Haven Shield Airbase - Darwin

General Commander Theodore Narra, the highest-ranking leader of the Havenite People's Protection Forces, had sent out a call through the permacrete corridors and tunnels of the military base, summoning the pilots of the 1st International Volunteer Battalion to the Operations Room. As he awaited their prompt arrival in the light of the holographic projectors on the walls and central table, the brown-skinned man of Filipino-Kurdish descent pondered the situation: He had been right in his belief that Red-Star would launch their strongest attack here.

Bringing up a holographic model of Red-Star's fleet, he counted them; 6 Floating Carriers, 6 Floating Dreadnoughts, and dozens of support ships and transports to deal a crushing blow to Haven's forces to the region.

As the pilots began to filter in, the General Commander got up in order to solemnly face the team; it would not do to be disrespectful to the men and women who depended on him. His first words were, "Volunteer Battalion, it is a great honor to finally meet you as one group."

A pause as he gestured to the holographic projection. "As of 08:00, military time, the Red-Star armada has reached the waters surrounding Darwin, just a short distance from the kinetic shields..." He swept his palm across the projector, causing it to change into an overview of the city that was surrounded by shimmering fields which overlapped with each other, and continued, "Their blockade is complete, and it is only the kinetic barriers projected by this base that stop all fast-moving objects from entering Darwin that prevent them from bombarding this place back to the stone age. That and their desire to take slaves for work and 'breeding'."

Theodore paused as he gestured once more, bringing up another hologram, that of a black NC entering in with a battalion of support vehicles and power-armored infantry. "Thankfully, I was able to slip a few reinforcements into Darwin; mostly members of the Havenite Women's Protection Forces. Haven Fleet Three is also moving in from the Outback," at the mention of Haven's Third Fleet, the hologram changed by itself to show a smaller armada of floating airships; Missile Cruisers, Destroyers, and Light NC Carriers.

He continued, "The Fleet, despite being small in numbers and size, is more mobile than Red-Star's own fleet, and carries its own complement of flying NCs. They're a campaign-winning asset all on their own because of that; thank the Ancients for putting Haven Burrow near a large cache of NC Cores. Nevertheless, victory in this war relies on us being able to inflict enough casualties at Red-Star that the Third Fleet has a chance of dealing a viable deathblow. This will not be easy due to the enemy's numbers advantage." Theodore then revealed his trump card. "However, we do have good news - we've found out the enemy's chief asset."

Theodore brought up a hologram of a male redhead with purple eyes who looked to be no more than 18. "This is Osamu Akiyama, an artificial human built by Red-Star, much like our recent defector," he meant Terra. "Osamu's main shtick is that he can take control of NCs remotely using a 'biological computer' in his brain that can enter a Mech's 'Neural Net'. This ability means that anyone, any one of our NCs can turn against us without warning. So be prepared to shoot each other down - non-fatally, of course."

He turned silent, before bringing up holograms of two people marked 'Alexander Sky' and 'Mako Shintai' and their Mecha. "I presume you know these people already; Red-Star's 'Chainbringer Team', composed of the 'Bane of Denver-Vegas' and his apprentice. Treat them as the danger that they are, but if they and their NCs can be captured just like they've nabbed so many pilots, do so - that's an order."

Theodore breathed out. "Now, it is the usual protocol for Red-Star to bombard the city with cruise missiles and other forms of ordnance in order to test the kinetic shields. The Science Division has assured us that they will fail and the barriers will hold, giving your team a few hours to interact and build a proper team. As I am a sane, rational, and somewhat humane officer, I do not object to this, so I am offering you three choices of pre-battle team-building."

The holoprojector on the central table then showed the base's bar, the base's Kurdish-style coffeehouse, and a Kurdish-style bathhouse. "The three options are the Bar - Yes, we have a Bar; I'm not a Muslim and those of us that are believe that large portions of Islamic Law no longer apply - the Coffeehouse - we serve a lot of Ethiopian and Yemeni Coffee; supplies are courtesy of our allies - and of course, the Baths - fraternization laws are relaxed in the area as long as you don't make someone pregnant or pass STDs or otherwise violate Ethical Hedonism..."

