Any way to find old threads from before the shutdown, and bring them back?

Or even access a cached copy of the old site?

Try using google's cache. If you're in Chrome, and you have a direct link to the page you want, type "cache:" and then paste the link and it'll take you to a cached page, if it exists. If you're not using chrome, or if that doesn't work right, you'll have to look up how to do it.

Have all of the old threads been lost permanently? I don't know anything about the cached thing, and will that even allow you to go through all of the pages of your old threads?

The best way to find stuff if you're not using chrome (see burntbacon8r's post above for that) is by googling: "site:roleplayerguild.com" followed by whatever key words you need to find the stuff you wanted (i.e. Thread title) or putting a direct link into google. What you then need to do is find the result you want and press the little green down arrow next to it and then choose "cached". This will open the cached version of this page and allow you to copy stuff off there.

Unfortunately you cannot navigate between pages using this method, you have to go back to google and do the same thing on every page you want to open.

Uh I tried the above method and it works just...couldn't find my OP which is all I need. I went through every page I could find (not all were there) but yeah no Page 1 T^T sucks so badly...I REALLY need it >.< has everything...now I realize the only downfall of having so many pages >.<

But yeah...above method works O.o so try it and you may be luckier than me xD

Give the way back machine a try, it helped me recover most of my lost CS's and Interest Checks

Edit--
For ease of reference, remember to save the pages you found as htm webpage complete files. Which can be done using the CTRL+S combo on Windows machines.

This is a foundation which makes imprints of pages which might allow you to restore some of the old threads, for example TJA's first page OOC is there. Also there is a possibility that they safe whole sites but for that Mahz the creator of RPG would need to contact the ones behind the previosly linked project.

On Firefox, the local cache can be accessed with typing about:cache in the address bar.

I tried doing all of that and it won't work for me. Sucks majorly. Hope they manage to get them back soon and have them up the easier way XD

if u have google chrome, or use the Bing browser, type in "cache:(link of desired page)" .....it wont come up guaranteed, but if the page was screenshotted/cached, then it will appear in the results.. hope this helps! <3 I found one of my RPs this way :) with the help of my LoneSilverWolf<3 :DDD he is my best friend ^^

You appear to be operating under the assumption that the old threads will be restored to RPG somehow. They won't. All the data was lost due to the previous server host deleting it after a single missed payment (which is a major dick move, but no use crying over spilled milk), so it's gone forever unless you can find it through archive.org or search engine cached pages. It sucks, but that's life for you.

I've successful found the majority of my old threads via google cache, but all are missing the first page which is the most important page.....
