This roleplay will focus particularly on the lives of people living under both a peaceful, stable dictatorship and those that live a rebellious life, resisting this dictatorship. We will be playing chunins exclusively meaning that, if you want to play a rogue shinobi that goes around killing people, you won't be able to do that in this roleplay. 

This roleplay will feature mature content in the sense of gore and violence. This is Naruto. However, it is Naruto of the first and second war periods - war isn't nice. 

Furthermore there will be a small amount of slice of life involved. We want to offer your character the chance to grow in the sense that not everything they do has to involve combat. Falling in love is real, and it happens to shinobi too.

These are warnings ahead of time. If you don't want to participate in the RP due to these focuses, then thank you for your time, and best of luck in other roleplays.

S ᴇ ᴛ ᴛ ɪ ɴ ɢ

■ C ᴀ ɴ ᴏ ɴ ?

The setting of Naruto: Unity or Freedom takes place approximately 200 years after the the deaths of Boruto and Sarada. The specific time period is not of any relevance in this scenario, however it should be noted that this universe takes place in another universe, and therefore it is up to the GM's discretion to alter or change any canon events as they see fit in order to benefit the story and/or setting. You should not expect any changes in canon however. This is just so I can have creative freedoms if I need to. For the purpose of creating a character sheet, all canon shall remain canon.

■ T ᴇ ᴄ ʜ ?

Due to the year being 200 years after the deaths of Boruto and Sarada, many technological advances have been made. There are now small amounts of trucks, motorcycles and cars. However, these are reserved for the wealthy, and a shinobi should not expect to own any of these amenities. Furthermore, there are no 'M4's' or such, since shinobi with automatic rifles would be hilarious, but ultimately not Naruto. It should be of little impact on the actual task of shinobi or their lifestyles. The only difference is that the skyscrapers we saw in Amegakure previously are now prevalent in other villages as well. That's about it.

■ P ᴏ ʟ ι ᴛ ι ᴄ s ?

Politically the world has changed as well. This is the primary change and perhaps the most important one. Given Naruto unified the shinobi world (or rather, the kage's did, because lets face it, Naruto didn't do much other than spread the word of peace and love) that change will continue and will have expanded. 

Between the rule of Naruto Uzumaki as hokage, and the rule of Sarada as hokage, the different shinobi villages (and their respective countries) unified more and more, with new governmental organizations being created to facilitate the unification. The countries became less and less independent, until a figure appeared that took control of Amegakure. Amegakure was at this time the center of the countries, and therefore was the capital of all international organizations. 

By persuasive and diplomatic means this figure then took control over all the independent countries following the bloody coup d'etat that took place in Konohagakure in which a powerful figure was assassinated, as well as an attempt on the life of the dictator that ruled there as hokage. Complicity of this figure that now controlled large amounts of the world politically was suspected but never proven. As Konohagakure was the last beacon of independence, other villages were soon conquered politically and diplomatically without a single drop of blood being shed. ... of course, opponents were rid of silently behind the scenes.

The new country would unify all of the world, and it became known as the Hamajō Confederation. Former countries were now labeled as provinces and this new government took seat in Amegakure, annexing small parts of surrounding countries to grow Amegakure's powerbase. Following the annexation of all villages and countries, peace followed, or did it?

Shorthand: 'Jiyutai'

The Jiyuna no Guntai ('Army of the Unfettered') is the rebellious army that objects to, and actively fights against, the rulership of the Hamajō Confederation. Although they lack a consistent leadership and consist of multiple smaller groups of shinobi, the general leadership of the organization is lead by the most powerful of these shinobi. This shinobi has unified all of the rebels under the banner of the Jiyuna no Guntai, and is now organizing effective and efficient strikes against the Hamajō infrastructure. 

While they lack numerical superiority, they are made up of.. interesting ranges of people. Their underdog position means they have had to accept shinobi of all walks of life. While the largest staying force of the Jiyuna no Guntai are regular shinobi that dislike the Hamajō Confederation, there are some of less pleasant backgrounds, such as rogue shinobi, that reach up to jonin levels and higher in regards to their strength. But even the Jiyuna no Guntai have their limits, and they do fight rogue nin if they are deemed a danger to the security of other villages, despite the fact that the Jiyuna no Guntai are technically fighting these villages.

Shorthand: 'The Confederation'

The Hamajo Confederation, despite what Jiyu propaganda would like people to think, is a stable and relatively peaceful confederation that focuses on increasing the prosperity of all people under their rule. While their criminal justice system is somewhat arbitrary, and perhaps too efficient (read: brutal and cruel) they do a good job at maintaining public order. Their leadership rules with an iron fist and whatever they say goes. 

Although there are many critical thinkers that critique the Confederation, they are quickly shut up. A detailed, efficient and brutally effective secret military group called the 11th corps makes sure that anyone that thinks ill of the Hamajo Confederation is arrested and interrogated. If it is deemed necessary, they are liquidated to protect the public order as well as the face of the Confederation.

They have not named the Jiyuna no Guntai 'Jiyuna no Guntai' once in their public statement - in the eyes of the Confederation, the Jiyuna no Guntai are little more that criminals, rebel scum that needs to be eradicated. So far this has not been a prime concern, as up until recently the Jiyuna no Guntai have been unable to deliver any large strikes, but this is about to change.

■ T ι ᴍ ᴇ ?

