Well, I realize my obvious stupidity, and so, if we take in the influence of magic, and disregard most inventions in our world, there you go. A small glass box that can create flames? probably would exist in this world. Long story short, if your unsure about something existing, just run it by me.

it looks more like a boarding school, which were kind of a thing in the middle ages. Children would be sent to study with clergymen or as pages in important households. Doesn't change that if the GM is gonna go "You can't have this thing because it wasn't in the middle ages", then he should be prepared to have things which aren't from the middle ages pointed out to him. This wasn't quite the case, but it can happen.

University is a closer approximation to what we are at in the RP imo.

You see the #history on the end?

That takes you to the relevant section: History.

The first sentence.

>The practice of sending children to other families or to schools so that they could learn together is of very long standing, recorded in classical literature and in UK records going back over a thousand years.

A few sentences down:

>The school often considered the world's oldest boarding school, The King’s School, Canterbury, counts the development of the monastery school in around 597 AD to be the date of the school's founding.

As in, no, the GM isn't throwing in a concept that's past the middle ages this time around, but yes, he should be prepared for people pointing out that X or Y in his setting aren't medievally accurate if he's going to point out that A or B aren't medievally accurate when people try to use them for their posts. Comprende?

It's actually conformation. He wants it Medieval, we make it medieval. Retribution, would be translating every post into Ol' English, or french, of Scandinavian, or Celtic.

It still remains retribution, however, because retribution isn't measured in severity.

Alright, I am not a fan of argument in the OOC, which I consider fighting, so I would like you all to stop.
I am going for a medieval fantasy setting, yes, but that does not mean we have to be 100% accurate. I was just trying to prevent things that seemed way too out of place from being in the RP, and obviously, my stupidity got out of hand. Trial and error, people, I am not the worlds greatest GM. It is good to throw suggestions at me, it is not good to argue over what should and shouldn't be done with the RP.

It looks like Background is having issues IRL, and hasn't been posting for a while, so if BR isn't back by tomorrow, I will probably have to have a replacement.

I also wanted to mention that Maya is in full armor now, so it will be pretty hard to tell she's a woman unless she speaks

Name: Buju Vendaval
Age: 19
Gender: M

Appearance: Wear as a white trench coat that's honestly a bit greyish from the wear and tear. He's above average in height and has black scraggly hair and browned skin. Underneath the trench coat is a mauve colored shirt that he wears without said coat when doing his ccooking. He also wears a long red scarf that was gifted to him by Charlotte that's just long enough to billow dramatically in the wind without getting caught on stuff.

Personality: Remorseful at his failure in both preventing the curse and fixing it as well as dutiful. Passionate about his craft and his current duty of breaking the curse. Is mostly calm if a a bit annoyed about the whole above and when pissed.

Equipment: Red scarf, metal tube with heat discoloration, twin swords reminiscent of crescent moons.

History: Hailing form a far away land known to heat and humidity and great cooking. He was but a vagrant traveler belonging to a martial order also renowned for their cooking skills. He would have continued to aimlessly drift around the world like a cottonwood seed in the wind. A chance encounter in a village up way north with the daughter of a glassblower changed things. After an incident that got her to stop miming they became friends as his stay in this village extended. Days to turned to weeks in which they soon turned to months as their relationship quickly advanced to romantic feelings. However their days together were to be changed after the incident with the gypsy curse. They arrived at the academy after prior fruitless efforts to break the curse in a last ditch effort to free her.

Paired with: Adrienne de Miroir
Emotional bond description: romantic love

Artifact(Knight only): Armor Yarikh : The Moon
Artifact description/pic: It is a silvery suit of armor that alternates between a mirror's sheen of polish and a rougher texture of raised engravings over various parts. There is a belt with stylised shapes resembling the lunar cycles as well as as the helm has a sideways golden visor made of some strange material that is where he sees from. Running through the armor are strange little lines that glow a pale almost ghostly blue.

Name: Adrienne de Miroir
Age: 17
Gender: F
Personality: Adrienne has always been a prankster at heart, and her curse has done little to change this. She also holds a firm belief in existentialist philosophy.
Disabilities: Because of a gypsy curse she's trapped in some kind of crazy mirror dimension and can only see through and be seen in mirrors. She can emerge up to about her navel, but no further, and if the reflection is seriously disrupted she's shunted back into the mirror zone.
Equipment: A mime costume and beret that never seems to fade, tear, become dirty, or otherwise decay; a set of tarot cards; a paintbrush; a pot of paint that never runs dry (though anything she paints does fade after a few minutes or hours, depending on how much she uses); a pack of cigarettes that never runs out; a bottle of wine that never runs dry
History: Adrienne was a normal girl in a normal household in a normal town in a small fiefdom, daughter of a glassblower who was always interested in mirrors. One day, she smashed her face into a mirror on accident. This amazed her so much that she decided to become a living mirror. Well, okay, actually she just really liked pulling pranks and, as a fool, she had free license to do so.
She had been a mime for two years when she met Buju, and they soon became friends, then close friends, then a couple. Things were looking up until one day Adrienne pranked a traveling gypsy, who then cursed her, trapping Adrienne on the other side of the mirror. In hopes of breaking this, her and her lover signed on with the academy in hopes of finding a solution.
Paired with: Buju Vendaval
Emotional bond description: Star-crossed love
Preferred element: Fire
Casting style: Short
Other: -She is a fairly talented mime, which comes in handy; while she can hear things on the other side of the mirror, others cannot hear her.
-Her mime makeup? Tattooed on as part of her initiation to mimehood.
-She is a skilled traceuse.
-'mirror' in this case means any given reflective surface, such as polished metal and still pools of water.
