In Which Dorian Grey Converses

How peculiar. It was a strange enough thing to not have any gentleman around to engage in proper habits. Truly, the Mob had forced themselves into positions where they should never had been allowed. Such tragedy befell the noble institution of the Aristocracy. However, that was not the primary thing of concern here. No, what was truly the most important thing at this moment was the conversation at hand.

"Hm? No surname?" Dorian Grey inquired. After all, in public it was always most proper to discuss with others using their surname. However, the lady appeared to not have one. Or perhaps she didn't realize the importance of giving out the surname. Mister Grey took a slight moment to adjust his gloves, "Ah but of course. I am Dorian Grey."

"So, I must inquire, what do you think about this little soirée?" Mister Grey inquired.

Robin Hood sits idly and sips his drink

Robin Hood enjoyed the pleasantries of having a break from his past shooting the Mayors Deer and all becoming an criminal didn't really make him that happy but he was enjoying the small things sat the moment deciding that he should not let the past get the better of him.

Robin taking a sip from his wine and listening to his surroundings as he would elsewhere in the wild.

Robin was dressed not in his hunting attire but a more comfortable suit; it had a green overcoat and a white undershirt, with green dress pants and light green tie.

He didn't have his weapons on him though he had both of his throwing knifes tucked in his overcoat for protection and a few other miscellaneous items he had pocketed from unknowingly stupid folk who didn't have protection for there possessions.

He toyed with a pocket watch that he had stolen and was now in his front pocket, a smile playe across his face.

"I am the best!"

Robin thought to himself amusedly.

Chapter Three: The Revengeance

Abdul politely neglected to mention that the Boogieman was not included in the Necronomicon Ex Mortis, a book listing all the major creatures one could summon and gain knowledge from. Rather, the Bogeyman was detailed in a small explanatory book for merchants Abdul wrote around the 1700s, describing minor spooks and demons one could find along the roads of Great Britain, and how best to deal with them.

Abdul rubbed his crooked chin thoughtfully, poring over his brain for what he remembered of the Boogieman.

"'S been ages since I last met you, Spooky! Are you still hiding under children's beds? Ooh, are you still terrified of salty spring water? I've been looking to write a book about yer, an' I wanna get me facts right!"

Abdul's eyes briefly glazed over as he attempted to deliver a plot synopsis of his next door-stopper.

"Lessee, t'main guy's an amateur writer from New York, e's an Arab-American immigrant, lookin' to make his mark on the world--Bit of a legacy character, that-- an' he goes round huntin' down folk monsters an' other gribbly things. Last book I 'ad him goin' on a Skunk Ape hunt, but this time I thought I'd let the boy have a breather and go after ye, Spooky! I ain't to spoil ya, but the climax involves creative usage of a bedsheet and a hollowed-out onion! 'S jus' like old times, y'see, ol' Spooky-boy! T'fans love acc'rate ref'rences t' folklore!"

"You'd think after centuries of writing you'd be better at speaking English." Boogie said with a slight smirk as he listened to Abdul, he could already tell the old writer was trying to get under his skin. He may not have been a member of the thirteenth floor, but Boogie was more than use to the mind games that these spell slingers used. He himself was guilty of using such tactics back in his heyday, though for much darker reasons.

"I'm afraid I haven't been staying under anyone's bed save my own. Though I have been in quite a few lately, this Glamor does have some of its benefits." He chuckled as he pulled out his flask and brought it to his lips, taking a rather long swig. His pierced tongue danced over his lips as licked away the remain whiskey. "Oh I was never afraid of spring water, just not much of a swimmer myself."

"But that is enough of me, what about you Abdul? Still milking that whole author thing of yours for all it is worth?" Boogie said as he turned his attention to the rest of the crowd. "I have to assume it is nothing like the old days eh? The originals are usually the best.

"... The name is Leon, Mr. Black. A refugee from Fabletown just like the rest that attend tonight's festivities. If you wish to discuss business now, I'm afraid I must decline. You can stop by my shop later, and we'll talk then," Leon added curtly, obviously offended by the black dressed man. It was one thing to question him, it was another to doubt his word. Surely the word of one who would willingly subject himself to death is beyond reproach? Either way, Leon felt it was time to draw this conversation to a close, "Enjoy the rest of your evening, Mr. Black."