Although time isn't too important for the RP, there are some points I would like to accentuate. The Hamajōc confederation has existed in it's current form for approximately eleven years, give or take a few months. That means that most chunin (read: your characters) will have experienced the coup d'etat in Konohagakure as a child. Despite not being from Konohagakure (unless they are) this could have had an impact on your characters. Furthermore over the last five years, the Hamajō Confederation has been tightening it's control over peoples opinions and thoughts, with people who are too outspoken and critical of the Confederation being questioned. Some are never heard of again. As such your character may know of this or have experienced it or even partaken in the job of interrogating people that were questionable in nature. Keep in mind chunins would not deal with anyone that was a innocent person that was just asking too many questions, but would deal with criminals mostly.

Previous experiences with GMing Naruto roleplays have shown we need rules because people are fuckboys/fuckgirls and will just straight up be annoying if left unchecked. These are here for me and you.

■ I C ?

✘Beware gore.
Yes this is a dark, gritty roleplay. No, your character should not bathe in blood.

✘Sexual content = PM.
Like above, it is mature content and allowed. But it's not allowed in public setting (RPG rules). Please take it to PMs if it occurs and you both want to write smut (dirty kids).

✘Characters die.
Dark, gritty, yeah you get the point. If your character dies by GM decision, we will discuss with you beforehand. Don't complain if it happens. Inactives = death.

✘Love happens.
We're not SJW police or alt-right assholes so make whatever love you want to happen happen. I don't care. Love is stupid.

■ O O C ?

✘No godmod, powerplay, or 'creative roleplaying'
Fucking standard shit guys, you should know this kinda stuff.

✘No perfect characters
Gary Stu and Mary Stu are not invited to this roleplay so don't try and sneak them by us.

✘GM's have final say
Don't like this rule because you think I'm an asshole? Good. Please don't join, it saves us both a headache. Otherwise, feel free to argue with me if you think you can raise a valid point in a respectful manner.

2-3 solid paragraphs is really the bare minimum here.

If you cannot post for a week, let us know. We want consistency. We're looking at 1 post per 1-3 days. If you can not manage that, do not apply.

✘Create a chunin
Everyone except for people who I know from the previous RP's will start as a chunin. If I have special need for a jonin, I will ask you if I trust you to make one.

✘Be diverse, be dynamic
I am Dutch. We are known to be blunt. My co-GM is blunt too. If we don't like something we will say it. Don't be set in stone. If we say no, come up with something else.

✘No tailed beasts or sage mode.
These are earned in the IC and then awarded by the GM's involving a special mission for this character, in order to gain some idea of character progress, rather than just writing in random power-ups.

✘(Custom) Kekkei Genkai/hiden are to be made unique.
Copying an existing kekkei genkai/hiden just to make it superior to the 'original' will not be allowed. Also, no elemental control. If you want to control fire, go roleplay Avatar. (Nothing wrong with Avatar, but this is Naruto)

✔One exception
Just because these rules are here does not mean we don't break them. If you have an interesting concept for a character that can control water, do ask (in OOC or PM) because I am always open to ideas. Just beware that I'm gonna be real critical, and call you a lame-o for wanting it.

■ W ʜ ʏ ? 

Because Naruto is a diverse world with diverse techniques, with some more balanced than others, we have chosen to make several rulesets for characters for each rank. This is to avoid situations with, for example, a chunin who has the rinnegan, fighting some chunin who barely has a single B rank technique. It's also to avoid broken jutsu, such as Flying Thunder God, being used to cheese fights. It might seem like a fun thing to give your characters, especially if they have a historical reason for having that jutsu. And I agree, it's a fun niché thing that makes it more interesting. But looking at pro's and con's for these kind of jutsu, we have to decide that ultimately it's not worth it, because that means your jutsu will give you pleasure, but it will detract that of those that go up against your character, or those that wanted something similar but got denied. It's put in place to avoid bad situations where two people cannot reach an ultimatum about fights. Simple as that. We do not accept arguments about these things, they're set in stone. If however you can give us a good reason in a respectful discussion, we might consider.

If you feel like your character might have, for instance, an extra A-rank jutsu.. that's possible. We might accept that if you can justify it to us in a PM or in an OOC comment. For example, two A-rank jutsu that form a combo, but are otherwise not that useful, is perfectly acceptable. But if you justify it by saying 'Oh he's a prodigy, he was like Sasuke and is just super cool like that.' then we're not even gonna reply.

Note: Kage-level characters will not be judged on their jutsu lists or anything of the sort, they will be judged on identity: are they interesting, are they worthy of the kage-level stamp and do they serve a good, useful purpose? That's because once you reach jonin status, it becomes really quite easy to pass into kage-level areas, and beyond kage there are no ranks. That means the power levels within kage-level characters fluctuate heavily.

When the Hamajō Confederation rose to power, the remnants of the armies that fought in the great wars were scattered, and still feuding over previous conflicts. They were killing each other, these remnants, over issues that were no longer present. But slowly the realization set in that - perhaps - they were only slaughtering allies against a greater enemy, an enemy that would gladly see these remnants slaughter each other. From this realization was born the Jiyuna no Guntai - Army of the Unfettered.

The Jiyuna no Guntai is what the army of rebels that fight against the Confederation calls themselves. While they are small in numbers, they are a growing power and recently became more unified after a certain shinobi took power in these rebellious groups and unified them, centralizing control.. as far as that is possible. Shinobi leaders cling to power, and some groups cooperate better than others. Never the less, they're becoming bigger, stronger, and will soon be able to strike more effectively and force the Confederation to take them seriously. 

The Jiyutai accepts anyone who can proves they are trustworthy and loyal to the cause. This means that rogue shinobi, upon proving they are to be trusted and are loyal, can get accepted. However, since the main force of the Jiyutai is just regular shinobi, this has not been a great cause of concern so far.

