WIP

Name: Ythreïn Methreon
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Undead
Side: Dark. The Frozen Sword. The Wraith Commander. Wallbreaker.
Appearance:
Weapons:

Abilities/Powers:
Tortured wraiths - From Istraen, Ythreïn is able to bring forth the the souls he slew. In form of small green lights. These tortured souls go forth howling and screaming. Instilling fear and hopelessness in the enemy. Before slamming themselves into the ground with a shivering death cry. Making a small explosion of energy.

Dragonice aura - With the Dragonice imbued in Istraen, the very air around Ythreïn feels cold. Fires wither, candles go out and the morning dew slowly freezes in his presence. It sapps even the greatest men from their warmth. Leaving them exhausted and shivering.

Dark ice - With the slam of his boot, or with the slam of his fist Ythreïn can summon forth dark ice. In the form of a wall or spikes. The ice is not ordinary ice. Imbued with pure darkness, it feels a lot colder and melts very slowly with average fires. Flames made from a strong fire-mage may melt it faster.

Talent(s):
Exceptional swordsman - Ythreïn was young and naïve when he left the castle of his parents. He was nothing but a below-average fighter. All that changed with Kul'Haid. Who placed within Ythreïn the many memories he had of knights trying to fight him. Kul'Haid's training with the sword was harsh but succesful.

Personality:
Ythreïn now lives for the kill. He looks forward for every battle, and fights as a vanguard at the front. Impulsive and forceful, he would expect anyone below him to have the same feeling. He takes orders from those he deems worth enough to command.

@Esterdi

but if you do hit Joan with a crossbow bolt she can be healed of the injury and be saved where if she cuts you you will be stuck with that wound forever magic healing be damned, which is that part I am concerned about in an rp where the players are likely to be in contact with each other. Either Joan kills characters or she never lands any blows on anyone and looks incompetent.

@Legion02

Now I'm not in charge so I hold no power, but we do have quite a bit of the undead thing going already on the dark side with a necromancer, an undead and an incomplete character sheet for another undead and a lot Ythreïn's abilities seem to be a little too close to my character for my liking with the cold aura and using the souls of slain enemies. Again I have no power here and you don't have to change anything, but it does concern me. blah blah complaining blah blah.

@Cultural Titan I am willing to rework Joan's abilities and still keep the whole skilled rogue/spy aspect while removing things that aren't exactly necessary.

One thing being her incurable wounds. It was a neat concept at the time but it's somewhat unnecessary and only exists to to make recovering after a fight with her needlessly complicated in the IC. I would still like to keep her resistance to mind magic, but I think she could do without Golden Thanatos' magic cutting powers. In all honesty, Black Thanatos' marks is a more than effective tool for dealing with mages, so she doesn't really need any more.

I'm sure I can think of something to replace the Golden Thanatos' ability. One that fits with her quick fighting style. What I might do is remove the magical marks from her black dagger and put them on her golden dagger. So her golden dagger is the one effective at dealing with mages and her black dagger is a deadly sharp tool that causes lots of bleeding.

I imagine there isn't much of a discrepancy with her talents, since it mostly seems like the issue you're facing is with her weapons abilities.

But those are just ideas. I'm also considering scrapping her all together and trying something new.

I think I would be fine so long as the wounds were not incurable. for my own purposes, raven can deal with the rest by stabbing someone and healing off the blood =P. What we actually would get out of this is being able to allow Joan to hit people since it won't mean they will just bleed out and die. She'll still be pretty lethal, but the chance exists for someone to escape. Or for raven to heal past it all and kick Joan off a cliff, but I have already stated my desire for dark side characters to be OP

Speaking of him, I'm in the middle of rewriting him. so far I'm still not quite happy with him. it may take a while... but I'm thinking of making him so that the only ways to really beat him are to break his lantern using the king's sword thereby cutting him off from all his collected souls and leaving him completely powerless or using Allucard's mind rewriting ritual to make Raven Forget he wants to kill everyone. The idea being to make it more dramatic to actually beat him rather than to let Raven bulldoze through all of the heroes. I am okay with adding methods to the list of ways to end Raven, but I would like them to remain reasonably difficult. The sword is in the hands of only an okay swordsman and would need to hit the lantern which can be kept out of reach and the ritual would need to be performed after beating Raven in combat which Allucard will have trouble doing on his own.

