There is no Light without Darkness, nor is there Darkness without Light, but nothing stops these two forces from consuming the other

Some define Darkness as an absence of light, others define it as simply a black mass or even nothingness, and the rest describe it as a physical purgatory, where our worst fears and subterfuge may flourish. They are right.
The dark shroud of nothingness that looms around us when we turn off the lights Is merely a curtain for them to hide behind, they cower at the light, they resent it, they hide from it, and the Darkness is there home. All those times when a parents 6 year old child is asleep at night, regardless of a night light is when they scream and cry for their mothers because they are afraid of the Darkness
They should be. Because if Man never studied light, Man would never be.

Darkness is a roleplay about a few people who discover the truth about the shadows, They learn that behind the black gloom that we can see is an entire world of nightmare and chaos in which light has no place, in such a world, it would be best if you could not see, but no matter what, they can see you.

You thought the shadow under your bed was nothing more? no, its no nothing more, there is just nothing more you can see, which is best, for all you know, there could be 2 inches between you and a physical nightmare. so keep a flashlight handy, you cant kill them, only repel them, so long as the batteries don't die.

personality:as long as they don't have any mental disorder I'm cool with it, a disorder is off limits, like schizophrenia, but an illness like insomnia or hallucinations is fine

Oh yeah I get that, but right now it just sounds like us being scared the entire time XD

fight for your life, don't get dragged into really dark shadows by tentacles and repel nightmares

Appearance:

Personality: Kate has always been the "odd man out" despite her best efforts. She's a straight A student when she's not even trying, a tom boy, and much too smart for her own good. Being the youngest child of 5, and only 3 years older than her niece and 4 years older than her nephew, she was raised somewhat like the middle child of seven... her parents never have time for her and her siblings pick on her incessantly. As a result, despite Kate's social interests and demeanor, she's become more and more isolated as she got older, especially once she got into middle school. She wears trench coats and carries a small bag of bones hanging from her belt loop most days. Kids avoid her, and she's started to prefer it that way to the cruel teasing she gets when she tries to make friends. The adults around her have a tendency to say "well that's just Kate" and brush off anything strange or unusual on the basis that her grades are always perfect. Kate is very much aware of her aloneness and how much she stands out, but even when she tries her hardest... there is no fitting in.

View of the darkness: A classmate introduced Kate to witchcraft in sixth grade. Kate was always weary of the darkness before... it gave her a sick feeling that something was always watching her. She'd run to get home before the sun set every night, and she kept a light on next to her bed always. Ever since she starting playing with spells and rituals, that feeling of unease around the darkness only got worse. She swore she always saw the same figures lurking in her closet or outside her window, but she'd never tell anyone because that was crazy and adults would just tell her she's being childish.

Personality- Very queer and strange. Believes in ghosts, fairies and magical beings, as well as magic itself. Total video game nerd. PC & console gamer. Juno is basically the equivalent of Luna Lovegood. She reads everything, and was an eloquent way of speech.

View on the Darkness- Slightly trustful, feels as if it's pulling her in, but still fearful. Her mother was a practicing witch, where she gets most of her queer way of thinking. She loves walking in the dark, and enjoys laying in her dark bedroom before bed to go to sleep.