Name: Ashton Andrews

Race: Human

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Artwork Originally of Jason Levasseur from Moonlight Apparition, a webcomic made by one Darkhalo4321; all credit given to her.

Backstory: Ashton can remember a life back on Earth, a happy and privileged life with friends and videogames and school. It was uneventful until the Reapers came, and the boy was torn from his roots as he and his parents fled the planet in a hasty evacuation. The next few years were a whirlwind of privations and movements in a refugee convoy, where the boy quickly eluded his parents' attempts to shield him from hardship and found an apprenticeship as a locksmith and programmer, helping make facilities more secure. In time, his mentor, a Batarian outcast nicknamed 'Rigger', began giving him more concrete lessons not just on cyber-security, but security in general.

When the Reaper Invasion ended, Ashton and his parents went back to Earth to rebuild their lives, but he never forgot Rigger. As the young man continued his lessons in security and cybersecurity over the Extranet, he also realized that what can be used to keep intruders and hackers out can be used to let them in. This lesson, though basic, was irrelevant for a time... Until news reached him that Rigger had disappeared into Omega itself. Knowing that his parents, or most of Humanity, would not allow a child to go off alone to rescue a Batarian, Ashton knew he had to arrange his departure from Earth as discreetly as possible.

He then began taking on cyber-security and security jobs over the Extranet, using an anonymous identity: Aegis. As Aegis, he protected several business establishments from hackers and thieves, and even managed to receive a payment from a mid-level bank in exchange for preventing a major heist even before it began. But even as he pocketed the money from these jobs, he was researching Omega, looking for an opportunity to go on a trip to the 'heart of the Terminus Systems'.

Opportunity arrived when one of his uncles who had been seperated from the rest of his family by the Reaper War and subsequent population displacements was reported to have turned up in Illium, and Ashton's father decided to visit his brother and take Ashton with him. Ashton saw it as his chance to slip away and rescue his old mentor. So upon arrival in Illum's spaceport, Ashton carefully slipped away just as his father was distracted by a toilet break, although he did leave behind a moderately-encrypted note saying where he was going and what he was doing.

Evading both police and criminals by a mix of lying, bribery, and taking calculated risks, Ashton slowly made his way towards the Terminus Systems, doing more security and cyber-security jobs as Aegis as he did so. His last operation was to do some work for a PMC Company working in Omega, in the hopes that he can get their services as 'security' in return.

But then his luck ran out. The PMC that he had done work for, and planned to hire, found out that not only was he Aegis himself, but also working alone. And as they were the unscrupulous type of PMC, they planned to enslave him and sell him off to the highest bidder in response. But Ashton, in a fit of justified paranoia, managed to plant a bot in their closed network that notified him that he was going to be kidnapped, and so the young man managed to give his would-be captiors the slip... Only to find himself in Omega and without any way to survive, much less rescue Rigger. Was this the end for him?

Specialty: Infilitrator

Powers/Skills: Ashton is an expert in security and cyber-security, which translates to hacking, infilitration, and preventing the same things from happening to his side. Although not a good pistol shot or knife user like actual professional infilitrators, Ashton has the brains to compensate for that, and is able to act as mission control or a direct agent. He is also reasonably athletic.

Equipment: Civilian attire including a knife-proof vest underneath his clothes, a backpack containing food and water rations, a miniature flashlight that can be used to blind enemies or as a club, meta-material rope, omni-tool and miniature personal computer, and a stolen pistol from the PMC he ran away from.

Misc:

"I've never seen a hacker I can't keep away," - Personal Quote.

NCQuest: A Mecha RP - The Relief of Cape Town

The Lore Thread

The year is 2577, 500 years after a Nuclear War that ended the Age of the Nation-State. Now, the world is split between Independents; settlements and towns living a hardscrabble life in the wastelands, and the Ruling Corporations, eight large organizations that have seized large portions of the planet and its people for themselves. The majority of the Ruling Corporations' personnel are tyrannical and arbitrary, twisted by long isolation from the masses whose work supports their way of life. The average person in Corporate territory lives in fear, bowed down by heavy burdens in a soulless environment, before dying quickly and painfully.

