Many times I have put an image, or text in the sig, only to have most of it cut off. Hiders can help this, but not by much.

I'm not sure how many others feel this way, or how common this problem is. I know that it might be that way to prevent long loading times, so I'm not asking for a big increase.

So, could you please consider it?

well, the signature image is still there in its full length, it simply has to be scrolled (there's an invisible scrollbar in it).

We don't have @Mahz exact reasoning for the current size on hand, but its a fairly average size that allows for a decent amount of contents while preventing the signatures from taking more space than posts. Its not that hard to crop/resize good images to fit the default height.

On this idea it would not hurt to have the signature size limiter be "deactivated" on a particular instance of a signature if someone clicks a hider within the signature. Of course it would reactivate on a refresh or anything like that.

The height restriction isn't really related to loading times; instead, Mahz implemented it mostly to reduce visual clutter. A signature is just that, a small space that you use to sign the end of all of your posts. It's another way to express yourself, but it shouldn't distract from the content of your post too much.

I've noticed the invisible scroll bar, but only left to right. Is there up and down one? I'm on a moble device (well...an ipad anyway.) does that have an effect?

I like that hider idea. It would be perfect.

There is an effect, but we can't say for sure which one it is. Mostly because we've not looked closely, @Crimson Raven. Its not often enough we feel the need to check through over-sized signatures to check methodically between devices.

There are invisible scrollbars both vertically and horizontally as befits the need.