Shorthand: the Confederation

Perhaps they call us tyrants, and perhaps they are right. But look me in my eyes and tell me I do not supply for my people - tell me I do not protect them from evil - tell me I do not try my hardest to keep together these god forsaken people to teach them true value in life. Tell me that. Tell me what is tyranny? Is it when I use force to protect those close to me, my children? Is it when I care for those under my wings? If so, then I am the biggest tyrant. But the people don't know that and they don't need to know. THAT is how we rule, and that is how we make sure the Hamajō Confederation has stayed alive all these years.

The Hamajō Confederation is the current ruling state in the world - all former countries are either provinces or special protectorates. In theory, those are two different things, but in practice these have become one and the same thing - only matters of prestige for governors and the like. The Hamajō Confederation has for that reason become a rather strong figure in people's daily life's, and that isn't necessarily 100% positive. It's not a secret that the Hamajō Confederation uses not an iron fist, but a steel fist imprinted with diamond studs on the knucles, to keep down troublemakers and criminals alike. And it's not hard to be a criminal in the confederation - there are many things made illegal nowadays to 'streamline society into an organised community of like minded individuals who wish for nothing but the best.'

Never the less life has flourished - to a degree, and depending on where you live and how influential you are - there is plenty of food to go around and reported crime is at an all time low. That said corruption is rather common in the Hamajō Confederation at the higher levels of the government, given that there is really nobody to oppose the corruption. Most shinobi however, are still very honorable.

The forces of the Hamajō Confederation are more or less the forces that keep everything in check - after all the police cannot be trusted entirely when it comes to bribery, and there are simply some matters, especially political, that are better left to shinobi. You can't trust a policeman to.. take care of a loud politician, can you?

After some wars back in history, several powerful shinobi took power in most of the villages and enforced their own 'laws'. These shinobi called themselves Keihatsu - the Enlightened, led by Kusaru and her mysterious henchman Gian. This was the beginning of the confederation, as these powerful shinobi saw each other more as allies than enemies, with a sceptical view ofcourse. The focus wasn't on gaining more power for themselves, and less for the other rulers, but more on retaining and maintaining power for all the rulers. Over the years this turned into a state where the former states were transformed into nation provinces. The Confederation is what evolved from that in the process described before.

■ P ʀ ᴏ ᴠ ι ɴ ᴄ ᴇ s ?

♛Amegakure - Capital
Amegakure was created as the seat of the confederation. It was central in the mainlands, and as such it was seen as a tying knot between the other provinces. To make sure that Amegakure was equipped properly to match it's power to the rest of the provinces, large pieces of lands were seized from surrounding countries to ensure it was a similar, or atleast respectable size compared to the rest..

♖Konoha - province
The Konoha province is seen as the most profitable province, and even though large tracks of land were seized for the purpose of strengthening Amegakure, it is still a military powerhouse. It is a calm region however, and it's a primary source for the confederations shinobi, given that it supplies 30% of all recruits in the confederations forces.

♖Kumo - province
The Kumo province is home to the poorest in the Confederation. There is very little that they can offer for sale in the confederation borders and most people living here are simply self-sustaining farmers. That said they have a fearsome military, rivaling the Konoha province. They supply 26% of the shinobi in the confederations forces, proving themselves to be capable of military prowess if nothing else.

♙Suna - province
The Suna province is to a certain degree simply there. The large deserts aren't worth that much in the eyes of Amegakure, the main seat of the confederation. For the most part they are autonomous, and are expected to simply do their job and nothing more.

♙Iwa - province
The Iwa province, with it's mountains, is the primary provider of resources to the confederation. Most of these are shipped directly to the Konoha province where they are sold to producers for any kind of production chain. While it's not the most wealthy, it sees it's fair share of the money. 

...Kiri - province
The Kiri province is not so much a province as much as it's a desolate island. 11 years ago during the 'war' to form the confederation the island was massacred by covert forces, and when the Confederation took over, the island was simply never repopulated. The island was declared inhospitable and access is generally not allowed to civilians. However, military patrols and squadrons have been spotted by fishermen, entering the island, however that was always written off as standard patrols. We wouldn't want criminals taking up refuge on that island, would we?

♗Remaining prefectures
Areas that weren't large enough to be made into full-scale provinces were often sold off as prefectures to the highest bidder. Investors often included Yakuza bosses, industrial owners, and political figures that were hoping to govern well and make a name for themselves. While the land was sold, that doesn't mean it became independent. However the regions are autonomous and are only expected to pay the taxes and pay military tribute when it is required. The owners were free to build and govern however they wished as long as Confederate laws weren't broken.

Sometimes villages were built and governed, sometimes factories were built, and sometimes the people living there were removed for a small fee to make place for grand palaces for rich people.

♦  Appearance--
With adulthood, Aoi had her look adapt to her new circumstances, giving a lot less of a child-like impression and one more akin to a woman thriving in her life. To start off, she dedicated her look to her usage name she employs in her job by dyeing her hair sky blue, going along perfectly with her naturally blue colored, dazzling eyes. The way she styles her hair varies depending on trends and demands from her current position, as of now she keeps the look on the picture as it is Myaka Shouho's main hairstyle these days. Untied they reach the middle of her back.

She appears to be rather well pampered with quality makeup on during any of her outings and attires that are mostly seen on big shot magazines. Quite often with eye capturing colors, she purposely takes a more flashy appearance to please the demand of her viewers and accomplish her daily motives within the Confederation's News Network and Public Relations. In more casual circumstances where she either doesn't want to be recognized or is fighting, she's wearing a pair of high-heeled white boots, black jeans with a combat bet containing multiple small pouches, a black tank top and a white jacket over it.

Her stature is rather small, but only 151 cm in height and rather light, she doesn't bode the muscle mass of many of her shinobi peers, but such bulk would only trample on her style. Her petite silhouette does demonstrate minuscule levels of strength, but her body is rightly trained in the art of gymnastics and flexibility. A malleable body that can adapt to many situations and adopt techniques a lot easier than one geared to toning muscle.