With that, Leon would turn his back abruptly on the man and return to the party at large. He wasn't attending tonight's event to be badgered about the contents of his larder. Instead, he turned back to the socialites, the people to which he felt more accustomed. Black held his own... 'Charm', but that quickly wore thin on Leon's nerves. Now attempting to save the appeal of tonight's event, Leon found himself searching for any new form of entertainment. and how quickly it was found.

Had the man been up close, he might not have seen it; but from the outside looking in- it was as plan as day. A rather familiar fable was making rounds amongst the crowd, his deft hands providing not even a subtle hint of his theivery- or at least to those that were not paying attention. It was when the man paused, that Leon would approach him from the flank, "Hello, Robin, enjoying tonight's festivities? Anything 'interesting' that caught your eye recently?" Leon spoke pointedly, though with a tone that resembled more amusement than anything else.

In which Sonny Wu finds a friend

As the party continued around him Wukong proped himself against the back wall of room and rested his hands behind his head his gold framed aviators slid slightly down on his nose. An exasperated sigh escaped him as he silently began kicking himself for actually coming to this poor excuse for a party, he figured that Ol' King Cole would actually throw a party worth having this year.

'He should have let me plan this thing...it would have been much more fun.

Reaching into his ear Wukong pulled out his Jingu Bang and allowed it to grow into the size of a cane and placed it on the ground where it stood straight where it stood. Causing it to grow in diamater Wukong stood on one end and peered out over the crowd to get a better perception of who was actually at this event. As his keen eyes scaned the room he spotted several faces that he 'recognized' including the Lion-Guy, Boogie-Down, and...some guy in a suit (he didn't actually know the last guy but he didn't really care either).

Almost giving up the search of someone interesting to talk to Wukong's eyes suddenly lit up with excitement as he spoted someone from his own homeland and a someone from the Beauacracy to. Jumping down from from Jingu Bang and barged through the crowd until he was left standing in front of The Great Beard himself (as he like to call him) Guan Yu.

Wukong's cheeky grin couldn't be contained as he peered at the man over his aviators his thick and heavy accent rolled of his tongue in torrents,

"Well look what we have here, the Celestial Emporer himself come to mingle among the common folk! It's good to see you Guany."

Guan Yu Chastises A Former Comrade

"Sun Wukong," rumbled Yunchang. And it was the trickster himself come to torment him. Wonderful. At least he was more of a trickster and less actively malicious than that infuriating Dorian Grey. But still, no matter how hard the man tried to create a town of benevolence, Fate seemed to possess a predilection for irritating him. Still, one could not easily dismiss someone who, if not a friend, was a long-held associate. "Last I saw, you were still filling in the paperwork for damages caused by Dong Zhuo. How many centuries has it been?" he asked politely. As the Jade Emperor, he had hoped that charging the cheeky god with literal millenia of paperwork would keep him out of trouble. But here they were, at a party, with no paperwork in sight.

But, once upon a time before coming here they had been comrades, so he couldn't remain annoyed about his presence. What he was annoyed about, though, was his obviousness. "Our purpose here is to blend in. Maintain our glamour, and look the part. This is not our home, Sun Wukong. You would do well to remember this."

Chapter Four: Back To The Revenge

Abdul absent-mindedly ran his teeth through his gums as Boogie lied through his teeth about his weaknesses and nesting preferences. It wasn't something he was about to mention out loud, but made a mental note to add a small subplot about the Boogieman cameo desperately trying to staunch any and all information about how to defeat him. Truth be told, a prayer and a bowl of purified water under the bed was a rather disappointing way to stave off the "ultimate" evil.

At Boogie's insinuation that the old ways were best, Abdul had to stifle a huff.
"Nothing worth keepin' from back then, Bogman. Nothin' but memories and stories. That's the reason they had ya sign that compact, y'know. 'You forget me sins, an' I'll forget yers' an' all that. Some boys just can't let go of their past, yaknow? I says forget it all, you ain't gonna get nothing but trouble playing up yer reputation."

