If they are ranged, I equip melee only. If they are melee, archer or unequip. In Awakening, I almost watched Libra kill Tharja Dx So watch the NPC's too!

I usually just fling an archer forward (_sorry, man_), but lately I've just been unequipping the character with the most def or res and tossing them into range. ...Like some kind of poor, sacrificial lamb. And alas @ TheWindel! :'DD Next time!