Complicating the picture are the Neural Combatants (NCs), giant humanoid machines left behind by the nations of the world before everything burned in nuclear fire. Using technology that binds together brain and machine, all NCs have Cores that cannot yet be duplicated by even the most advanced Corporation; these Cores, when attached to a body, allow the pilot to conduct feats of strength and speed that borders on the supernatural. In essence, Neural Combatants use technology that makes Mecha work; the impractical made practical. The more NC Cores a Corporation has, the better they are in the constant warfare that covers the planet today.

But now, that balance is changing. With the help of stolen research from the other Ruling Corporations, Tshwane Mining Inc., the rulers of Sub-Saharan Africa, have done the impossible: Rediscover how to create new NC Cores. This gives them the potential to manufacture legions of new Mechs, and thus disturb the finely held balance between the Ruling Corps.

Now, Cape Town in South Africa, where the initial research was done, is being besieged by the Denver-Vegas, Fairbanks, and Paragon Corporations; all three have invested in a gigantic army to conduct said siege, while Volkov, the very strongest Ruling Corp has pressured Tshwane's ally, Al-Amir Group of Companies, to stay in the Middle East lest it face total destruction from the north.

So Tshwane's CEO, Katlego Kgosi, has resorted to desperate measures: He has called upon Haven, the collection of Independents that still rule Australia, to provide the help other Corporations would not provide; Haven, despite concluding a recent war against Red-Star, still has forces to spare for a relief expedition - particularly as Katlego has offered a tantalizing prize; a copy of the research on creating new NC Cores!

Consult the Lore Thread linked above if you want more info.

Rules

1.) No godmoding, metagaming, or mary sues.
2.) Be civil.
3.) Do not be an asshole.
4.) Post length is five sentences minimum, but longer posts are encouraged, of course. GMs are also bound by this rule.
5.) Antagonists (Paragon, Denver-Vegas, and Fairbanks) need special GM Permission to be allowed.
6.) Consult the Lore Thread (linked under the picture) if you want to know more about how NCs, Independents, and Corporations work.
7.) Post promptly; this RP will automatically end in two months (three at the minimum) no matter what plot remains to be done.

Academy of Noble Arms - With TheHangedMan's permission

Noble Arms. A mysterious power that surfaced during the twilight of World War II - a fact that even today have made many sigh in relief; for the power that Noble Arms lent to its master would have undoubtedly made the already destructive conflict so much more terrible. At present time, institutions have been founded in order to control the rapidly surfacing ability to summon powerful weapons - weapons that could, to the bafflement of scientists today, disregard the laws of physics.

Noble Arms are tools that are innate in the users mind, and summoned by their will into reality. For reasons that still cannot be explained despite years of research, Noble Arms only take the form of weapons from before the First World War, however, despite the antiquity of these forms, the power they bare to the battlefield is unlike anything modern technology has been able to produce.

The ability to manipulate the elements to the users will.

Force that can reduce matter down to atoms in seconds.

The strength to withstand the explosion of a nuclear missile.

All of these powers and more still have surfaced along side Noble Arms, and the ones who bear them, the Arms Masters, are sought after by countries all around the world. Where once the strength of a country was decided by the technological strength of their Army, it is now judge by the power of their Arms Masters.

It is now 2020, and the tradition of Arms Masters has been deeply established in society. There are academies, schools, and programs dedicated to advancing the abilities of Arms Masters for the sake of their country. Truly, there can be no doubt as to the influence that Arms Masters and Noble Arms holds in today's generation.

Focus now on the Trinidad Noble Arms Academy; based in the Philippines, Trinidad is an international school known for its low standards and high graduation rate. It is a school that produces second-rate and mediocre Arms Masters, with no notable achievements save one: it was the Academy that produced the Hero of 1987, Angelito Jaime who single-handedly ended the war between the ASEAN member nations and China before it had even begun.

Now, though its reputation is tattered and its results unspectacular, Trinidad remains a highly populated Academy, boasting of a population of over 2000 students. This is due in part, to Trinidad's unique scholarship system that allows the lower class, who normally are unable to enroll in an Arms Masters Academy, to enroll. However, this year, things have changed; the director had suddenly passed-away, and another one has taken his place. This Director is driven, determined, and powerful. He has announced that he would be remaking the Academy into a first-rate producer of Arms Masters around the world, and he would take that first step by announcing the schools participation in the Noble Arms Summit - an international meet for all Arms Masters, and the main event is the Noble Arms Summit Student Tournament. The Director will achieve this goal by all means; even if it means culling down hundreds of incapable students.

