I should probably ask about our briefing actually. That might effect my choice between a heavy stunner or missile launcher depending on what it is we are expected to do after planet call.

That is a good question. I assumed the DM would probably play as the sergeant. That being said it is a playable class for a reason.

If you don't pick the sergeant, there will be a NPC one at least in the beginning.

Your overall objective is to retake Hive Primus from the rebels with an initial combat drop to secure a beachhead for the rest of the regiment and any other Imperial forces that may be joining the battle. From then on it'll likely be a nice urban combat slog, of course, you can always requisition new gear as situations and mission change.

@AdvancedJ3lly We could always have the Sergeant get killed off at the start of the battle/ASAP, this way we're given more freedom instead of being ordered around

@Skwint There is a class that is called sergeant, yes. It's a fellowship-based class, issuing orders and commands instead of focusing more on dishing damage out like the weapon specialist or the heavy gunner.

Basically, there must be a sergeant assigned to the squad to lead said squad. You could be the sergeant, in which case you'd have the RP responsibility of leading it and using some semblance of tactics. If you don't want that responsibility, I will fill in with a NPC at least until it is no longer needed to progress the story.

It's getting there. Its mostly just figuring out how this spending experience and affinities and stuff works by this point.
