Engaged is when objects are right besides each other (in arm length), Short range is up to a dozen or so meters (if you are looking at someone, you can make out there features).

Both zombie groups are in short range, the area of effect of 'engaged' will only effect 1 group. If you make the are of effect to fill a short range, you will hit both the other zombie group and everyone else in the space.

Alright, so if I'm understanding this right, if I use the area of effect destruction spell, my allies (in engaged range) will be fine and I'll strike both groups of zombies?

And since Ka-Vara's summon was on the other side of the groups, it won't be hit either?

I can guess the answer but I might as well make sure, would I be permitted to move to medium range and still attack or would that require moving out of the tower and putting me out of line of attack.

The range in the building is short. To enter a Med range you must leave the building and the fight.

If you use a destruction spell with a radius effect of Short, it will hit everyone on the floor, ally and foe.

I read over the rules and I came to the conclusion I can perform my Incantations perk as a maneuver as well as cast my spell, if I'm not mistaken?

I'm just wondering, but because of my Concentration- Destruction and Learned perks, aren't those two blue dice whenever I cast Destruction magic?

@WittyWolf The INCANTATIONS perk reads "Any spell" so pretty much any spell you cast can have this effect if you trigger it. For the CONCENTRATION perk, it only applies to the scroll you choose in your case Destruction. LEARNED will give you a blue on concentration checks only.

@LotusWarrior Could I have used Leylines before when we finished off the zombies? I was kind of confused by the scenario, since there is still an enemy nearby, does that mean that the encounter did not end?