What path will you take on the dawn of this sudden revolution?

Note: This isn't Canon Kingdom Hearts, but rather an Alternate Version of the setting in which Disney Worlds are replaced by Parallel Earths based on counterfactual histories. See below to see what the equivalent of Disney Castle is.

Kingdom Hearts: The Lights of the Multiverse

Long ago, there was One World, One Earth, and One Timeline, a world filled with Darkness and Light in unequal measures, with a greater proportion of Darkness to Light. This world, thought many, was doomed to fall, until one Hero delved into the secrets of the Light. He discovered that said Light flowed from an unseen land by the name of Kingdom Hearts, and that if he could just burst the barrier that seperated this world from this source of Light, he can save the timeline.

And so, he did...but with unforseen consequences. For what was once one world was separated to many, each with varying levels of Light and Dark. Now, any possibility for Earth to change, even the 'absurd' and 'impossible' ones, now sprang off into its own timeline, creating, for the first time, a Multiverse. The weapon the Hero used to create the Multiverse is called the X-Blade (Pronounced Key-Blade), and, seeing the consequences of his actions, the Hero shattered it into several pieces.

However, it was too late; the people of the various timelines saw, nay, knew, what had been done to them, and so created Lesser Keyblades in the shape of the X-Blade, so as to attempt to search for, and dominate, Kingdom Hearts. But, because of their hubris and ambition, they all failed, killing each other off except for a few repentant surviors, who swore off any attempt to dominate the Multiverse, and instead, chose to preserve it.

In time, the people of the Multiverse forgot about The Hero, the X-Blade, and the survivors of the Keyblade Wars, and slipped into complacency, thinking that their worlds were the only true ones. And so, centuries of peace and development passed. Then, one day, on the world of Shining Field, a Scholar in the House of Wisdom discovered the secrets of the Past, of the Light...and Darkness.

Only a few years after that, Shining Field burned, destroyed by an onslaught of Heartless, strange, black monsters with yellow eyes, who were resistant to most mortal weapons, and who, after destruction, merely reformed in another part of the world to continue their rampage. The Heartless consumed the majority of the inhabitants, man, woman, and child, before turning upon the Heart of the World, its Core of Light.

After that, more worlds burned in quick succession, as Heartless began emerging everywhere, like an unchecked plague. Not merely that, but there were hints that the Heartless were...guided, controlled by an unseen intelligence. And as if to add to the chaos and strife of the situation, strange beings called the Nobodies also emerged, sometimes fighting the Heartless, sometimes conquering their own stretches of territory.

And the Keyblade Order...was nowhere to be seen.

But there is hope: Creatures called Moogles have appeared throughout the worlds, offering trade links, technology and magic that would give the worlds a fighting chance against the Heartless, and finally, ships that can connect to other worlds. In addition to this, people from all over the world with strong hearts have begun manifesting Keyblades of their own, weapons that are super-effective at killing Heartless, preventing them from reconstituting elsewhere. Now, the worlds prepare to strike back, and find out who is behind this strange onslaught on the Multiverse...

-------

If you found that too long to read, then here's a summary:

Strange creatures called Heartless are taking over the worlds, the Moogles have come to save us through the power of trade, and people are spontaneously manifesting the Keyblade, a weapon that kills Heartless in droves. Also, there's Magic. And Technolgy. Sometimes a combination of both. Oh, and instead of Disney-based worlds, you get to travel to alternate timelines.

1.) No Godmoding or Powergaming, aka no controlling other players' actions, no defeating your enemy in one shot, and no shrugging of all hits without a magical shield.
2.) Any consenting relationship between people of the same age group is allowed, whether it's Homosexual or Hetrosexual. If you cannot stand such things, don't post here in the first place.
3.) Be polite to others.
4.) Yes, you can play a non-human if he/she/they are not overpowered.
5.) New Rule: All players must come from a universe with Humans and with a connection to Earth/Earth History. It can be as unrealistic as you want, but it must be 1.) coherent, and 2.) have at least some baseline Humans.
6.) New Rule: Final Fantasy Magic works everywhere except when Final Fantasy Anti-Magic is applied.
7.) New Added Rule: Please post once a week.

