Well I'm still here. Just waiting for my turn to show. Just let me know when it is...also feel stupid for walking into a trap area. I'm sure, deep down, Mai is mentally swearing "inefficient" for such a rookie mistake.

Sorry it wasn't in posting order. I skipped a turn so I decided to just put it in there as fast as I could; it isn't an interaction with any other person, so it should be fine. If not, @Ariamis should tell me.

Also, just like with DarkRecon, Macabre and Caliburn can only free themselves from the trap by the end of your turn, meaning you can't move during it.

I thought Macabre and Caliburn were in the outskirts, not in the actual mine field.

No, I did run several kilometers into Zone C before turning around and skidding. Still not near the center, but deep enough into the area to be at risk of triggering a mine.

I see @Ariamis has taken some inspiration from the religious symbolism from NGE. Or the person's just called Cain for the hell of it. I'm still excited, to say the least.

Very good guesses. It was actually inspired by Ciaphas Cain, a commissar from a series of Warhammer 40K novels. As for religious references, you may have noticed the name of the division Mai Twilight comes from: Exodus.