A glass cannon that relies on tricks and agility. Her flexibility is far beyond the average shinobi's, which says a lot. Aoi is capable of contorting herself in ways that make it very difficult for her to remain bound to more or less anything for an extended period of time. She has very little physical strength as she is petite and her muscle mass remains small.

♥  Personality--
Once a bubbly airhead, Aoi had since matured a whole lot since the war, becoming a lot more conscious of what she says and how she behaves around people. That said, she is a very illuminating and energetic presence, absolutely impossible to miss within a crowd or an occupied room. She still oozes positive aura despite what happened in Konoha 11 years back, searching for ways to make the situation better for everyone. While still having a need to be the center of everything, she did learn to let her attention gobbling and egocentric desires a rest. Nonetheless, she doesn't mind discussing various things she's achieved and something cut people off to express her sometimes misinformed opinion. She means well, but Aoi isn't one to be completely self-conscious either.

Because of this, she can't be a social butterfly, but her powerful presence makes for unique charm and charisma to both sexes and her eloquence as a performer allowed her to gain access to positions that were only available in her dreams. Even things she doesn't quite understand, at all, she can make them convincing enough with the right look and her way of expressing it. A crowd pleaser for sure, all this attention and success have gone up to her behavior however. Now a seductress of the highest caliber, she doesn't mind dressing sexy to seduce those of the fairer sex she deems attractive. In spite of this, she's truly looking for someone she could end up with but fails to produce the exact result her now complex mind expects.

The biggest enigma about Aoi would be her her brains, her intelligence. Although brainy with random trivia, she isn't the brightest one of the bunch that's for sure. Her vocabulary isn't too large and sometimes says things she just doesn't know the definition of. She's also ignorant when it comes to understanding more complex issues linked together and has trouble associating ideas, in a sense she isn't the most logical person either. This however comes into question when she clearly demonstrates creativity that surpasses a lot of conditioned shinobi. In the field, she is particularly efficient, at the level of her Prodigy counterpart Yamato, with usually very crafty and deceptive tactics used to finish off any type of foe. She doesn't outsmart them, but she pulls off the most unexpected of things while holding a large amount of skill.  

Despite this, Aoi is something that is easily influenced and holds her situation dearly. Meaning she can be manipulated through things like morals and people's views on her, as yes she actually cares about what people think. She is indeed loyal to the Confederation, but it can be broken given the right initiative by the opposing forces.

♥  History--
Before the Hamajō reign:
Like many children living in an era of poverty in smaller countries, Aoi was abandoned by her parents a few hours after her birth. Fortunately the parents didn't randomly leave her at a home but instead confided her to the renown Don Maquia troupe as they passed the country. They knew leaving an abandoned child there would motivate them to keep it, as it was how they usually made staff. 

And so, she was raised in a gypsy-esque environment where travelling was frequent and work was every day, no real weekend. As she grew up, Jouro Don Maquia would not cut her some slack and initiated her to the realities of labor and hardships, but she never really complained as it felt normal to her. It didn't mean she was devoid of any fun, if anything fun was something they managed to develop during work and practice for performances. Usually by mixing the two, Aoi and her closest friend Mia had fun doing their chores while doing various acrobatic acts. She was happy with what she had, and couldn't care less about her biological parents.

At one point, she'd be initiated to one of the troupe's secrets, a special way to manipulate chakra without being unique. She had a strong affinity for water, being from the Rain village, and naturally developed the abilities to hide in water and rain, but she had no knowledge of chakra otherwise. The basics were learned through usual practice, walking on water impressed many civilians, so it was general practice, substitution made great magic effects, fake clones too and so on. Chakra was something that enabled great success for the troupe, however the true secret revealed to Aoi's specific affinity would be her mucus ability. With it, she'd easily impress her audience while being exceptionally flexible in most domains. Initially, it wasn't meant to be a weapon, but through creativity, she managed to defend herself from low bandits trying to rob the troupe. 

Eventually reaching Konoha, multiple Jounin took notice of her unique capabilities that they had never seen before and offered her the chance to become a ninja. Realizing how it would approach her to her goal, she righteously accepted and moved on as a Genin without any Academy training (she was more than capable in entry levels). The only problem would be that she'd be unable to read and write, causing problems to her superiors. Sure she managed to learn most of it, but she isn't quite efficient at it, being a slow reader and writing so poorly it's barely comprehensible. She easily learns new lingo, however.


After the Hamajō reign:
Many events in Konoha honed her as a shinobi, built her as a lover and ascended her as a potential star. The war swept all that away, her skills were no match, her lover drowned into despair and all she worked for was tuned into ash by this coming of a new world. Disoriented and lost, she clung onto her falling girlfriend, Akio, who took the events extremely badly. Occasional abuse in multiple ways and the general change of behavior from the older one of the couple ended up infuriating the now disillusioned Aoi and prompted her to simply abandon the wreck once and for all. 

She hated this new world, it changed everything, and her naive self liked how things were. Now it was all controlled and safe, no risk worthwhile or a crowd to please as everyone was too busy to recover. Or so she thought. In reality her talents were exactly what the populace needed in this time of rapid reconstruction and loss. She had lost her masters, her friends and her lover, but the Phoenix would rise from its ashes and burn brighter than ever. Making a small reputation, she'd make herself known by higher generals of the Confederation, including Ryuu and Yakoul. Though she had potential, the genius that is Ryuu saw how malleable her mind was and simply offered something she couldn't refuse. 