Of course we don't have to go that way if everyone has a problem with it. He can be just as kill-able as everyone else, I just thought it would be cool if the light side had to go the extra mile to take him down. of course I kinda lose all claim to that if he doesn't get to be second in command, but whatever...

@Cultural Titan I think I'll just remove Joan. I kind of really like Lucinda as a character and I'm worried that having multiple characters will make it hard for me to focus on her.

Lucinda, while not meant for combat, has her own unique tools that make her effective against the Dark Side. Not that she'll be fighting them often, but if she ever had to ward them off or protect herself she'd be quite competent. Although I'm not sure how the others would feel about that.

Her magic doesn't necessarily make her stronger than those of darkness, but it's certainly an effective tool for keeping them at bay should she ever have to. But this all depends if Lucinda gets accepted and people are alright with the concept of Sunlight Sorcery being a powerful means of delaying the advances of the Dark Side. Plus there's also her sword, Eclipse, which is also a very effective weapon against darkness. Although I don't intend for her to use it; a Queen doesn't just wave around a sword to defend herself after all. I was actually hoping of passing it on to someone in character. A right of passage if you will.

I think the reason I made Joan the way she was is because even though I agree to an extent that the dark side should be stronger than the light at the start; I feel like there has to be significant hurdles for them to overcome as well instead of just rolling through towns, creating mayhem and destruction. Even though I'm withdrawing Joan, I feel as though Lucinda's power could act as one of those hurdles.

In a sense, the Queen is really an embodiment of the Light. That wasn't the intention when I made her, but it seems to fit.

That is not what I expected to happen. I didn't mean to remove Joan as a character.

@Cultural Titan Oh no! Please don't think it was you! Goodness xD

I've actually just not been very fond of her since I finished the sheet. I believe I was too eager to write her up. If anything, your comments only reinforced how I felt about her.

I maaaaaay make another character, but at this point I'm not sure. So for the sake of convenience I'm just withdrawing Joan and leaving the spot of Commander of the Kingsguard open to anyone else. At the moment I'm quite busy though irl so we shall see!

And now I'm happy to be sort of a balancing force (attritionarily, anyway).

I mean, Sharp can just start up a meeting with his assassins and go like "Yo bros, I gots' intel of a new Dark lord. OP as hell, that guy. Soz, let's just stop poisoning the energy drinks of Light nobles for a month or two, y'hear me. 'least till a noob protagonist challenges that guy and brings 'em down."

It's a fair point. i wasn't really sure how many characters were already accepted, or what spots were taken. Thanks for the remark. I'll rework it from another angle.

Well if you want to go by things that are accepted then to my knowledge that is literally nothing. Hopefully soon. Maybe after the ooc is posted?

Name: Ythreïn Methreon
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Dragon-reborn
Rather than having inherited the power of a dragon through blood, Ythreïn was ‘reborn’ with the dragon’s power coursing through his veins. This happens when he pledges his life to an Elder Dragon when you’re at the edge of dead.

Side: Dark
Titles: Son of Fire. Immolator. Knight of Dragons.

Appearance:

Weapons:

Abilities:
Dragonflames - With the power from his sword, Ythreïn can summon forth balls, waves or other forms of dragonflames. Which are much harder to exstinguish and burn at a far higher temperature

Young lord of Dragons - as dragon-reborn, Ythreïn has a certain authority over younglings or adolescent dragons. Even though they are fickle in nature sometimes, Ythreïn can force them back in line. Just don’t be surprised if they eat a few allies just because they are hungry. He is often accompanied by 2 youngling dragons, whom are the size of big dogs. They are wingless, have red scales and look very much like oversized lizards. But don’t be fooled. These creatures bite like rabid dogs or breath fire to kill Ythreïn’s enemies.

