The purpose of me going invisible is largely because:

1. I don't like people questioning my online status, at how I seem to be here almost 24/7. I usually just leave my tabs open, that is why. I got chased for posts by someone in the past because of my online status.

2. I do lurk around and read RPs I'm not participating in - some of them were good reads, even if I'm not a player (and I don't plan to join). I won't like the GM and the players judging me for dropping by even though I'm not in their game.

When someone is looking at an RP I'm in but doesn't post anything, I feel a bit exposed, naked even. There's momentary embarrassment followed by a mild anxiety as I wonder what the reader is going to do next. Will they join? Will they comment? But they do neither and just leave. Then like anyone who's just been caught naked, I'm left to wonder if they enjoyed the show or not.

I've never judged them, just worried about their judgement.

I'm the same as you in terms of having a tab up for this site in the background while I work on my project all day/night/whatever.

Frankly, I don't care how people react if I go in and read their role-play -- if we weren't meant to read them, they'd all be private.

@tsukune@Shoryu Magami I have like three tabs for this site open (at least) whenever my compy is on...which is most of the day. ^.^;;

Also I agree, if you want it private don't post it publicly. And remember that the internet isn't really private -- and anything posted never /really/ goes away. <3 Someone just pulled up old logs from an rp I was in years ago that I posted to a part of a private site that couldn't even be reached without the url. So yeaaah. ^.^; Nothing bad, but still surprising.

Lol, I've certainly got some things I'd like to keep private (no, I'm not a terrorist -- I just like my privacy in certain aspects and I don't like people browsing through my unsorted notes), but yeah... the internet is a pain in the ass.