Along with Yamato, she's one of the higher shinobi in the Confederate entourage, though she also holds a prime position in the Presidents inner circle. She doesn't have a voice in the matters, but she stands as the head of public relations, the face of the Government when the President isn't the one making declarations. To add to that, she's been given the position of primary news anchor for the Government's main news channel, or at least the most popular one, and is often given the ability to host other shows sponsored by the same channel. Because of this, Aoi's become a rather relevant icon to the Confederation.

At a point during her career, she chose the name Fuegushi as surname to replace her previous one as a step through grief. Indeed, upon learning the fact that her childhood troupe had been missing now for years without a trace, she finally accepted they were permanently gone.

♥  Familial ties--
Aoi's ties are rather strange to say the least. She wasn't raised by ordinary parents, but rather grew up as a carny along with the entire Don Maquia troupe. Her relationship with them is worthy of a sibling-type relation, as they grew up with her since she was in diapers. They did not object to her ambition of becoming a famous ninja, having formed her for such usage in any case. They continue to support her through letters and regular visits at Konoha.
As of now, the troupe has been missing since the end of the war, many consider them dead, including Aoi who grieved them.

Guru | Pet | 19, In Aoi's big house, Aoi's attributed animal she had to raise. It is an elephant she often uses in her performances in the troupe. 

Akio Tendou | Ex-Lover | 29, Not here, Aoi's first girlfriend after changing her love interest paradigm. The relationship ended little after the end of the war as Aoi was simply fed up with her bullshit.

♠  Combat style--
Sporadic and relying a lot of deceit to defeat her foes with grace. Aoi holds the idea of making her fights a spectacle, a show to be enjoyed, as such her fighting style has new been geared to manipulate the way they perceive things while making it a powerful experience for everything, whether it is good or bad. She uses her creative skills to have Genjutsu applied in the most unsuspecting of ways and circumstances, making her almost unbelievably difficult to reach at times. 

She enjoys employing her Hiden since it is her only ninjutsu weapon and often times only solely rely on it when going on the offensive. This isn't to be confused with the idea that she is a potent fighter up close. Though she prefers mid rage considering none of her abilities are efficient at long range and her small frame makes her vulnerable to close quarters, she is very well versed in taijutsu as a former circus clown and performer. Agile and swift with reflexes typical of an expert in the senses, she easily uses her martial arts skills to use the enemy's strength against them and lay them flat quickly.

Mucus Surprise!

♠ Description
Although not a true bloodline limit, very few in the world are able to master this ability. Essentially it requires initiation from birth and at least an affinity to water, thus it can be classed as a form of Hiden. Rare societies such as the Don Maquia troupe have maintained its secrets. Basically, it enables the wielder to turn their chakra into different form of oozing mucus that can take the form of different imagined objects and have the properties of things such as rubber or gum. The possibilities are quite huge but the product coming from it is thick liquid-like substance that almost always sticks.

♠ Strengths
Generally it keeps the properties of rubber and gum, making it not only dangerously adhesive but strongly resistant to kinetic force coming from blunt strikes. When used as a medium to trap others, it is surprisingly lethal and effective. Strongly resistant to burns as it is originally made of water, conducts electricity poorly due to composition however.

♠ Weaknesses
Generally easy to cut through depending on the mass and density, which only require extra strength put into cuts. Those with superior physical strength can resist the stickiness to a great extent, even break it under conditions.

■	Description
	A transparent strand of mucus is created from her body and can be released from any point she desires. The strand itself can have one end stuck against a target she had contact with as much as she can have it latch onto something from a distance (by pointing at it or something similar). While being transparent, it has little to no texture and can barely be felt if touching the skin due to its lack of smell, taste or consistency. This mucus, however, is dangerous for many reasons. It can contract and release whenever Aoi desires (its her chakra after all), the contraction being exceptionally powerful like a form of 'super-rubber', allowing her to pull our push relatively heavy thing by simply connecting the strand to her index finger. The strength and weight of the target will determine the amount of chakra is demands for the contraction strength. She can also transfer it from her finger to say another target and have it contact, causing one or both the targets to be pulled and hit each other. She can use up to fifteen at once. They can be easily cut, however they do not vanish, making them susceptible to being reattached at any moment. Ripping it off would be logical, however if it was to contract, it would be relatively futile.
On lighter objects, it can tighten itself to a point where it can act like a chakra thread, manipulating said smaller objects at will, though that doesn't mean she can be as precise as a puppet master.

■	Description
	A technique developed during the time when Aoi was under evaluation for "Jonin confirmation". Given the lack of examination, she was put under Katsu Hyuuga's care for testing. Forming a type of student - teacher bond, they grew accustomed to each other's abilities and were able to create this technique. Utilizing the same principles as the soft fist fighting style, Aoi either uses the tip of her fingers or the pointed knuckles of her major fingers to "spray" raw mucus chakra. Unlike Hyuuga, she cannot pinpoint it on either tenketsu or on organs to have a result, but she can have the raw chakra pierce through armor (still requires contact) and flesh and have it take solid form a second later. The result is mucus chakra clogging primarily the nervous system and somewhat of the chakra system (mostly efficient on members).
If hitting an arm for instance, the nervous messages from let's say the elbow if hit there down to the hands will be blocked, essentially paralyzing the forearm. With the body, hitting the abdomen or the chest strongly reduces mobility to the point where coordination is difficult (members remain normal), the more it is hit the more one will feel exhausted. If the spine, neck or head are hit, they are instantly paralyzed. No matter where, the effects of each hit lasts for two posts. They are also very easy to counter with a strong punch considering Aoi's poor strength, making it an ability extremely efficient but ridiculously risky. The fact that it can just be substituted with a simple stab also gears this to a more non-lethal approach.

