Just saw the new Star Wars yesterday and have been playing Knights of the old republic 2 all day so I guess its pretty great.

Just saw the new Star Wars yesterday and have been playing Knights of the old republic 2 all day so I guess its pretty great.


Sounds awesome! Been awhile since I last played Knights of the Old Republic 2. How'd you like the movie?

That movie was awesome! At some parts it sorta seemed like it was a student film and not an actual star wars film but that was probably only because of it being somewhat different from what I'm used to from Star Wars.

It was directed by J. J. Abrams so there was a few things I noticed but it was nonetheless a great movie. Kinda have to get over the bit that the EU is not recognized though there are several notable and familiar factors that are still present.

Yeah, kinda sucks that the Extended Universe got retconned. I wasn't super versed in the stuff but I knew a couple of stuff from it and, from what I could tell, it was pretty cool.

But in all honesty, the main Star Wars characters still played a pivotal role in the expanded universe stories and The Force Awakens takes place 30 years and thats where much of them tend to fall of the grid with a new set of characters to take up the "mantle" I guess you can say. It would be kinda hectic to explain the several hundred tons of backstory for all of them if the movie takes place so many years after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Its a shame but I would have totally loved to see trilogy with Grand Admiral Thrawn as the main antagonist.

On another note, apparently the Great War (Autobots vs Decepticons) in most Transformer continuities lasted for more than 4 million-plus years; just wanted to mention that to make my post sound less weird.

Never was a fan of star wars. I get that it was amazing piece when it came out, but today it's just hopeless and I refuse to like it just because it is a classic. I mean seriously, sci-fi where the most advanced weapon is a sword? Meh... =P

huh, I didn't know that. I guess that just reinforces just how you Prism is (Or is she??) compared to the others, given Turbulence and Nightscream both remember the time before.

@ForsytheI can see where you're coming from, and it makes sense. The Star Wars films, at their core, were kids movies. As were the prequels, and this new trilogy. Kids like laser swords, a damsel that can hold her own, a magical power that surrounds them and can only be accessed by a special few. And yeah, with the thousands of years of star wars lore and history (though I guess not anymore considering that Disney wiped the entire expanded universe), the technology is surprisingly stunted. You'd assume that with the time they had to grow and develop, they'd make transporters like on Star Trek at some point.
