It's probably a really bad idea, but! I've been toying with the idea of potentially getting the okay to post random, almost completely unrelated to the story misadventures of Stalkers, bandits, military, ect. Just to give people something to read when I'm bored.

Thoughts?

Random NPC generator and Alife simulator Rain will make world feel like many things are of the happening!

@Rain If you're willing to run them by me before you post them, just so I can police the tone of the pieces (you know, making sure there are no comedic/parody pieces being submitted when there's supposed to be dramatic tension in the main story, that sort of thing), then it's an interesting idea! If I really like one then I'll ask your permission to hold off on posting it so I can use it as a side-plot.

Hell yeah. I've played enough S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in my time to be able to effectively blend the unique sense of humor it has with the generally miserable existance that is the zone. You can't in good conscious deny me the right to have a group of bandits jamming out to Bandit Radio while shaking people down at a checkpoint.

@Rain By no means do I expect to turn down very many ideas, if any at all! I'm just once-bitten-twice-shy when it comes to giving players totally free reins, and turning a blind eye to their efforts. Tone, atmosphere, and coherence of story are fickle and fragile creatures, after all.

P.S. I forgot to mention this in the above post but if I do end up using one of your side-plots, due credit will be given. No plagiarism occurs here. (We "take inspiration" instead. ;))

@Rain The only big thing leaping out at me is that we don't have any artifacts or anomalies here, just in case you didn't catch that tidbit from the OP. Mutants are fair game though.

If you're interested in other subgenres of Science Fiction than Post-apocalyptic fiction, then there's something else which we ought to discuss, too. Send a PM CCed to @Fyre Unholy, @Mercenary5, and myself, if that is the case. Your proposal follows basically the same format (side-stories used to take a break from a main, overarching narrative) as that which we're using for another project in the works. Let us know.

Guess I don't need to wait for Fyre and Templar now. When I've gotten some things done both with coursework and with a 1x1 partner who I've left hanging for over a week now, a GM post will be composed.

I promise I'll have something soon, definitely within the next two days. I just finished moving and to add to my dilemma, I've been terribly sick for exactly a week now, with no sign of stopping. Oh, and I also lost my prescription meds during the move.
