It was not unusual for Sullivan to be up at midnight. Usually, it had been because he was working late, but for today that was not the case. Instead he found himself in a party thrown in his honour. He found parties a form of inhuman torture, especially parties that lasted until the early morning. Sure, his friends were happy that he had finally quit his dead-end job, but that was no reason for them to drag him to a nightclub and have a huge celebration.

Currently, one of his drunken companions was trying to request a song and the others were trying to dissuade him. Mainly because it would have been the tenth time that night that they had heard Despacito. Sullivan was, instead, leaning against the bar, waiting for this whole charade to end. Sipping his bourbon, he became very uncomfortable as a woman started to eye him from across the room. Every time he looked at her, she was staring at him. After conferring with her friends, she walked over to him, the sound of giggling filling the air. Instead of formally introducing herself, she started with a peculiar conversation opener: "Nice shirt."

"Oh, uh, thanks." He stuttered, unsure of how to continue. Should he introduce himself? Did she want to talk to him, or did she just like the shirt? "I got it at Abercrombie and Fitch, 20% off."

"I'd like it 100% off." She said, sounding rather coy. Sullivan furrowed his brow, really confused now. Was she that idiotic? Little did he know she was trying to flirt.

"That's ridiculous! They can't just give away free shirts, you know!" He exclaimed. "Gee, I take it you don't work in retail. It's just common sense, something you clearly lack." She looked quite offended by his comment and marched off. He frowned, he had officially had enough of this outing. Before his friends could stop him, he walked outside. It had stopped raining though.

Deciding he didn't want to go home yet, but needed alone time, he found himself alone, in the park, staring up at the sky, peppered with stars. He wondered what was up there, if there was a god. Little did he know he was about to find the answers to his questions.

The throne room of the king of the heavens held a mix of emotions. Shouting and arguing, sadness and stillness and a redheaded woman seeming to have mixed emotions about the situation at hand, “And until you find the end to your marks you will not return to the heavens. The answers you seek lie in the eyes of the god.” A noble man raised his hand into the air, the room filled with a great light and the seven individuals in front of him vanished. The King slowly placed himself back onto his gallant throne, propped up his elbow and rested his chin in his hand. “Oh you little vixen you, will you learn your lesson?”

As the Gods fell from the sky the conversation began. “The answers you seek lie in the eyes of a god?” The youngest god repeated his voice solemn and depressed.

“Yes Axel, that is what he said; judging by the King’s demeanor, he must know much more than he’s telling us.” The elder of the gods said as he crossed his arms during their fall.

“That trickster of a King knows exactly what he’s doing. I’ll be back in the heavens in no time.” The smirking brunette said laying back as the people fell from the key.

The goddess with the dark violet hair who was falling among the gods clicked her tongue in rage towards the smirking man. “Shut your mouth you worthless lion. You know nothing of the King’s plans.”

“Scorpio be still.” The black haired man with a professional presence said in an authority tone. “Leon knows as much as the rest of us. He is just making a guess.”

“Director Stick in the Mud knows nothing; I at least know where I stand.” Leon said in a casual tone giving a shrug.

“I think we should split up.” The more mature looking one spoke up once again, “Finding the god that the king mentioned should be our number one priority.”

“I agree with Hue.” The silent one finally spoke up. “We’ll meet at the mansion and report anything that we have found. Despite the king’s rough treatment of us, he would never set us up to fail. The god we’re looking for must be in the city.”

“Curt is right.” Axel said speaking up, sounding much full of more hope than he had been when they first were summoned to the palace.

“I don’t know why you are all stressed?” The redhead Calamity said excitedly as they fell towards the ground. “This is like a vacation! We can’t use our magic, therefor we cannot work.”

“We can use minimal magic and you will be up your neck in paper work if you keep with the comments.” Hue warned the happy redhead who huffed in response.

“We break apart, find the former god and bring him back to the mansion, meet back at midnight whether you find him or not. Simple as that.” Leon barked before taking off in another direction.

Everyone seemed to agree to this and parted ways except for the grumpy redhead who continued to pout as everyone is gone. Cal let out a grumpy sigh as she plumted towards the ground, that was until something hit her, in fact something hit her hard. “OOF!” A giant flying bird side swiped her following body from the rainclouds and Cal began to spin. Before she could react to anything, she lost control of her own flight pattern and fell into an empty park… well nearly empty.

Upon her impact, the redhead in the black pants and the golden top landed on her back in a patch of soggy grass only to watch her vision fade in and out. A figure stood over her and before she could do anything, she was out.

Sullivan had so many fond memories of this park. So many dates his friends had step him up on that he had ruined. Mainly by being incredibly blunt with them, or by being as boring as he could be. It was times like these when he could stand alone, all by himself, soaking in the peace and quiet-

Screw that. Sullivan nearly jumped a foot in the air as he suddenly heard a loud banging noise behind him. Every time he felt like he'd reached nirvana, someone or something had to come and interrupt him. He turned around, expecting to see someone trying to start a conversation, or some obnoxious teenage couple making out on a bench. Instead, he couldn't see anyone. He narrowed his eyes, confused, looking around for the source of the sound. He eventually found some woman lying on the ground, unconious. Either that or she slept in some odd places.

