I'm in talks with a friend on here to do a Daredevil RP and the more I've considered it, the more eager I am to make one happen. Regardless of whether or not me and said friend do get it up and running, I still would like another to also test the waters. Like many (in my mind) I'm not a comic person, I think it takes a big dedication and budget to buy them (or at least read online but that doesn't seem as charming as holding a comic...nevermind) and it's not something I ever got into growing up and I feel it's too much to catch up. My point is...!

I'm limited to what I've seen in the movies and what I've found on Netflix. If you really need to know my depth, I've seen the following:



But overall I would prefer Daredevil over all of the above stuff, I just wanted to show you what I've seen and what sort of things I may not like (depending on the above stuff of course). I will list some pairs below and the roles in bold will be ones I am willing to play as. If you want to include a crossover with more Marvel or DC, we can totally talk. Now if you want OCs, I'm 97% likely to decline because I find them boring and unappealing. Pairs with stars indicate either a thought (which we can develop into a plot together) or eagerness. I want a partner who is willing to bend ideas and concepts, someone who isn't stoic when it comes to having fun with roles and situations.

As a heads up, I will only accept one of these. My time at the moment is limited, summer I should have a lot more time (depending on if I can land a job this summer for once) so until then, expect 1-3 posts every weekend, depending on what's going on. One last thing, I expect 4-5 paragraphs per typical post, I don't want to post more unless we're doubling because as I said, time is limited and I know it's busy for others in college/school like myself.

I'm a natural born DD fan if there ever was one. I'm a dedicated reader who buys when he can. I've played DD three or four times, and always enjoyed it. I've never done a 1x1 like this before. So I'm not looking for leniency, just a little help. I'm guessing that you want to wear the horns, though, which is alright.

But I'd rather do some different pairings, like:
Daredevil & Ikari

Daredevil & Spider-Man

Daredevil & Daredevil (AU)

Daredevil & The Shroud

Daredevil & Batman

Daredevil & Moon Knight


I'm a fairly creative guy and can provide deeper plots if you're interested. Or bend to any suggestions you have.

I'm more partial to Bruce Wayne than Peter Parker, I gotta admit but I do think having Batman and Daredevil team up would be pretty epic, granted the power struggle isn't too apparent or that Daredevil has developed enough to keep up with the bat. I know there have many many topics as to whether or not Matt could keep up with say, The Avengers (I am aware Daredevil falls under the Defenders cluster but my knowledge there is pretty stark) and everyone (myself included) think they're into two very different leagues, so to speak. So in that regard, Spider-man and Daredevil may be a more cohesive team but I still can't shake some of the cringe factor I feel when it comes to Peter Parker.

And I don't need to play as Daredevil himself but I do think his role would be fun to play but I am very open to sharing or swapping roles, depending on the plot we'd like to center around.

Though any other heroes or villains to throw into the mix, would require you either give me their backstory as needed or it would require a few thorough readings around the internet, which I'm not at all opposed to but I would still like to be able to use things/people/places that I am comfortable, so I don't feel too far out of my depth.

Bringing back Kingpin is a given but it would depend when and where the RP may take place. As I said, the Netflix series is where I'm aiming to jump off from or back into, depending on other roles and directions.

To be honest, the only valid reason Bruce should outclass Matt is gadgetry. In the comics, his cane has quite a few features of note, though. I've never seen the show because I don't have Netflix.

The main Marvel universe Daredevil is an adept, one of few natural born ninjas with extreme potential. He's incredibly clever, and probably avoids having a vehicle because it's impractical being blind. But the super senses easily compensate for any surveillance equipment Wayne may employ.

DD has been on the New Avengers roster, and was requested to be on Secret Avengers. He's also beaten an assassin who can't miss and a ton of villains who outclass his power set, constantly escaping death and defying his own fate.

So, I think they're more even than most people think.

Edit: I'm up for a Batman/DD team-up though. I actually have a bunch of scenarios to facilitate such a story.