■	Description
	Possibly the most terrifying jutsu used by Aoi and the 'magician's secret' she's never revealed to the public. This is a genjutsu that requires that her chakra enters into contact with an opponent, either via contact or through ninjutsu. With this done, the magic can begin. The victims become completely blind to Shinobi magic and are unable to see or feel Aoi's chakra, and by extension, the forms they take. Any form of ninjutsu she uses will appear strangely, but she'll often make it appear as though they're part of something else, like a trick to deceive the opponent and make them weary. Sensors can see their own chakra as well as chakra in Aoi's body, but not what comes out of it, as such they can see they're under a genjutsu, but when are they not with Aoi?

	Can reach up to 20 meters (tentacles)

■	Description
	Using the same cloth as employed during her disappearing tricks, Aoi twists and turns the handkerchief with blinding speed (such as a clown making a balloon animal) until it forms a hollow Octopus with a ^0^ face. It would only be when she tosses it while doing the Ram seal that it suddenly gets filled with a mass of mucus in it. It becomes about 2 feet in height and holds eight tentacles likes a regular octopus. They aren't very mobile and are generally very slow, however their tentacles extend rather quickly and can catch someone off guard. The mucus in the tentacles serves as a form of suction cup that keeps what it captures stuck in a tight bind similar to Gooey Surprise (with same limits). The Mister Spodes can easily glues themselves to the ground to prevent enemies from dragging them, essentially making them very useful seals to non-superhuman fighters. They die when their head it damaged (to the point where it leaks). Aoi can make up to four of them per fight and they can also be used as body replacement dummies. They also have a very eerie tendency to wail 'Boyoyoyoyon' quite often, no one knows how this is possible.

■	Description
	Essentially shadow clone technique applied on mucus. The clones are composed of strange, green mucus and are able to move like regular people. They can also use mucus abilities with half the power of the original (in exception to techniques higher in rank than this one). When they die, they explode into a heavy mass of mucus that sticks onto anything around them, hence their use as suicide bombers to hinder the movements of an opponent. Up to seven can be made per fight.

■	Description
	A genjutsu that depends on smell related activation. Because Aoi constantly wears a high quality Lavender perfume that ca be smelled from multiple meters away, she she exploits that fact to make it extremely hard to detect. In this circumstance, she performs a single hand seal, often doing it after doing another jutsu to make the enemy believe only one jutsu was made, but she actually makes her chakra adopt an aroma the same as her perfume. The smell is strong but hardly noticeable due to it being normal in her presence, but  it deeply affects the perception of the people infected. In this case, everything they perceive will be inverted in direction, left is right, up is down. They will see everything this way, but the reality of it will be the contrary. The victim can pick up on it as they can also hear the real version attacking in the opposite side (as well as sense it via chakra sensing), but the illusion remains overwhelmingly real, and without a release, their reflexes will likely make them sloppier as it would seem as though they are genuinely attacked from the illusion.

■	Description
	A Genjutsu that is activated whenever the patterns on her umbrella are seen as they hold a hypnotic effect combined with her chakra. The effects allow her to create a replica of herself between 0 m to 1 m away from her, no matter the side. It will mimic movements typical of Aoi, however the true Aoi is completely replaced by the false one. This is usually made to confuse close range attackers, making them think she is capable of dodging everything before taking the right opportunity to strike. This can also be used to simply confuse any form of attacker into hitting the false image while th real remains concealed. Exceptionally deadly if the genjutsu isn't noticed fast enough. The image can of course move around as long as Aoi is in the perimeter.

■	Description
	Aoi forms a small ball of Yin chakra and simply tosses it in the air or on the nearby ground, only to have it pop like fireworks or a firecracker. The flash is so bright, it works as a flashbang. The effects are simple, those exposed regain their sight extremely fast, the flash was barely a millisecond, but they'll feel an endless buzzing sound in their ears with nothing else and the world around them frozen in time. Everything looks like the instant before the bang went out. Evidently a Genjutsu, it is easy to notice and Kai out.

■	Description
	A much more developed variation of the transformation technique. Indeed, the user covers themselves with a gooey layer of mucus capable of taking different shapes and sizes, colors and textures. The mucus is highly adhesive though, enough to make it act like quicksand: The more there's resistance, the deeper it gets, though it cannot be that deep because of Aoi's thin figure. It is very useful for trapping though not too specialized in hand to hand combat. Those specialized can use their techniques to break free with relative ease, though it doesn't mean that they're immune to the immediate effects. It doesn't give immunity to heat either, though it does slightly reduce overall damage, along with any other type of damage really.

■	Description
	By either using a specific hand sign or inhaling things like pepper, Aoi sneezes large mucus bubbles capable of swallowing more than one individual. The larger that it can get would be as large as a horse. Those trapped inside can easily pop it, however it would result in the bubble imploding, not only causing strong pressure to hit their bodies, rendering most to a rather confused and head aching state, while being covering in dense mucus stuck on the ground. This also causes smaller, human size bubbles to take shape. If the popping is made from outside, the explosion is general and hits everyone except those inside.

■	Description
	A strange variant of the shadow clone technique. It's C ranking is justified by the fact that it first requires an individual other than Aoi for it to work (PC or NPC). Setting just a small amount of mucus chakra onto them, it would suck out a small amount of their innate chakra to give birth to five "clones" of themselves. These clones are not capable of complex actions and cannot be manipulated through mind by Aoi. They are disconnected from her, but they will listen to simple commands such as 'pursue' or 'attack'. They cannot perform jutsu and their movements are sloppy. However killing them is only possible by delivering fatal strikes (which isn't hard due to their inability to dodge or block, an explosive tag boom can kill most near the epicenter and disable the others). They can't hold weapons either as their attention is completely dedicated to one simple action. They are, however, unable to become tired in the time span of a normal fight, and will endlessly pursue their goal. Their strength is of an average person's, which makes them dangerous in groups. Aoi can make about two hundred of them at her High Jonin level.

