An evolutionary phase from the common infected. Faster, stronger, and more animal like. Attack on sight, sound, and smell. Their skin is tougher than the common infected.
Travel either alone or in packs of other ferals. They are hunters, and though they can be found amongst the common infected, they prefer their own special type.

Name: Jackals, Spitters, special infected.
Evolutionary phase. Spit deadly toxins that melt human flesh (same substance that started the outbreak in the first place), as well as turn any in the area into infected. Even immune humans turn when directly exposed.
Noticeable by their wide spread jaws.
Rare to see, they travel with common infected and are small in number.
Name: Bloaters. Fatties. Special Infected.
Fat and slow versions of the jackals, though can still produce the toxins. Not from their mouth, but from spores in their body. They are fully covered in the toxins and should not be approached at close range.
Usually just one, in a large group of common infected.

Names: Massives. Tanks. (anything that has to do with large zombies)
Rare to see, there is usually one in any given place. Extremely large, and well...massive. The result of extreme exposure to a singular entity. Strong, fast, and extremely dangerous. Avoid at all costs.

Way off the betan path she was around farm life since she was born, knew how to ride before she could walk and her father took her out hunting when she was seven but never really made her first kill till she was fourteen.
A vary close knit community her family made a living by taking in troubled horses and raising cattle. Being in charge of taking care of the barn and riding a select few horses with her brothers she kept her skills top notch. Loving the creatures all too much it was only natural that she grew up in the family business, going on tour with her father to show off his personal quarter horses while he runs down training routines. Becoming a excellent reining show woman and gamming in things like barrel racing she was as much as a western person as one you would find in a cheesy movie.
Yet having to go to collage for business so she could take over, her brothers moving to the riding circuit and her younger sister leaving to new york, Reena found herself in Seattle for a few years going on scholarship alone. Being in the city she ended up finding the stories of comic books and video games such as the original green lantern, lady death, huntress and any x man following the night crawler. Calling it a guilty pleasure she kept from her parents, even going to conventions when she was able to.
Finding it a better idea to start her own small business where she is, her grandparents ended up getting her a deal for a small piece of six archers that offered free rent so long as she kept it taken care of. She now owns three horses and a mule that she uses in training other animals. A paint mare, mustang gelding, percheron gelding that she thinks the world of.
