Anywhere is fine, just try and get started near some of the other players or at least have your character headed in that kind of direction. Here's a little summary @PrinceAlexus did a couple days ago just to give you a brief overview of where everyone is right now. There's been a few posts since this so just read a few of the recent IC and figure out what works best for you.

Xia and Olin left off together.
Victoria and Milo have managed to end up on a Swarma date randomly.
Ren and Joseph plus a new character are at the coffee shop. (this is a morning scene FYI)
Marilania and Joel are a chatting n playing mind games at airport.
Possww left for outer city and a new chapter is being worked on in there story.
Max is also at the outer cargo airport.

No need to be utterly lost. ust intro and start interacting with charecters, you can let thr more complex stuff slot into place later.

Not everything slots together overnight.

It's not a matter of me not liking the genre or anything.

It's a matter of feeling outclassed by all these huge character sheets and all these massive posts

I do have a question though . . .

I see that gender balance is a huge thing, and I'm assuming that's for pairing reasons? Is having a lesbian character frowned upon?

Min post is 1-2 paragraph, you do not have to do mega posts. Nice detailed posts are nice but if you struggle, you can do smaller 1-3 paragraph posts, and a shorter CS.

Same with CS. Just do what you can :)

That is a good question! But no, we already have gay characters so feel free to go lesbian - is my guess @PrinceAlexus would say

Ummm.. We seem to have a active poster male bias ish right now.
It's generally so we do have pairing options if people wanted too. Plus balenced meant they could go both ways and it work out.

Lesbian not frowned upon. Gay, lesbian is fine.
I do think we could get away with it.
