever you'd like, just list it below in this thread; its what it is here for, after all! :)

I will probably post the actual NRP thread sometime late thursday or friday, at the latest. I didn't want you guys to think I was going inactive, and I don't want you guys to wait too long! Sorry for the long wait, but it wouldn't make sense for me to post the thread tomorrow or sunday only to be interrupted by the camping vacation.

Long story short; I won't be online from Monday until Thursday due to a 'vacation of sorts', however the role-play should be up late-Thursday and at the very latest, Friday. Thanks! :)

But could you leave us with a nation sheet to work with? We could get started on concepting our nations while your gone. Just to get in the right frame of reference of how we want to interact with eachother.

Likely I'll be pulling out the Ka again from Stardust (the rp whose absent GM partially caused this rp to be ;p)

Sure! I'll start working on a template for a nation sheet, and I'll have it up before I go camping. This way, like you guys said, you'll be able to work on developing your nation and looking at interactions and stuff. Should I post a new thread for it, or just leave the template here?

Hm, okay. Let my put my first nation concept up here.

My nation is called "The Eudaimonia Foundation", a highly advanced association of worlds and city-ships in the style of the Culture that want to make peace, party, help out minor socities, and explore the rest of the galaxy before its too late to miss out on what hasn't been discovered. Meanwhile they are also looking into what to do after the galaxy snuffs out. Traveling to another galaxy or building new stars are seriously being considered.

Most of the Foundation are made of augmented individuals, predominantly humanoids. Cybernetic, biologic, and nanotech augmentation are common and used by everyday citizens. Even body-swapping between clones or mechanical bodies is available at a affordable level. Life on Foundation worlds is comfortable and highly-automated, if not outright luxurious, for even common citizens. While they do have the capability to become a complete post-scarcity society, its a social decision to only make the basic necessities of life free and ubiquitous. To obtain higher luxuries and status, one has to contribute to the Foundation in some way in a creative or cultural method. Exploration, discovery, roleplay, creative arts, and diplomacy are common methods. More than a few worlds and city-ships of the Foundation adhere to a "theme" that its citizens have to conform or adapt to as "rent" for their comforts, which outsiders might find odd but Eudaimonians think is a hoot and what makes different worlds unique and fun.

In general, the Foundation doesn't want to get involved in wars or conflicts, and tries to position itself as a neutral diplomatic ground for foreign affairs/ tourist resort. In practice though, theres a number of Foundation explorer groups willing to hire themselves out as mercenaries for thrills, money, or desire for violence. And the Foundation does retain the industrial and technological capability (although not much desire) for large-scale warfare if absolutely necessary. However they prefer to absorb minor societies they meet with culture and trade rather than with force.

Well my concept nation is the "Alluminatic Combine". The combine mainly composes of the "Allorisian" race. They came to the current galaxy they are now inhabiting after escaping their old home world because of a natural calamity. After thousands of years in space in stasis, their bodies have weakened to the state that a forceful punch would kill them. To make matters worst, most of the data archieves in their ship was damaged causing much of their information to be lost. Their entire civilization had to start from scratch and rebuild. After several hundreds of years, the future generation of Allorisians had more resiliant bodies but were still very fragile. It didn't take long for the Allorisians to regain lost knowledge. They had the capability of inter-planetary travel. Colonies soon began to be built on other worlds and younger races were soon enslaved. The Allorisians began building a massive empire for their own. They then met other races with the same technological advancement as they did. This other races would not be allowed to interfere with the interest of the Allorisians and war broke out. The Allorisians fought brutal wars for planets and stars. They enslaved prisoners of war and used them in inhummane task. The Allorisians also began developing weapons that would destroy their rivals as efficiently as possible. Working tirelessly and with ethics unbounded to them, the Allorisians created the X4-001 virus better known as the "Black Tide". During one of their desperate defences, they used the virus on the enemy and found that the virus was effective.... on them. The frail anti-bodies of the Allorisians were no match for the monster they had created and it almost whipped out their entire race.

The new Allorisian government, the Alluminatic Combine, seeks to redeem itself in the eyes of its neighbors before old hatred sparks up and another war is started. The Combine also has the task of reuniting the old worlds it once had after all communications broke down from them after the wars. The new government will do whatever it takes to unite the Allorisian race again but without bloodshed if possible. Negotiations with ancient enemies are also planned by the combine to ease tensions between them. This could all be a genuine act of retribution by the new Allorisian government or a ploy to distract their neighbors while they lick their wounds. Only time will tell what the true intentions of the Combine is.