■	Description
	Aoi can force someone else to adopt her appearance or someone else's through contact. This lasts for about ten minutes, long enough to completely multiple average fights. Especially efficient for distractions.

■	Description
	A strange, light blue umbrella Aoi carries around with her. It appears to be the type en vogue these days, but her's holds a strange butterfly-like black pattern on it which enables one of her genjutsu. The handle can be removed to revealed a concealed blade, slightly shorter than a rapier. This Umbrella is capable of releasing a powerful kinetic force at close range when opened, making it capable of repelling powerful projectiles without even a recoil when the timing is right, making some unsuspecting close rangers stumble back in surprise as well. It is chakra enhanced and its fabric is strangely durable yet thin.

	A set of playing cards forged to be as sharp as a kunai, however lighter and more malleable. They are easier to use but weak in one on one blade fights as their small weight makes them easy to break through. They are perfect for assassination and tactically placed hits, however.

	The three of clubs containing a seal capable of releasing three explosive tag cards when activated. All that is required is for Aoi to point at the card once it is set before it releases the three tags and has them explode immediately after. Because of the quantity of explosives, they are to be considered dangerous even for stronger shinobi.

❖  Appearance--
Seichirō's facial features tell the tale of an unconventional allure. His green eyes, accompanied by a rather tanned skin complexion are a recipe for a lifetime of bullying and image issues, but somehow they work on him. He also has a scar that intercepts the bridge of his nose and touches upon his cheeks, a reminder of his childhood shenanigans. So far, the young Roga has experimented with two different hairstyles - the overgrown, messy one that's depicted in the picture, and an undercut. He mostly prefers the latter.

Seichirō's body is lean with a slight muscle definition, as expected from a chūnin-level shinobi. He has tattoos similar to one another in his biceps - they depict daggers, or at least that's what he was led to believe. He doesn't always cover his arms with bandages, only when there is a risk that he could be identified. He favors casual clothing when he's not in a mission, ranging from jeans to sweatpants to loose-fitting shirts. When on duty, he utilizes that same red combat suit that's shown above, maybe with minor changes [sometimes his headband is on his head, sometimes on his waist - what can I say, he's a nuanced fella]. He sports a pair of black boots, designed to be light in weight so as to make traversing through different areas a chore. His footwear when off duty consists of sandals or sneakers, depending on the weather. You may also occasionally catch him rocking a beanie.

Seichirō's muscle mass is barely noticeable, if even existent. He is lean, he is ripped, all part of his grueling shinobi training. However, none of these features can be detected by the naked eye, especially since he buries himself under a pile of clothes. One noticeable trait are his calves. Even though his cynicism and ruthlessness have been genetically transmitted to him by his ancestors, he is a rather affectionate and friendly person, relatively speaking. He doesn't bolt at the opportunity of forming bonds, but he appreciates the ones he has successfully made over the years. 

Another feature that makes him unique from his own clan members is his ambition. His dreams of single handedly undoing decades of oppression and neglect are very unrealistic considering the circumstances, but even then, Seichirō approaches the subject matter with such a healthy dose of pragmatism that it actually makes you believe he's gonna someday do it. It's not to say that his clan's poor social standing has not affected his psyche. It actually has done terrible things to his self-confidence. His impressive intellect has enabled him to construct a variety of different, working plans and solutions to different situations. However, nine times out of ten, he's kept those out of public sight, fearing someone might sneer in his face.

Seichirō's insecurities do not manifest themselves as they do with most. He's not shy and bookish; he's rather fierce and talkative. He also employs sarcasm, which started as a defense mechanism and soon evolved into a form of psychological combat. He never misses a chance to toss over an armor piercing taunt towards his opponents while he is very careful to keep those to a minimum when with friends or colleagues. 

The young Roga has no pronounced verbal tics, but he does use endearing terms like "cupcake", "sweet pea", "muffin" and other nouns as part of what he likes to call "mother talk". He rarely uses these to display affection and they're mostly there to highlight his sarcastic personality. He is rather analytical, off and on duty and his observation skills are way above average. He is not one to punch above his weight, knowing when and when not to go for a retreat.

❖  History--
Seichirō was born in November 5th on the grounds of the Roga Estate, north of Konoha, following a birth characterized by several complications. It took 37 hours for baby Roga to make the decision to leave the womb, a decision which he regrets to this day. While they haven't been vocal, the strained birth could very well be what made his parents opt to say NO to more children, even though they were pretty young at the time and had an entire life ahead of them. Growing up, he was not the most energetic kid in the neighborhood. His mother, Tomori, never had any trouble with putting him to a beauty sleep, much to the envy of her friends and peers. As such, both his parents took his mature behavior for granted and never bothered to supervise him. And eventually that backfired.

He was five years old at the time. His father came home from work and tossed over all his equipment on a corner. He wasn't sure why, but the kunai knife which was visible in his bag touched a string in his childish mind and he went for it. The Roga household rumbled with the shrieks of kid Seichirō. He had inadvertently caused himself great pain, a gash expanding from his nose, blood gushing down his torso. It was an ugly sight to behold. From there on, his parents switched up their methods to another extreme. They employed helicopter parenting. Whenever Seichirō went, he either had his mother, his father or a clan member chaperoning him. 

