After some discussion with @CaptainBritton, I'm thinking of a slightly more technologically advanced and more fuedal version of the aftermath of Alexander's conquest, something like 300 BCE but as I said with more medieval advancements. If anybody has anything to add in, feel free to reply/go to the chat.

Sword & Sandals? Heck yea, I like it. Are we looking at a sort of conquered/absorbed empire with competing successors situation or just the general cultural mash up of western/eastern influences?

Hopefully, both. We'll have an Alexander figure likely that some people think is a demigod, and a ton of Hellenic vs. Persian/Indian sorts of things, as well as an aspiring nation to the East and a massive trade empire, not to mention the broken kingdoms smack dab in the center of the map.

Update: We have a map, and I'm currently working on the simulation.

The map is, of course, secret, and will only be revealed by loose sketch, but nevertheless a map exists.

I may not be able to contribute for another month or so, but this sounds interesting. (I'd like to teach the writers of my AP Global textbook a lesson. ;D).

Edit: Will we be able to write as multiple authors? Say I want to write for a scholar who has a strong political bias for one post, but I want to try writing an epic poem in the another post?

Heh, no worries there. It'd be great if you could at least try to be in the OOC when you can, but no pressure. Also, jokes aside, one the main reasons I launched this is to make a point about historiography. Hopefully at least five people will learn a thing or two.

The live chat is at tlk.io/chronicles, BTW. We're fairly active, and it helps get people integrated if you show up.

EDIT TO RESPOND TO EDIT: Absolutely! There's no restrictions on who you can write as and I'd encourage taking on multiple accounts.

Sweet! I'll try to stay as active as I can for the coming weeks. I'll probably be one the people adding to the 'diversity of writing talent', but I'll do my best to write something enjoyable and thought provoking.

I've officially begun work on the OOC, it should *fingers crossed* be out tomorrow. I have some things going on in the morning, but you should expect a link likely tomorrow afternoon/evening (GMT-6), ish. Worst case scenario it will be up on Tuesday. Hopefully one more player/GM comes in before then, but we have enough that I feel comfortable starting.

Late Night Update: I'm chugging along on the OOC, but the actual first simulation will almost certainly be Tuesday unless a Co-GM volunteers and fixes everything.

Hey guys, I know I said the OOC would be up yesterday and then kinda flip-flopped to today, but some unforeseen events took place and I became strapped for time. I'm going as fast as I can, but in the interest of not pushing out something that isn't the quality it should be, I've elected to continue work on the post for a bit. At absolute latest it will come out Thursday, but I'm trying to make it sooner. If the stars align I may be able to get it out tonight.
