Adykon looked at Yssil, an approving look on his face.

"Good, very good. Now, take a few minutes to catch your breath, please. When you are ready, take one of those wooden practice swords and we can spar over there." He pointed to a little area near the weapon rack which he had set up.

"And Yssil? If I may say so, that was some pretty intense focus you had there. That's important for a mage. At least that's what Aerta tells me. I could see it in your eyes. Keep it up."

"I see. Smith, this sounds like it could be pretty useful. I mean, this isn't something you asked for, but it doesn't sound like it will hurt you or hold you back in any way. Might as well make the best of it, y'know?" Kara thought about it. If her skin tone had suddenly changed along with her organs, she wouldn't take it well. Still, she knew that getting Smith more upset about this development was not going to help anyone, so she kept as positive an outlook on the matter as she possibly could.

Grand Prince Ternoc quickly briefed Rebat on the situation, and made arrangements to reunite him with his army.

"Hope you're happy. I've had to draft and sign a dozen decrees just to make this irregularity all good and legal. Still, you have command of your army, under your own command. Now go, be reunited with your soldiers. Your army and that of my general will march together, under their own commands. Take care to coordinate your maneuvers, and work as a team."

Kali knelt down next to Ardasa, briefly touching her head to the floor in front of the image of Arda. "The experiences we describe which await us in the afterlife are just metaphors. They can be understood in any number of ways. Truly, there are as many different experiences as there are afterlives. Our religion applies to the gods we worship, or at least acknowledge: Arda, Hetuis, and so on. Phrases like 'dancing with the gods' are similar to what the dracons believe, and they have thousands of gods. Others say that they will run with their gods, or swim with them, or fly with them."

She paused for a moment to say a silent prayer, her eyes closed in concentration. "As it is, the gods help those who help themselves, and right now, we need to get this city up and running. Our lord Rughoi is pretty much the head of that, but you are his neck. Krakas won't be able to keep him under her influence for much longer. He's getting too old for his mother to get him to do things. That will fall to you, my friend."

Smith said nothing for the time being, Sitting down in the exact same chair that his mother had sat on before. His hand gently touching a lone blue flower with bright yellow circle inside of it making it look quite beautiful, "It the internal transformation is not painful, Although you may feel sore for a day or so" Balru said softly rubbing the back of his neck.

Smith was touching the petal of the flower which rose and grew it's roots into the ground.

"If you need to me help with the soreness, I'd be happy to give you a rubdown or something" Kara explained, taking a moment to scratch an itch on her right arm. "Well, there's no point in putting it off any longer, my love. Let's go find your mother. No matter what happens, you know you have my support."

"We don't need her" Responded Smith who was gently touching another strange looking flower, "I think it would be best to listen to Miss Kara, Your mother will be able to help you with your training as a fey" Balru said walking and standing beside Kara. "I said i don't need her help, nor yours...it's her fault..for making me like this" Smith said softly glaring at Balru.

"Smith... my love, this is just part of your biology. Whatever it was, it couldn't be helped. She didn't cast a spell on you or make something happen to change you. It just- just happened. Getting angry with her won't change you back. And if I may say it, the only way to make anything good come of this is to talk to her. I don't think anyone else can really help you through it." Kara took his hand, once again giving it a little squeeze. "Now please. Let's go see her."

Smith was looking away form Kara and to the strange flower form before, "Speaking to her will not help either....she will abandons me like she did last time" He said softly quickly moving his hand away form Kara. "Smith..i know how you are feeling but your mother loves you greatly and see does not want to lose you again, So please if not for her then speak to your mother for your lover" Balru said placing a pale hand on Kara's shoulder.

"Yes. Do it for me, Smith. I'll be sure to repay the favor. Just ask me for something later, if it helps. Whatever you want." Kara gave him a little hug. This clearly wasn't easy for Smith, but she knew that it had to be done. Furthermore, she was curious as to what kind of favor he might ask of her.

"Okay..i guess but i will only do it..for you" Smith said looking up at Kara, "I will need your help...standing up" He said softly looking up at his companion. Balru was the first to move to Smith's side helping the young man up onto his feet, "Please don't strain yourself, I do not want you to hurt yourself" The older fey said softly.