There may be some way for you to see it without Netflix, I'm sure some online digging might unearth some kind of torrent or streaming video. Though considering you haven't seen the show and my own knowledge is stunted, I'm unsure if we'd be able to make something work since we're both coming from two different avenues of knowledge.

I think Bruce and Matt's physical stature may also be why I'm unsure of their partnership. I consider Matt more lean and slim, where I do see Bruce as more broad and heavier with his own muscle and build. I'm not saying I'm not up for a Baceman/DD team up, I'm just trying to figure out the aesthetics of pair since Batman has the gadgets and Daredevil has more nimble getting around a city. And would one of them leave his own city? I'm not sure how DC comes into play with Marvel (or where Gotham is compared to "real world" locations) since both men are pretty protective of his own city, a threat would need to be enough for them both to do something together in either Hell's Kitchen or a third location entirely.

And even then, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with a RP that's heavy with fighting, I'd feel better about easing into things which I was hoping to do with the roles in the Netflix show since they show both Matt by night, but more so by day.

Simple solution. Wayne Industries could need a lawyer. Or we could do a Bruce Wayne: Murderer/Fugitive thing to begin. The Court of Owls could team up with Owlsley. I don't think it necessarily means they need a big threat, just something personal. Honestly, I prefer an emotional Daredevil, a guy who cares about the people he fights and helps when possible.

In an official map of the DCU, Gotham is either west of Jersey or directly on top of it somehow while coexisting.

Perhaps Bruce could actually be in the NYC on business before seeing something he can't turn away from. After all, it's often stated that Wayne is the real mask. Or it could be about Karen Page and the men could compete for her affection/protect her from kidnapping, as often happened in classic Daredevil. Or perhaps Wayne could seek DD out as a sort of screening for potential in an Outsiders mission. Investigation is usually the part of a plot that's cut out of movies, like where they look and what their sources are. There's plenty of room for character development.

Plus, in a talkier game, comparative muscle mass shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Alternatively, I could just read a lot about the show until I really get the gist of it.

I got a Netflix login from my buddy IRL. No guarantee on when I'll watch it, but it's now within my reach.

I really do recommend you give the show a shot when you get a chance, I haven't heard much complaints from comic fans.

As far as your ideas go, I do think Wayne Industries getting a lawyer (ex: Nelson and Murdock) would be a good idea but then the more you embellished on the other one, regarding Bruce traveling to NYC and probably getting involved with something as himself or as Batman and thus teaming up with Matt during the day or during the night while on the prowl, while involving Karen and Foggy would be a great a idea. It might also be feasible to have Karen develop some kind of crush on Bruce, though I do have a preference for her and Foggy or Matt...

Ahem.

Anyway, I do think bringing Bruce into the city for business but then perhaps being a witness or accused during a daytime crime on the street, could be enough to bring in Matt to defend him since it's not like Bruce could have just changed into Batman on the spot to do anything as Bruce Wayne. If that make sense.

Indeed. So, would you rather be Matt or Bruce? They are my (count 'em) two favorite superheroes.

I'd probably be a bit better as Matt.

Do you prefer threads? I do. I can start one from Bruce's perspective and let you paint your status quo as Matt to start. Is there a title that sticks out to you?

I'm sorry, I'm not subscribed to interest checks and that tends to bite me in the ass when it comes to keeping them all in a row.

To be honest, I still feel a little over my head since we're pulling from so many avenues and I'd need to do some more reading on what we're getting into. Did you by any chance have an idea of "which" Batman you'd be using (which film perhaps?) and which antagonists you'd be VERY interesting in bringing in, that way I could do some more research.

I was thinking somewhere between The Dark Knight and the Arkham series, with hints from the 90s Animated Series. Mostly The Arkham Batman, ideally though. Perhaps TDK would work better in this setting. I'll get back to you soon.

I'm still hesitant to give this the green light because my knowledge and your knowledge still seem to have a big gap between them. I'm not sure if I'd be able to feel confident enough to create something with you, that we're both have equal footing.
