Lance went to the market buying some water bottles as well as some pokeballs and an apple. "Alright guys" Lance takes a bite out of the Apple, "I'm ready" he says chewing.

The heroes went north. On the way, they were stopped by a man and a woman. The man was carrying a video camera, and the woman had a microphone. They worked for a TV station. They stopped the heroes and asked to have a double battle with Liam. Liam obliged to the duo who introduced themselves as Gabby and Ty. They sent out a Wismur and a Magnemite. Liam sent out Marshtomp and Grovyle. A Mudshot/Bullet Seed combo floored Magnemite, while Wismur used Uproar. A Grass Pledge/Water Pledge combo finished the Wismur.

"Why, thank you." Liam said. Gabby then asked Liam for a brief interview. Liam agreed.
"You will? Thank you! OK, I need you to describe your feelings about our battle." She also agreed for it to be summed up in one or two words.
"Only one or two words?" Liam asked. "Man, that is hard to say..." He began to ponder for a moment. He then gave a one word reply. Gabby thanked Liam and the two hurried off.

"It sure is," Shiranui agreed. He spotted a blockade near the cable car and with the only way to Lavaridge Town closed off, they'd have to traverse the desert and make their way to Fallarbor Town.

Shiranui donned his goggles and the trio entered the desert, getting buffeted by the sandstorm soon afterwards. He soon spotted a Hippopotas and sent Hoshi out to battle it.
"Hippopotas, the Hippo Pokémon. It enshrouds itself with sand to protect itself from germs. It does not enjoy getting wet."
"Hoshi, Bubble Beam!" The Staryu blasted a big spray of bubbles at Hippopotas and nailed it for a super effective hit. Hippopotas let off a big yawn and Hoshi soon started to feel drowsy before taking damage from the sandstorm. "Great Ball, go!" Shiranui threw a Great Ball and Hippopotas was drawn in. The ball shook three times before letting off a ping barely heard in the sandstorm. He had now caught a Hippopotas, naming it Sunakaba.

"Not bad." Liam commented. As he said that, his foot caught on something and he tripped and fell on his face. "I'm OK.' He said sitting up and spitting sand out of his mouth. He began to dig in the spot and he found two fossils.