Abdul nonchalantly cracked his knuckles, and grinned wryly at Boogie.
"Just got meself another deal, yaknow. Fifteen-hunnerd fer a foreword! Better'n all'a butchers an' game hunters in this town. Times're tough fer ev'ryone, but all them noo-voo reesh keep buyin' up clubs an' dragon steaks 'cuz they think just 'cuz they got money now they ain't in dire straits. Ain't much money fer those who ain't the big boys, an' there's only a couple'a big boys here."

Abdul gave Boogie a sly look, and whispered conspiratorially to him. Abdul had spent years eking out a barebones living, and had the kind of money owned by someone who could afford to look shabby.

"T'real money's in liquid assets, Bogman. Don't getcherself tied up in brick-an'-mortar an' don't spend scads on pretty shows an' foreign food-- all that's gonna do is empty yer wallet an' make people have expectations. Make yerself shabby an' live shabby, an' noone but noone'll try an' take anythin' from ya. E'er wonder why them girls on Floor Thirteen look like yer ol' gran, e'ven though they got more money'n all'a us? It's 'cuz they knows what I'm talkin' about."

"Unfortunately I possess no surname. My last name was more of a title before and now the title no longer fits as well as the fact that it brings up painful memories that are not worth experiencing every time it is uttered. I hope you understand." Bianca answered. She realized that it was hard to be proper without a last name to be referred to but hopefully the gentleman would forgive something she had no control over. "Well, than it is a pleasure to make you acquaintance Mr. Grey. As for the soirée, I find it completely magnificent and quite enjoyable so far. It is both a time to never forget what has happened and for those that want to forget, to have something new to remember. Do you have any opinion on the evening?"

Wherein the Declarations of Dorian Grey can be Found

How quaint. Well that was something new. Oh well, asking upon that would not be polite. After all, he was in Polite Society, well a mimicry of it. And as the situation was one that was supposed to emulate that of proper society, Dorian Grey would continue to be the Victorian Gentleman he was. Mister Grey stared at Bianca and tilted his head to the right. With his left index finger he tapped at his cheek, pursing his lips ever so slightly.

His eyes drifted upwards as if he was in thought. They quickly returned to glancing back at the lady. "Oh yes I do understand Biancabella, though I must inquire if it Ms or Mrs?" Dorian Grey gave a small smile towards the lady. Oh of course it was a pleasure for her to meet him. He was, after all Dorian Grey, whose own beauty influenced his dear friend Basil Hallward to refer to him as a Young Narcissus. After all, his beauty was just as magnificent as the God's own stunning appearance.

"Yes, it certainly is a pleasure." Mister Grey glanced back behind him, at the festivities still in progress. "Ah yes, it certainly does provide new memories to those on both sides of that ideological fence. Mister Grey thought back to the various other social events he had been through. Oh those, those were the days. Hmph, this event was a pathetic event compared to the social galas he had been through. However he was a Victorian Gentleman, and he was receiving hospitality. Hm, perhaps he had a far more entertaining option to go through in answering this.

"Well, the evening has certainly left quite the impression." Dorian Grey glanced back towards the festivities as he noticed the band preparing for the next set. He returned his focus to Bianca, "Well, well. It looks like it is time for another set. Shall I have the honor of dancing this set with you?"

Robin Hood convereses with Leon

Robin Hood pocketed the watch that he had snagged from some poor gentlemen and looked at another familiar face who approached him and the man said.

"Hello, Robin, enjoying tonight's festivities? Anything 'interesting' that caught your eye recently?"

The man spoke pointedly, though with a tone that resembled more amusement than anything else, he recognized the man as a Sir. Leon and the man seemed to understand who Robin was.

@Leolycan

"Hello Leon I am enjoying this little party in a little way that provides me with amusement and other assorted amount of things,"

Robin winked at Leon with a small smirk then continued.

"Oh many of things catch my eye from maid to merchandise and many other things but at the moment I have done my job,"

He said as he patted his over coat with his gloved hands and then looked at Leon confusedly and asked.

