Thomas Craven was born a commoner on the land of one of England's lords. By the time he was in his early teens he was a squire for his Lord. With the advent of the third Crusade Thomas left to follow his lord through the duration of the Third Crusade, during the siege of Acre Thomas’ Lord was wounded and Thomas took his place on the battle line. After the siege was successful Thomas earned a Knighthood from King Richard the Lionheart.

By the end of the Third Crusade and the failure to capture Jerusalem meant that the Church would send another wave of Crusaders. This was to be Thomas’ fate; however destiny intervened and a Syrian vampire fighting on Saladin’s side of the war converted Thomas into one of the Infected. Returning to England for the interim years Thomas began building his holdings and house which came with his rise to Knighthood.

With the dawn of the Fourth Crusade Thomas once again took to the field of battle on behalf of England. Following the Fourth Crusade Thomas once again returned to England to continue growing his holdings. It was during the time between the fourth and fifth crusades that Thomas met Marc Ravnos. Until this time Thomas had never had any sort of interaction with the Vampire community of England. For a time Thomas stayed in the company of Marc Ravnos learning what he could from the Elder vampire. Thomas lust for knowledge about vampire society combined with his own impressive collection of artifacts from the middle east and his need to return every time the papacy declared a new crusade caught Marc Ravnos’ attention and finally lead to Thomas joining the Ravnos coven.

The next few centuries Thomas spent traveling the world in pursuit of martial training from the empires that would rise and fall in the next several centuries. As the trips and adventures throughout the Orient and Middle East continued Thomas continued to return to England with codex of every martial technique, weapon, and military strategy he found. In addition he continued to make contacts and forge trade contracts for the Ravnos coven in order to further their research and keep his family safe.

With his return to England in the last week Thomas has finally began to settle into his role as Prelate and vassal to Marc Ravnos. Thomas is a rather likeable and knowledgeable individual with a mild demeanor most of the time. While his calm and largely gentle exterior can bring on a sense that Thomas is a pushover; nothing could be farther from the truth. Thomas is a capable and dangerous soldier; as well as more than a little unhinged from time to time. Thomas holds the strongest loyalty to his monarch and his country; second only to his devotion to Marc Ravnos and his coven. When Thomas is home in England most of his time is spent looking after his estate and working to help his Coven. This largely gives everyone the impression that Thomas is all work and no play; however for Thomas the betterment of his estate, coven and his own knowledge is largely what gives him purpose.