Kara helped Smith as well. "Careful. One step at a time. Balru, please lead the way to Leonore."

Balru lead Smith and Kara towards where Leonore was, She was in a room with a locked door which Balru knocked on softly with his knuckle. "My apologies my queen but your son and his lover are here to speak to you" He said when a soft sounding voice spoke. "Valvar jaur Oniru Drek'ton nearna Sker qyegu'ku Roeu tu", "She says you two may come in but i cannot come it is a private matter for family and not for a lonely servant like myself" Balru said bowing to the two.

The door open and Smith was leaning on Kara for support as Balru left.

Kara quietly waved to Balru, then turned her attention on helping Smith into the room. "Careful, love. Your muscles don't seem to be up to much walking yet. You still need a little while to let the transformation finish." They slowly made it to Leonore. Kara pulled a seat over for Smith, and she took a seat in another one not too far away.

"What did you need to speak to me about?" Leonore spoke sounding like she was far away form the two but close enough she could still be heard. Smith meanwhile was sitting down on a chair that was near a old looking wooden table. He could see what looked like maps sprawled on the table along with many books showing a strange language that seemed familiar to him.

Kara could see that Smith was in no mood to start the conversation. She filled in for now. "We need to know what Smith will be able to do, what to expect, and if there is anything else we need to know about. And if you could show him how to use his new powers, that would be great."

"I'ra yutra..Smith dona uu varata Ta pulta ovr tnre, I'ra ionra equai ga" Leonore spoke in the Feyian language, Smith slowly noticing a withered flower beside him as he reached out like he understood what he mother said. When his hand touched the flower it shook and soon began to grow to have bright orange pedals.

"Er... can you understand what she's saying? And what just happened? I don't speak fey, and I don't know the spell to comprehend languages" Kara said to Smith. She looked at the flower, amazed that it had been restored to perfect health with just a touch.

"I told him to touch that flower, And try to help that flower grow" Leonore said her voice sounding closer then before, "Your power at the moments is spare but i want to help your power grow...but only if you need it. If not then you may leave at your leisure" She said with a hint of sadness in her voice.

Smith removed his hand from the flower placing his hands into his lap, Thinking for a moment on what he would do.

“Thank you.” Feeling rather pleased at the compliment, Yssil smiled a small but genuine smile. Adykon apparently knew exactly how to motivate someone and that was nothing if not a sign of a good instructor. Yssil was truly glad to have risked it all and made his way across the continent. He had been here not even a day and yet he saw that his decision had been right. Feeling his breathing returning to normal, he carefully deposited the metal greatsword in the weapon’s rack and took a wooden sword instead. Its comparative lightness almost startled Yssil, even though he was expecting it, and he swung it a few times just to get used to it. Recalling the focus he had been praised for, Yssil stepped into the practice area and announced “I’m ready.”

"Smith, this really is an opportunity for you. Without training, you're already more powerful than I am. With just a bit of training, who knows what you'll be able to do. How could anyone pass it up?" Kara said, encouraging her lover.

Adykon took up a wooden sword and looked at Yssil suspiciously. The young dracon had caught his breath, but that didn't mean he was fully ready. A truly experienced fighter knew what subtle signs to look for.

"Alright, good to know. Nice to see initiative. Come at me. Give me your best swing, nothing held back. I can take it, don't worry." He lifted the sword, ready to parry with the wooden blade against any incoming blows.

"I guess...how long will the training take?" He asked his mother while the young man was trying to relax in his chair, However he felt a sharp pain in his back making him stand still as wood. "The training could take thirteen human years or so depending on different factors, The fastest anyone has done the train was four years but...only a Fa'twa could do such a thing and they do not come into the earth for many decades" Leonore said softly moving close so now the two could only see her shadow and the figure of her shadow.

"I... that long?" Kara had thought that it would take only a few months, hopefully even weeks. "I- well, Leonore, could you give Smith some notes or something? Or train him in a few things now and help him out more later? If this training is a long-term thing, he'll have to do it while still at home. I don't think he wants to stay here for years."