He knelt down next to her. Yep, definitely unconscious. Must have taken a blow to the head. "Wait. How did she?" He muttered to himself, realising that there was no logical way for her to appear. People don't fall fron the sky, and he didn't hear her approach him. There were no planes flying over, so she couldn't have jumped out of one, and there were no nearby trees. He decided to shake his thoughts as he carried her over to a bench, laying her down pushing the hair out her face. "Hello? Can you hear me?" He said, leaning close to her to check if she was breathing.

Ugh… that hurt… Cal’s mind was hazy as she laid in the soft wet grass. What was that thing?! Was that the ‘airplane’ thing that the humans worked so hard on? Boy it was sturdy and could take an impact. Then there was her and her exhausted body. Boy getting hit hard hurt, uuuggghhh…

It wasn’t long before she came too, a little; she felt a presence over her and attempted to open her eyes. However her eyes would not obey. The figure got closer and she stiffened slightly, she had never met a human before and wasn’t sure just how out of place someone would feel being surrounded by the overwhelming presence of a heavenly aura. It wasn’t she was picked up that she finally relaxed a little. A soft scent filled her nose as she floated in the arms of someone. This was nice; she hadn’t been picked up in a long time, especially in a sense of a hold like this.

It wasn’t long before her body was delicately laid down on something firm. Something came into her hearing, a voice, a male’s voice asking if she could hear him. Ugh being groggy wasn’t exactly helpful at this moment and she struggled to respond to him through her state of current being. Her mouth opened, but no words came out which was disappointing. A small breathe of air left her before her tiny hand moved, it fell off of her body and brushed against his shirt. In order to make some slight contact she curled her fingers under the bottom of his shirt and gripped it slightly before she again, lost consciousness and her hand fell limp.

Damn this was going to be a long night.

Sullivan's face contorted into a frown when the woman opened her mouth, but couldn't seem to speak. Yeah, she must have been hit hard for her to be that weak. He was about to stand up and look for the source of her injury, when he felt two small hands curling around the bottom of his shirt. He quietly gasped, and froze for a moment, uncomfortable with the contact. He breathed a sigh of relief as she let go, feeling his muscles relax. He'd never been comfortable with unsolicited contact, especially from a total stranger.

He picked up her hands, briefly holding them aimlessly. They looked tiny in comparison to his oversized paws. He quickly pressed on her wrist, checking her pulse. It was comfortably steady, but that didn't stop him from checking her pulse every five seconds. It occurred to him that it sort of made him look like a random pervert who knocked a girl out, and proceeded to hold her hand. He laid them back in her lap, looking around to see if anyone else was there. The park was still empty. Damn.

He stood up, pacing backed and forth briefly. How did she end it here? People don't fall from the sky, but that seemed like the only explanation. No, that was too weird. Everything should be based on logic and fact, not superstition. His legs were getting tired. He sighed, becoming rather irritated. She took up the entire bench. He lifted up he head and sat down, before placing her head on his lap, tilting it back slowly so she didn't swallow her own tounge or something weird, but plausible. If this persisted, he would phone an ambulance. But still, having the woman lie on his lap was sort of nice. Relaxing almost, even if the situation was absurd. He found himself pulled away from his reflection to find that he hand started to mindlessly stroke her hair. He turned red, quickly removing his hands, suddenly feeling more awkward than before.

Her head moved slightly and it juggled her mind awake again, this time she was elevated to some degree and something soft supported her red head. Was this… a lap? And was something… no, someone, stroking her head. A small moans left her full lips when the stroking stopped. That felt nice. It wasn’t long before Cal drifted off again, this time to sleep. Her body shifted on the bench, rolling to face towards his stomach. Her arms slid up between her and the back of the bench gripping onto his shirt as if it was something important to her.

For a brief moment, everything as right in her world and her whole body relaxed. However, that didn’t last long before her thoughts came back into her mind and her eyes sprung open. “Oh!” She exclaimed before bolting upwards. However with Calamity’s lack of understanding of personal space, she did not move away from him. In fact she kept eye contact the entire time as she bolted upwards. Through her red waves she made out a face, a face that looked rather surprised.

“Hi.” Her full lips spread into a bright white smile as she gazed at the young man. “How are y—“ Her words were cut off and her body fell forward, her forehead landing on his shoulder. “Ugh… my head hurts…” She said softly into the cloth on his shoulder as a heavy breathe left her. “Boy that hurt… I don’t remember the last time I’ve felt so light-headed and my back hurt this bad…” Her breathing was shaky as she pulled herself from his shoulder and gazed at him.

“For a second I was seeing stars.” She said with a laugh, a laugh meant mainly for herself. Boy she was funny! That was until she focused her eye contact back on him and she let out a gasp. “WOW!” She claimed excitedly. “Look at you! This is my lucky night!” Placing her hands on each side of his face she leaned closer, staring straight at him with her sparkling crystal blue eyes. “I was seeing the stars… stars… in your e…” Again her words were cut off before her hands dropped from his face and her head fell on his shoulder again. “Oh my brain is fuzzy… I feel like someone’s in my head with a jackhammer just going to town…” Her face crunched together in pain; between her head and her back, she was hurting and she could tell… without fail, that flying would not be an option.
