I don't get it.


I'm cosplaying Nana Osaki at Meta Con this fall and she smokes a particular brand of cigarettes. On a whim I googled it and, turns out, it's a real brand in Japan, and I can buy them online and have them shipped from Singapore. However, I don't want to use my debit card in case it gets hacked, safer to use a credit card.

The joke is that I'm so dedicated to my cosplay that I'd buy one pack of cigarettes from Singapore, and I don't even smoke.

There's a guy on another site that can pull off an accurate as fuck Solid Snake, of The Boss timeline.

It's made all the more easier that he lost an eye and wears an eye-patch and smokes. So all he needs are the fatigues. And presumably with some more age he might be able to glue a rock to his forehead and become MGS5 Snake.

And then when he's 70 and could become Old Snake.

It's only $12 including regular shipping and I think it's worth it since it'll look a lot better than a regular pack of cigarettes (or an awkward cardstock construction meant to look like the foreign brand).

Plus with my good looks and stunning personality I'm making a lot of good tips at my new job.

But seriously though, if you're gonna do that, smoke a little first to get used to it. Because the first couple cigarettes are NOT pleasant. Nobody gets addicted to smoking after a single pack. Get comfortable, look cool, make memories and shit.

For srs I don't want to become a smoker. I know when you first start it's bad, but I'm willing to tough it out in the name of good cosplay. Don't want it to become a habit though.

You won't become a smoker after a practice pack. You will look (and feel) absolutely miserable if you try to do it for the first time on camera.

Anti-smoking commercials have you convinced you can get addicted just from looking at the things. You can't. In moderation, cigarettes are actually healthy for you. Don't go crazy or anything but there's no point in unthinking terror either.

The flipside is, if you're not going to practice puff, then you *really* shouldn't do it in costume. It'll look the exact opposite of 'in character.'