Seichirō was seven when the Konoha province was annexed within the borders of The Hamajo Confederation. Even then, he had an inner gut feeling that something bad had happened, but he couldn't just quite place it. He noticed his father was acting shifty and, in an uncharacteristic act of rebellion, used his smoke ability to sneak on his parent's bedroom closet. There, he would listen on as Ryosuke would reveal he had lost his job because of the change in power. The Hamajo Confederation saw the Roga as useless and stripped them off from that little influence they had on the village. The child Roga couldn't associate the news with anything bad, as life on the village continued without much interruption. Sure, there were different politicians spewing their crap on TV, but he was seven at the time - he couldn't care less about which miserable pencil neck lost their job. He only realized what his father's backroom conversation meant when he reached genin-level. He even swears he heard a penny drop in the middle of his classroom when that suddenly dawned on him.

Ryosuke's demotion meant he could spend more time with his son. He was still a high ranking member of the Roga Clan, but they had run out of business. The thing with Ryosuke was; he wasn't the most talkative. His quality father-son time practically equaled to him reading a newspaper while Seichirō went on about his business. As such, Seichirō grew up to be socially awkward and didn't quite have a firm grasp of human decency and basic ethics. He had to learn most of those himself. A notable moment was his last fight during the Chūnin Exams. He had his opponent on a choke hold and, in a a move that shocked the entire audience, he brutally dislocated the guy's jaw, believing that's what must be done. The unison cheers coming to a sudden halt, the looks of horror he got from the crowds and the proctor; it made him realize that he was making a mistake. Thankfully, his adversary had actually used a substitution jutsu. His reckless move also won him the fight, intimidating his cowardly opponent.  Seichirō won by forfeit.

He played the part of shinobi on and off over the years. Most of the missions he has completed up until this point are C-rank, with the exception of a few B-ranks here and there. 

❖  Familial ties--
Seichirō's family is dysfunctional by outside world standards, but perfectly functional within the behavior range of the Roga. His father's passive and makes every word count. His mother's the opposite. Regardless, Seichirō loves both of them, and he is certain that they feel the same. Any parental neglect in the past was mainly due to their inexperience in raising a child and their obligations with other duties.

Seichirō dreams and fears are both related to the bonds he's made over the years. His fears are categorized in three layers and are closely tied to the flawed relationships he's constructed with others - fear about his village; history has proven Konoha was the most targeted village out of the bunch. Fear about his clan - he believes that his effort to restore his clan will go in vain or even worse, backfire. The Roga Clan is considered to be half past dead either way. It would take one push for it to disappear in obscurity. 

The final fear, the third layer, is the fear for his family. As dysfunctional as his little family may seem, he does love and value them even though he would never admit to that in public.

But, as a wise man said ~ one step at a time. Seichirō's primary goal for now is to reach jōnin and make his father proud.

Seichirō's modus operandi is kenjutsu, but he's no slouch at hand to hand combat either. Since his kekkei genkai brings forth a plethora of health hazards, he refuses to use it unless necessary. He's very analytical and never attacks first. He believes that whoever attacks first is bound to reveal a susceptible spot much quicker than one who waits. If he does find that weakness, in whatever shape it may be (a blind spot, a recharge period), he will put pressure in it until his strategy begins working. He also has a counter-tactic to his own strategy, being able to switch his style with the flick of a finger.

The young Roga's only defense, however, is his own agility. He lacks the physical power or the array of weapons to defend against attacks and mostly opts to dodge them rather than take them head on.

When in smoke form, the user is basically impervious to physical attacks, illusions or concentrated short and long range jutsu. He can enter an area that's out of his reach by slipping through the cracks, making it invaluable for infiltration and espionage.

❖ Weaknesses
Aside from the KG being reliant on chakra, it can also be very harmful to the user. If the user's hit by a powerful long range jutsu [like Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet], or especially a wind release attack that spreads out on a wide radius, the resulting damage could be the cause of limb loss and/or certain death. Long story short, any strong attack that can disperse smoke is fatal.

In order for the user to grab on an unsuspecting enemy, they must first release themselves from the wall while in smoke form and then turn into their organic form, as they are unable to use physical attacks that way. For the technique to work, the user must turn into smoke completely and not simply manipulate certain parts of their body.

He also has a scar that intercepts the bridge of his nose and touches upon his cheeks, a reminder of his childhood shenanigans. So far, the young Roga has experimented with two different hairstyles - the overgrown, messy one that's depicted in the picture, and one similar to that but with the sides clean shaven. an undercut ye

Seichirō's body is lean with a slight muscle definition, as expected from a chūnin-level shinobi. He has tattoos similar to one another in his biceps - they depict daggers, or at least that's what he was led to believe. He doesn't always cover his arms with bandages, only when there is a risk that he could be identified. He favors casual clothing when he's not in a mission, ranging from jeans to sweatpants to loose-fitting shirts. When on duty, he utilizes that same red combat suit that's shown above, maybe with minor changes [sometimes his headband is on his head, sometimes on his waist - what can I say, he's a nuanced fella also really gay cause he cares too much about his appearance cough]. He sports a pair of black boots, designed to be light in weight so as to make traversing through different areas a chore. Aside from that, you can't tell the difference without a Byakugan or a specialized Sharingan i'd say it's fair to remove the sharingan from the list. the deal with Sharingan is that they can see chakra but their perception is so shit that they can't tell one from the other, so since you're covering a chakra-loaded wall with more chakra, it wouldn't seem any different from a normal wall to them. byakugan can oversee this, so they should remain, as should any other highly focused sensory.. In order for the user to grab on an unsuspecting enemy, they must first release themselves from the wall while in smoke form and then turn into their organic form, as they are unable to use physical attacks that way. For the technique to work, the user must turn into smoke completely and not simply manipulate certain parts of their body.

i think i get it. instead of using the wall for cover, you lure them in -> turn organic -> grab? okay, that's fine
