Uhh, let's see if I remember. My first playthrough, I met Havel. D: D: That was a source of entertainment for everyone. Beat Capra. And I think I'm working on the dragon. I'm at the bridge he is guarding. I absolutely know nothing about the game. I don't know what goes where and who is where. I barely know the buttons. I'm a completely video game n00b. Jeremiah speedruns it, and I'm like "Hurrrdruuurrr"

I'd advise running past havel and backstabbing, cause he is so slow... you should do that whenever possible, cause the overkill can get you extra souls, and, backstabs do amazing amounts of damage... I used the +5 great scythe, and killed him in 4 backstabs and one slash. Was capra hard?
Ah, don't worry, I don't even know how to kick, and half the time, I'm one handing/two handing when I wanna do the opposite... sometimes I panic, and roll off cliffs by accident, or, drink an estus flask when not injured. I can't parry at all, and, most enemies kill me pretty easy. I think it's cause my defense and vitality is so shitty.

Is it bad that I never tackled the dragon, and I'm going to the depths soon? He is still on that bridge, just perching there...

Sometimes you never beat the dragon. If you do beat the dragon, you're usually either (a) cheesing it from under the bridge like a troll, or (b) SL 60 or higher (or much higher). Soooooooooo don't feel bad.

ahh, thanks. I thought the dragon was something everyone went for. I'm actually only level 31, and every time I get close (past the stairs to the underside of the bridge) It burns me to a frigging crisp. I actually used that to my advantage early on, by soul grinding for 300 souls each visit (By letting the dragon kill the undead soldiers) And trekking back to the bonfire, then going back up. I do that with the hydra in darkroot basin now.

By the way, how do you summon ally npcs when offline? Cause, I've been tackling all these bosses with no help other than advice and error. I'd like someone who can get wrecked in my place, while I'm doing the real wrecking.

Occasionally you'll be able to summon help from NPCs, in certain locations and when certain conditions are met, but they're not everywhere. Usually it's Solaire, but there are others. NPC summons are usually somewhere near the fog gate, behind a pillar or up some stairs or something like that.

I see. Do they only follow you into the boss? How do they work?

NPC Summons function like any other summon. They'll help you fight against any and all enemies including invaders. Watching an NPC summon and an NPC invader duke it out is quite a spectacle. Oh, and most likely because NPC summon/invader AI is laughable at best, most are tanky as fuck. NPC invaders less so, however. Perfect example of a tanky NPC summon: Iron Tarkus. You will learn to love him soon.

Keep in mind that for NPC summons you have to reverse your hollowing and be in human form to even see their summon signs. They'll be very obvious gold and black marks on the floor somewhere in the nearby vicinity of the boss's fog gate, but as others said not every boss has an NPC buddy you can summon and some of the summoned people have specific conditions that have to be met for them to be available. They'll follow you wherever and help you fight things, but if you're having enough trouble with a place that you need help from an NPC then you should either probably not be there at your soul/gear/skill level.

Also, for when the time comes, I suggest nobody bother with NG+ if they can't handle painful grinding. This shit is brutal, well over 30 attempts on the boss before I finally got through Anor Londo in NG+.

I see. Heh, I've always been hollow with almost no humanity, so I never even saw them! I actually usually beat a boss in a few tries, and it usually ends up that not having help is just fine. That's not to say help isn't appreciated.

Whoa... and to think it's only on NG+1

Oh yeah? Well I did it with my dick twisted in a knot, my screen brightness near 0, all while receiving unpleasant anal sex and only using the notched whip.