Basic CS skeleton:

Name:

Akatsuki Ascot

Apperance:

Age:

26 but looks 20.

Grade:

N/A

Biography:

Akatsuki was born to a branch of the Ascot Family that had gone to Yekaterina in order to record its history without changing it, having decided to maintain the original objectives of their mission from the God of Stories. But in a country such as Yekaterina, this was enough to be considered treason if this was found out. And in the reign of Tsar Boris VIII, this was found out and the Ascots of that country, including Akatasuki's then-pregnant mother, were shipped off into a Gulag. And thus, Akatsuki's birth occured in... Less than pleasant circumstances.

Growing up in a Gulag was tough, with the other prisoners having to give up food and water so one can live past the first few years of childhood. No relief came when one was old enough to work, as it also meant that one was old enough to be punished and abused for any reason at all, real or perceived. One exception was when, during the short breaks the prisoners were allowed, his parents told him about the history of their family and the stories they were meant to record and protect. Not merely that, but his powers were also useful for the grueling work the Gulag laborers were used to, so he was allowed to learn how to use them, but not to the point where he can out-skill his jailors.

His childhood and adolescence also coinicded with the war Yekaterina was waging against its neighbors at that time, and that war's end was what saved Akatsuki and his family from a life of servitude; when Boris VIII lost his throne, one of the terms for allowing his nephew Viktor to succeed him was the freedom of most (but not all) prisoners from the Gulags. At last, Akatsuki knew freedom, and he and his family knew better than to spend it in Yekaterina. But as the young man entered the truck taking him and his parents away from the vile place, all he can feel was sadness about the friends he left behind and their families.

Rhea was a new world for him, and his relatives in that city were like a breath of fresh air. Cyrus and Gilgamesha were kind people, while their son Alexander, a few years his junior, was a bit zealous but kind. But when he looked at the youngest member of the Rhean Ascots, William, a shadow fell across his mind. Trouble was waiting and the young man with his insistence on changing the current stories of Rhea to be less tragic was at the heart of it. In fact, the reason for the schism, the need to record the ongoing stories of the world versus the need to change them, still stood and that was tragic. Akatasuki listened to his parents, then Cyrus and Alexander (Gilgamesha remained neutral), before deciding on what he wanted to do.

And that was to act as damage control should either side of the family make damaging decisions. Taking a job as an analyst in the Rhean Military's Intelligence Department, Akatsuki saved up the money that he made, took the time to form contacts, and honed the powers he had; all for the time when the Ascot Family has to fight for its existence once more.

Powers:

Core Power - The Story of The Raven: Akatsuki can transform into a flock of 26 Spirit Ravens (the number is equivalent to his age); these Spirit Ravens can fly, see through magical illusions or concealment, talk in human speech and language, and transport themselves to other realms, such as the Ancient Evil's Hells, The Void (where they are able to survive its energy, but not use it), or Limbo. Note that said ravens are only as resilient as normal birds, can be killed with mundane or magical force, and should all of them die, Akatsuki dies as well.

That said, any of his Ravens can transform back to him; the rest vanish should he do so.

First Power - Wings of the Storm Raven: Two black wings extend from Akatsuki's back, which not only allow him to fly in the air - Work on this Character Sheet has been cancelled.

Relationships:

Rivals and nemeses, reputations preceding, perhaps even some special feelings for a special person. This section is optional, but it's nice.

Edit: Disclaimer - this is not canon-compliant with Dark Ages: Mage, due to the fact that I don't have that book. Expect me to make things up for areas where there isn't any available information. Also, we are using Spheres instead of Foundations for Mage powers.

======

Mage the Ascension: Turmoil in the Dark Ages

The year is 1211 AD, and Europe has plunged deeper into the Dark Ages. Seven years ago, the Fourth Crusade concluded with the Sacking of Constantinople, the greatest Christian City on Earth, by the very people sworn to protect the Christian Faith. In this bloody debacle, both sides were at fault, betraying and deceiving each other not knowing that they were merely pawns in a greater game; the supernatural intrigues of Vampire and Mage both. For the hidden forces in the World of Darkness work to further their ancient agendas, no matter how many innocent Mortals are slaughtered among the way.

