@BurningDaisies Still not sure yet, I usually decide on the spot when making a CS.

I think my Nohr Twin would be a butler. My Hoshido Twin (Mechanist or Onmyoji) would probably be a retainer to my Hoshido Sibling. My Hoshido sibling would be Falcon Knight. My other retainer for her (aside from my Hoshido Twin) will probably be Swordmaster. I'm also thinking about making a Nohrian Dark Knight or Adventurer as a side role. It's hard to say though.

So we have a lot of mobility options at the moment.
Out of the classes mentioned so far, we're lacking in high defense units, lance users, and bow users.
A songstress would be fairly useful, if a bit squishie. =P

It's coming along, a bit more slowly due to a finger injury sustained during grilling this evening. :/

Did you happen to have a blanket template for your CS? I'll probably adjust some of the sections but I like the overall pretty skeleton and would love us to use it.

@Grey Probably defenses.
Honestly, I'd suggest another wyvern rider or maybe a cavalier, which would pair well with the existing mobility and by default has decent defense.

Come to think of it, a Kinshi Knight would be pretty useful: lances, bows and mobility.

@BurningDaisies Awesome thanks.

And I may hold off on my CS until I see what we need. At the same time, we don't need a perfectly well rounded crew of fighters, in fact if there was some glaring weakness, I think that might be a bit more likely to happen when gathering allies. I do intend to make a few non-retainer allies to pick up along the way so I encourage you guys to do the same if you think you can. Not all our roles will be simultaneously used heavily.

@BurningDaisies @Dynamo Frokane @Grey As I flesh out the OOC, I'm leaning toward us keeping track of money but also a very slim inventory of items. Interested or nah? Mostly because money and supplies will be fairly scarce and I'd like it to not be forgotten as we move along. Like some nights dinner may not be an option, for example.

I like the resource management aspect, but its definitely more work for you, since you have to set the price for every purchase. =P
Speaking from experience though, we should probably have a google doc (or something equivalent) we can all edit for updating group inventory.

But this works out perfectly, since I was wanting to bring in a Merchant-class character! xD

Edit; If you wanted to, you could use the goods and services tables from D&D/Pathfinder as a reference for figuring out how to set prices.

I did the rough inventory for another RP of mine and it was pretty time consuming but it's something I'd love to try to implement and have matter, but not in a nitpicky sort of way you know? If that makes sense. I'd like the impact of items and weapons (plus the upgrade and upkeep) to be present but it's nothing I would strictly police either.

I'll probably dig into it tomorrow night in terms of pricing but I'll take a look where you pointed me towards, it's probably a last minute add to the CS (ie: It can wait if a CS is otherwise finished) and something I'd only need main roles to probably bare in mind.

Anyway, that would mean the elder Nohrian royal-retainer trio is Strategist + Wyvern Lord/Malig Knight + Great Knight? So that's promotes, mounts, and a magic-hybrid-physical or magic-physical-physical group.

So if I wanna parallel that for sum-o-dat sweet, sweet ~THEMATIC RESONANCE~, I'd generate unpromoted, unmounted classes that create a similar make up.

I can work with this!

@Grey I wasn't sure. I have been going back and forth with that but I'd like us not to...I think. I think it gives us a tougher struggle but I'd also love to see the gang FIND a means to an end as opposed to the solution kinda being under their noses the entire time. Plus it would be awkward if the wrong sibling tagged along who didn't have the special weapon needed. XD I do have a few ideas though, so I'd say no special weapons. Of course royals can name their weapons and they can be a bit rare or crafted personally for them but they wouldn't hold to same Seal of Flames/Fire Emblem thing. I'm bringing the Fire Emblem another way though, a bit more like Awakening did, sorta.

Sorscha can really be whatever we need. I was actually thinking Paladin, but Great Knight could work too.

Even counting her, we're still low on high defense units across all classes mentioned so far.
Bows are less important because we have so many mages.

While trying to simulate actual financial hardship seems cool and immersive, I wouldn't want anyone to feel like its too much of a chore to deal with. And if only one person (probably GM) is responsible for handling it, the management aspect of it gets really tedious.

As you kinda hinted at, it may be better to handle these kinds of expenses as narratively as possible with a rules-light approach. And everyone can update their inventories on an honor system according to their IC interactions with NPC's like tavern owners and merchants.
