Key word, about. I didn't say he WAS two feet, but he's got broad shoulders. He's not a skinny man, and you gotta remember that he was in motion. His foot was extended while he was walking and his other foot was left behind during the step.

Literally this entire time, you've been pointing out "inconsistencies" that make no sense.

I'm really tired of it.

I'm sorry, but in no universe is Shin two feet wide. I think you might have forgotten I'm over 6ft 3" myself with broad shoulders, I used myself to judge. If he happened to have been standing in the widest stance of all time then by all means that might be possible, but that would simply mean he should have been stabbed in the feet. However he was in the act of stepping. Plus, it's really irrelevant how wide he is at the top, lower bodies are slender, and that's all the spikes needed.

If I had to judge, Shin would probably be about a foot and a half wide if he was in the act of stepping, presuming he has anything close to a normal human body type.


I remember the pic you posted once upon a time looked waaaay scrawnier. Has nothing to do with anything but just an observation.

Hmm, average male shoulder width is 25.7 inches (or 40-48 cm)...closer to 2 feet than I thought. But ya I got out a measuring tap and 2 feet is not that off actually. It SOUNDED absurd but it checks out apparently...Damn you skinny :P

Like I said though, that's literally the most extreme wide part of your body, unless your standing in a wide stance, which isn't really the case here.

To be fair, that picture was like five years ago, you can ask Rilla if I'm lying if you want, I added him on FB a while back.

I assumed ya'll were talking about shoulder width at the very least, not totally caught up on this fight today. Won't lie, thought Shin would have won by now.

Ultimately it's not up to me to decide your characters proportions, considering what we've deduced it's actually less likely that pushing off the spikes with your hands would have been possible, but whatever.

Well this fight has taken a weird turn, though I'm perfectly happy to have Metz wax philosophical for the foreseeable future, I can imagine him sitting around feeling sorry for himself for at least an hour or two.

You know what's weird, Shin is having a complete freak-out about his fucked up vision and yet is still insulting Metz bravery when he continued to fight with the same effects, and actually had Shin on the backfoot until he essentially ran away from Metz. I'm not particularly bothered by veiled insults in posts, people do it all the time, but this one is making less and less sense.

You know I do really like the why Matz uses magic, he actually uses Somatic components. An art I thought was dead in the arena when it comes to powers or magic. You have no idea how annoying I find the idea of people manipulating elements and powers with nothing but a thought or with their minds with no outward signs. Heck T1 even says you have to make it apparent your using an ability or prepping... >.>

Though he does weave precise hand gestures so fast it would make the hand signs in Naruto look like stop-action slow motion. :P

It's worth pointing out that before mana became a precious resourse that drove Torm into hyper-drive it would have taken longer, he can essentially move thrice the speed he should be able to, and even a normal human can do some pretty wild gestures in a few seconds.

But yeah, I wanted to go back to that more obvious form of spellcasting with more limitations, mainly because I thought it would be better balanced for this tournament.

Honestly don't know what you're talking about with that veiled insults comment. I'm not prone to breaking character just to insult someone, what was said has nothing to do with you. As you are not Metz.

And a man in perfect condition having trouble seeing, and then hiding behind a barrier of stone to fire off magic at his opponent? In what way does a man who has debilitating wounds in his feet being forced to jump into water mirror that?

The two situations are near totally dissimilar.
