Basic rundown: It's the future. Humans still live on earth, but have expanded to the moon, and several massive space stations. No further, however, than that. Most governments have been dissolved in favor of a singular race-wide Democratic Monarchy. (Kings of Queens elected by the people. They hold all the power of your average medieval king, but the people -can- vote to overrule them, or remove them from the throne.) For the most part, people are happy with this. Most modern-day issues are resolved- LGBT community is considered as normal as straight people, average lifespan remains about the same, though people stay healthy longer into those years, the ridiculous number of different money types have been turned into one global "Credits" scale. Things of that general nature. Medicine has advanced, weaponry is at battery-powered levels. (For instance, a pistol would run on energy clips.) We aren't talking star-wars type laser beams, though. Think more along the lines of Mass Effect, if you've played that game. XD The second and third games, though, rather than the first. Love all three, like the weapons system in the latter two more. Anyhow, like any system, while it is generally accepted there -are- people who fight against it. And there are people who fight for it. We would be playing as either "The New Templars", more or less the royal elite military, or "The Free Men", a group of anarchists fighters. Unlike the usual rebel group, the free men are actually large, well funded, well armed, and dangerous. Not -as- large or well funded as the New Templars, but close enough that the war between them has been long. Very long. The Free Men inhabit several Lunar colonies, as well as a single Space Station. They come in at approximately three billion people between the station, the colonies, and the followers still on Earth, only a third of that number making up their effective military force- However, it's a -very- effective third. The World Monarchy holds its numbers at closer to five billion among Earth, the other stations, and the Moon, two and a half billion of those making up their effective military. However, despite the number differences, the war has been pretty back and forth, neither side gaining or losing much over the past century. As I said, we would be playing as members of the military of -either side- of this war. More specifically, members of the two most well known task forces of each- The Grand Knights of the New Templars, or The Beacons of The Free Men. Each force is made up of a hundred or so of the best of the best among each military, split into a good number of individual fireteams. Certain fireteams from each group have longstanding rivalries between each other. We'll be in two such teams. Said teams number from two to six people, so depending on how many people we get to join, we'll see about the team sizes. XD The plot and such things will be figured out once I have some interest. But know that it will generally be action packed and full of badass, plenty of character development, and general fun.

I am interested, definitely. Probably in a leadership position for the New Templars fire team. Silly question here, but do New Templars have a medieval/Science Fiction hybrid theme? I'm so freaking sold on that sort of thing like you wouldn't even believe.

Good question! One I'm happy to answer, both for you and for garnering further interest! :P Right, so. The Templar's of old were a highly religious group, fighting for god, yadda yadda whathaveyou. The New Templars aren't going to be an extremely religious group, but they will be exceedingly traditional, at least the elite knights will be. Each Knight of the New Templars will be extensively trained not only in hand to hand, stealth, marksmanship, and engineering, but also have heavy training in -Swordplay-! That's right. We'll be using bloody broadswords if people get too close! Longswords. Greatswords. Shortswords. Take your pick, they'll be trained with multiple blade choices. As will the Beacon's of the Free Men, specifically to combat the Grand Knights skills. The Beacon's are much less traditional, and fight as anarchist special forces should... Freely, with the best possible ways to win, even if it means breaking the rules. The Grand Knights will do the same, but they will also be steeped in tradition, ritual, and will generally have the mindsets of genuine knights- Simply lacking the religious parts. Honor, upholding the peace, protecting the innocent. Everything needed to give them a deep seated hate for anarchy, making all the more reason for the special forces groups to have personal rivalries alongside being on different ends of a war. The Sigil of the Grand Knights -will-, however, be a cross. The Beacon's sigil will be a simple red triangle, downward facing.

Also, as to taking a leadership roll! As GM, I am taking the head-of-operations rolls for both groups, merely because it will generally be necessary for plot development and whatever else. But, you could lead a fireteam of your own, certainly.

Also, Silverdawn! The backstory is still in the making, but so far I've gotten rather in depth with it, and have made it obnoxiously complex simply because I can. It will be revealed when I create the OOC, so you and your friend can wait to commit to joining until then, if you like? P.S: Nice use of Mass Effect's blood dragon armor there, Daglo. You could use that if you want. Just replace the dragon with a cross. It's a good set.

Got the whole gist of the armor, yeah. EDIT: I've always liked the general look of Mass Effect armors. The knight commander's armor looks pretty Mass Effect-y as well.

Glad to hear it Qi. And as to power armor, Bozz, that depends on how you mean. Each Knight/Beacon Soldier would have their own custom armor, built to suit their needs. Would match a -general- design, but nothing beyond that. (Clean and Functional for Knights, bit more crazy and personalized for beacons.) So, if by power armor you mean it assists his motions, adds some pack to his punches, it's entirely possible. Mechanical help in motion. If you mean it throws out big blasts of power or something, not so keen on it. Bit Overpowered, that. Targeting assist, on-board A.I's, motion/strength assist, that's all well and good. But, in this universe, energy-blasts/shields or what-have-you aren't a thing yet. (As seen in the image I showed for my Beacon commander's armor. It's all still physical armoring. No shields.) Also, all armor -would- need to be space-worthy and have onboard air tanks. In case the wearer gets spaced on the job. Also, one more person and I can make the OOC! Would give us three on each team, plus my commanders.

This little discussion on power armor's actually got me thinking about making a heavy-type character. Heavy armor with a shield and LMG combo concept.

HEY EVERYBODY. [THE OOC! And IC. And Character page.](http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/75582/posts/ooc#post-2338886) Have an OOC. Read post 1 in the OOC for historical info and such, as well as details on weapons and armor and the like. Read the second post as well, it's important. Post one in the IC is identical to the first one in the OOC, my mistake, sorry. XD I have also posted the character sheets for Isaac and Jason, my characters and the commanders of The New Templars and the Beacons. We have people, but not an even number... So some of you may need to play more than once character to even it out. If you want to. It doesn't -have- to be even! And, it's still open to recruitment. So.