The Ka

The Ka is one, the Ka are many but all work towards the common goal: survival.
The Ka are a synthetic race that roam the galaxy in search of resources to fuel their ever expanding collective. Unlike other species, Ka do not have any sense of individuality or even a concept of death. Ka are essentially billions upon billions of computer programs, all working together as one. Their ships, resource gatherers and soldiers are all mobile platforms within which these programs operate.
While the processing power of the Ka collective mind is almost unfathomable, they are sadly extremely uncreative. All their ships, stations and other designs have been based off of others. Sometimes different designs are combined or improved upon after new data has been gathered but the Ka have never created even a single original design themselves.
Aside from one single permanently occupied system known as ‘the shrine’, the Ka are a mobile civilisation. Their so called ‘collectors’ travel around the galaxy in search of resources to further the expansion of the entire collective. This can be minerals to build new ships but also new technologies they can use. To this end, no holds are barred. Advanced organic civilisations, great or small are all targets to mine for resources and like everything else, to be discarded when depleted. They only make exceptions for pre space age civilisations, having learned that such creatures are better left undisturbed and uninformed until they can come up with enough ideas to steal.

The history of the Ka is long but sadly, not much is remembered. They were created at one point in time, likely many centuries or even millennia ago by an unknown and long since vanished creator. The Ka do commemorate their creator by having a world spanning shrine in his, her, or their honour. This shrine can be considered the Ka’s homeworld and is likely the site of their creation. The planet itself is mostly covered by immense projects of Ka made artificial landscapes to mimic the world as it once was in the times of the creator. In order to maintain these artificial ecosystems, the Ka have built thousands of monitoring and maintenance stations on the planet as well as in orbit.

The Arae Tri-Hegemony, is an isolationist and divided "nation". The Hegemonies operate on a council of consuls elected by the hegemons to speak for them and relay the demands and deals from each other without the threat of the leaders themselves being assassinated. Throughout their history, they have met, spoken, and being divided by the roiling conflicts that have always erupted. The Hegemonies are not only divided by their nationalities, but also of species. Though they have had prolonged contact a conflict early on in their histories shoved distrust of their cousins into their minds even to this late day in their history. The three species are the Arae Dicon [People of the South], Arae Ghanid [People of the North], and Arae Erindi [People of the Sky]. Though the names are spoken in a singular trade language this has not supplanted the individual languages of the Hegemonies.

The entrance of the Arae onto the galactic stage was one of conquest, blood shed, and exploitation of the lesser races around them, and the empty worlds they could use for their own goals. This led to quick conflicts with the other empires, and nations around them. Some of these held, others were engulfed in conflict with the Arae, while still others were destroyed in the spilling over of conflicts between the Hegemons' fleets and armies.

In this late day in the history of the galaxy, they find themselves as violent to themselves and those they do not see as worthy rivals, but running low on resources from their exploitative policies to gain footholds into the future against each other and the outsiders. This has led to the Tri-Hegemony having to reassess their ways of dealing with the outside nations in order to make sure they do not blink out against one another.

Species: The Imperium

Home-World: Planet One

Description: The Imperium are a race controlled by the ever watching eye of its government. 1984-esque methods are used to keep the populace in check, obeying the strict laws of the government and ensuring that everything runs
smoothly. Everyone is happy in The Imperium race because everyone who doesnt pretend to be happy is taken away, never to be seen by family or friends again.

Appearance:

4 feet in hegiht, Nimble and speedy but with weak muscles.

Coming of Age: 14 years old
Coming of Age Rite: Exam to decide what there job will be. Depending on job they will continue to further education or begin work.

Marriage: Marriage must have government approval. Marriage is for reproduction puposes only.

Outsiders: The government is open to beneficial trading agreements aslong as other races do not attempt to influence The Imperium's

Rulers: The ruling body of The Imperiums is 'The Government' the public speaker of 'The Government' is 'Mr White' whos identity is never revealed. He has always ruled and is shown to be immortal to the general public.
In actuality Mr White is fictional and just an embodiment of all government representatives.

Military: Due to The Imperium's small stature (4 feet in height). Technology is used to compensate. The Imperium Military and police force ride in mechs which enhance there speed and strength.
Although bulky, the suits are tough armour plated and provide sufficient firepower.
