It's just one strike and illusion can be broken via will and realisation, that is why it has to be realistic. Dennis mostly gives an idea, and affected mind comes up with details. And we are the gods, i dont mind if you come up with overpowered idea for a response, i will just have to think the way around it. Well, if you insist, i can rewrite my post into something different.

He grabs not shadow, but energy core that has been used to form a panther. The main ability is energy consumption, and it absorbs all power used to create panthers. In a violent way.
