We all know the story of "A New Hope", but what if Leia had completed her mission?
Vader doesn't catch up with her until after she's talked to Obi-wan, and they have returned to her ship. Luke never lost his Aunt and Uncle, or met the droids. Han and Chewie were never hired to smuggle people to Alderaan, and Tarkin hasn't yet decided to blow it up, as he has no prisoner he wishes to psychologically torture.

I'd start the RP as the Tantive IV comes out of hyperspace above Tattooine. You can play as OCs or established characters, though from this point forward established characters may change.

Also, Obi-wan is an NPC, though Leia is available.

@Shadow DaedalusI actually kind of prefer EU/Legends stuff, even though their are some weird stories.

The Solo Twins are way cooler than Ben/Rey.

I was thinking of doing a free-lance salvager under contract with the rebellion, so I wanted to use some Old Republic Tech like Fury-Class Interceptors and such.

Will be keeping an eye one this. Also have a few questions to ask:

1. Since Obi-Wan is on Tatooine to protect Luke why does he decide to leave him there?
2. Does Leia get get the Lightsaber that Obi-Wan gave to Luke in the original or we just going to see what happens?
3. Does Leia get told about her real parents from Obi-Wan?

1) mostly so that he can train Leia. He plans to come back, but helping the Rebellion and training someone to help the against Darth Vader is more important.
2) I was planning on him giving her the same "Anakin Skywalker was you real father" speech and give her the light saber.

Edit: That said, if someone wants to play as Luke, I could have him say that he wanted to pick up "a new recruit" first and come to the farm to recruit you.

Honestly, if you do the Luke side of things, maybe have him leave the planet with Biggs, who was planning to ally with the Rebels. Thus giving him the chance to be involved with events in a different way. Never rising to become a Jedi, but instead following a different path.

Heck, you can even bring in Ferus Olin, who was Anakin/Vaders old school buddy and worked for the Empire at one point while trying to be a double agent. (Eventually Ferus dies fighting Vader between episode 4 and 5.)

Yep. It'd give Luke somebody to work off, and would get him into some of the big action scenes he wouldn't be in otherwise.

Here's an idea for the plot:
Leia goes to recruit Obi-wan, who insists on giving her a lesson. Vader's ship arrives and Leia tells them to leave without them. They find the Rebel pilot @Shadow Daedalus who's taking recruits from the nearby worlds to Yavin IV and fly with them. They then take a ship to Alderaan. (Alternatively, if someone wants to play as Han or Chewie, they can hire a pilot to go strait to Alderaan) When they come out near Alderaan, they find the Death Star, with Alderaan intact. They are caught, and with the planet as hostage they have to call for the Rebel fleet or take it out from the inside.