"But besides me what brought you here to me?"

Then Robin looked from side to side and checked if anyone was eavesdropping and he whispered.

"You need a job done or something I do under the table jobs sometimes you know!"

He said quietly so Leon could hear, he liked the man and he thought he would be a good business partner or maybe a good boss so Robin would treat him fairly and not steal any of his possessions from him.

"Nothing in particular, Sir Hood. Merely recognized a familiar face, and was coming to see how you were. Glad to see you escaped the Homelands," Leon spoke, patting the man's shoulder as his gaze turned the activities of those around them. Indeed, many people were about, but most too preoccupied to even notice the exchange between the two men. Lifting a hand to readjust his dreadlocks, his attention would return to Robin Hood, "Actually- now that you mention it- tonight's events took a significant toll upon my stock. Though I'm more than happy to supply our liege with whatever he desires; I do have to maintain a decent supply to meet with demands of our kin and mundies alike. If you happen to find yourself hunting any particularly rare game, I'd be more than happy to compensate you for the beast's meat. You can do with what you will with the hides."

Upon voicing his offer, the dark-skinned male couldn't help but cast a subtle smile, "As for your procurement tonight... I don't know what you speak of." He spoke the latter words slowly and intentionally, followed by a wink. He had known of Robin- in fact- he had dealt with the man many times in regards to his hunting prowess, "Still, do be careful. I'd hate to see the great 'Robin Hood' behind bars."

As his gaze continued to glance about the room, his eyes would rest upon Mr. Black once more. With a subtle growl under his breath, he'd lean over and whisper to the man at his side, "Be careful of that one... Always the enigma, but now fosters a curiosity for my business. I wouldn't divulge too much to that man. His motives are foreign to me."

Mr. Black simply stared at Leon as he walked away, going through his mental roster of criminals. The name didn't help. Mr. Black had never heard of a Leon matching the man's description. It could have been an alias, but Mr. Black doubted that. He tapped his earpiece.

"Note: Keep an eye on fable alias Leon. He is definitely a smuggler. Additionally, egotistical and a bad liar."

Leon walked over and spoke to another fable, one that Mr. Black did recognize. A petty criminal by the name of Hood. Wanted for tax evasion, among other things. Apparently skilled, but ultimately small fry. Mr. Black spoke into his earpiece again.

"Fable alias Leon is speaking with fable alias Hood, may be discussing-", Mr. Black was cut off as somebody shoved him from behind.

"Ay, dipshit, move yer ass."

"Pardon.", Mr. Black turned to face a tall, muscular man in a ski mask, covered head to toe in a thick, heavy garments that left not an inch of skin exposed. He reeked of bug-spray.

"Move. Yer. Ass. Ya blockin' the ham."

"You heard nothing.", Mr. Black said as he stepped out of the man's way.

"Yeah, sure, great, didn't heard nothin' or whatever. Fuck off.", the man grumbled as he began forking slice after slice of ham onto his plate.

Mr. Black stepped away and tapped his earpiece again.

"Fable alias Leon is speaking with fable alias Hood, may be discussing some form of criminal activities. Likely smuggling."

Robin glanced over at the man Leon had whispered to him about and Robin didn't exactly recognize him at first but he certainly knew who and what he was.

Mr.Black looked like he was whispering to himself when a large man wearing a ski-mask bumped into him at this moment he pulled Leon aside around a corner and walked down a hall towards the restrooms that were nearby then when he thought it was okay to speak he spoke.

@Leolycan

"You seem to be right about avoiding that gentleman but I am equally suspicious of him as he seems to be in us as well!"

He said looking around the corner seeing Mr.Black whispering to himself again.

"He seems to be spying on us Leon"

Robin said as he glanced behind them, it was probably obvious to Leon that Robin was worried about this Mr.Black but it was for good reasons he didn't want to end up behind bars again he had enough of that life it wasn't healthy even though he broke out of Jail long ago, it was just that the situation and the way Mr.Black acted made Robin skittish and afraid that he would have to go back to jail.