Hellscape - Ythreïn’s very presence feels like a bright bonfire walking around. The air around him can become extremely hot. The ground gets scorched and burned. Soil dries up and dry shrubs might catch fire if he remains at one point for too long.

Talents
Extraordinary swordsman - Taught by both his family and Sol'Tuin, Ythreïn is an exceptionally rutheless swordsman. Wielding Valermos he can easily cut down rows of enemies, and likes doing so.

Personality:
Destruction given flesh. Ythreïn wants nothing more than to destroy and annihilate his targets. Be it a person, an order or a city. He’d march forward, kill and burn for the pure delight. He enjoys a good fight though. He just likes killing, burning and destroying more. Hot tempered sometimes. He can lash out towards those of equal rank. He is very much like fire, in the sense that he will obey those who he sees ‘strong’ enough to command him.

Hey guys, I've been keeping an eye on this and watching things develop.

Unfortunately, I've lost the confidence in myself when it comes to playing the King. He's a big part on the chessboard (duh?), and I just don't think I'll have the time to effectively play him.

My fault :/ I got brave and stupid by volunteering, but I thought it'd be best if I copped out now rather than 2 posts into the thing!

If I could, I'd like to take up my ranger instead as his role in the overall story wont be nearly as big, but I'll understand if you'd rather I just leave outright.

Thanks :)

What? Why should you go? I get it if you lack confidence to play the king, but there's currently no reason I know of for you to just leave.

As a side note since you are playing the ranger I incorporated Galungtrung keep into Raven's slightly upgraded bio and you may want to get back to me if you have any problems with that.

Then I wont; Kalar Splint is back in the game.

Having read your bio, I can't see a problem with it. The keep is just a ruin that Kalar uses as a staging post to mount his excursions against bandits and the like.

However, I imagine Kalar may have had a run in with Raven at some point, given the woods' close proximity. Perhaps not outright combat, but more of chance encounters that mainly concern Kalar and his men running from Raven on the occasions that he has appeared. Probably lost a few good men that way.

Maybe have it that Kalar has identified "safer" routes through the forest, that Raven seems to frequent less than other areas, allowing him to travel through it with "reduced risk".

Maybe Raven leaves him be, because deep down he identifies with Kalar's eternal mission of revenge?

I'll get my sheet up in the OOC anyways, and if needs be we can discuss things further. I can't see any problems arising, no matter what we agree on.

@Frengo

I my mind Raven's haunt is the whole northern border and that thicker forest by the keep, so they probably don't run into each other often. I would also imagine that maybe after a few deaths casualties the rangers would learn the signs of Raven's presence and maybe even be able to track him through the woods at a distance. This would have been pretty easy for decades even seeing as he has been almost mindless until very recently. And now that his mind has returned to him he just got up and left.

But yeah if you have ideas for a run in with Raven that's fine by me I even encourage it, but you probably should have fighting be avoided. Generally this is all good for me as Kalar can be familiar with Raven, and maybe key in the light side to the lantern being important, if not necessarily that its how you kill him. After Kalar realizes that the walking horror story he's been avoiding in the woods all this time is now leading an evil army to destroy the kingdom.

They may be able to connect in some way over their shared need for vengeance, but Raven would not really be aware of that in Kalar. He has been out of it for quite some time.

of course my word is not law feel free to suggest whatever, even if its just saying you like your already stated ideas better.

Welp, just got told by my boss that I'm going to a gulag. As in I gotta go fix a telescope in Russia in a remote region at ballsfreezingoff degrees celcius while sleeping in a wooden hut with no heating or running water.

I shall leave it up to your imagination what kind of internet connection awaits me there. Suffice to say I gotta drop this, sorry for causing that shitstorm earlier and I hope you get a good replacement Evil Overlord.