But there is hope. Theodore I Laskaris, the Emperor of Nicaea and the legal heir of the Eastern Roman Empire, has temporarily turned the tide of Turkish expansion in the Battle of Antioch on the Meander; this heroic victory has bought time for the supernatural organizations still loyal to the Legacy of Greece and Rome to gather together and make one last attempt to repair increasingly wide breaches in beliefs and methods. Factions of the Messianic Voices, Artificers, Hippocratic Circle and Order of Hermes have decided to hold this meeting in the city of Nicaea, where the Christian Faith once clarified its canon and dogma. Time will tell whether this will avert the coming battle between Reason and Tradition...

In the west of the Balkans, then called the Haemus Mountains, Boril of Bulgaria is preparing to invade the so-called ''Latin Empire of Constantinople', the nation of travesty set up by the Crusaders after their 'Fourth Crusade'. Siding with him is an entire tribe of Werewolves, the Silver Fangs, who fancy themselves the nobility of their race. Unknown to him, the Vampires that now control the former lands of the Eastern Roman Empire have arranged for his defeat; planning to outwit the Werewolves instead of fighting them head-on. Who will win in the coming conflict?

In Turkish territory further east, the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum is in a civil war as Kaykaus I fights with his brothers for the throne of the Sultanate, giving their Christian neighbors peace for a time. But sinister forces are at work; Vampires and Mages work to influence the succession, with the Werewolves being kept out of the halls of power and into the countryside. But among their ranks are the Baali and Nephandi; dark examples of each group who believe in plunging the world into pain and suffering, madness and rot. But the Assamites, Vampire-Assassins with True Faith in Islam, work to ensure that the Infernal does not succeed.

But traders from Western Europe are bringing new ideas, new currents of thought; among these traders are Mages known as the Craftmasons, and they also bring hope - Hope that the common man shall be free from the chains of mortal subjugation and supernatural predation, and be free!

Noble Arms: Restoring Hope

In the twilight of World War II, a mysterious power surfaced among select humans. This power, the Noble Arm, was the ability to conjure up a paranormal weapon that can defy the laws of physics, a weapon innate in the user's mind and summoned by their will into reality.

Where once the strength of a country was decided by the technological strength of their Army, it is now judged by the power of their Arms Masters.

But this state of affairs has produced sadness and strife; the world was not prepared for the possibility of superhumans, people who just by existing, challenge the notion of equality between men. And so Arms Masters and Normal Humans live in an uneasy state of coexistence, with radicals on both sides wishing to shatter the peace and dominate one another.

The year is 2020, ten years since the Union of Arab Republics was shattered by the Hammer of Masters, an organization which believes that Arms Masters are not part of humanity, but a 'master race' destined to dominate the world. The Hammer, relying on the immense power of their Noble Arms, broke the governments and armies of Syria and Iraq (Egypt is fine; it regained its independence from the UoAR some decades ago), establishing the 'State of Masters', a regime dedicated to the supremacy of those who held Noble Arms. But in the moment of their triumph, their 'Malik', Yusuf Al-Kindi, was poisoned by a discontented slave, and their state fell apart.

Now was the turn of the second group of radicals, the Disablers, to emerge. Normal humans who believed that Arms Masters were a seperate race of monsters and freaks, the Disablers felt vindicated in their genocidal creed and with help from volunteers from the United States, Europe, and Russia, sparked an armed revolt where guns, bombs, and poison proved the bane of many members of the State of Masters. Exterminating even innocent children, the Disablers brought down the remnants of the State of Masters, plunging the centre of the Middle East into an anarchic void.

Enter Operation: Symbiosis. An armed force funded by multiple nations, corporations, and the two rival organizations called the Arms of Nobility and Organization for Disarmament, Operation Symbiosis is a numerous, well-funded, but fractious force divided in its goals. Should it restore order to the region, or just be content with dismantling the remnants of the State of Masters and the more radical Disablers? Should it ally with local forces to do so, even those that profess religious radicalism (like that has ever worked in other worlds)?

And if it did both of those things, should it attempt a utopian vision in which Arms Masters and Normal Humans cooperate with one another instead of conflict, and if so, does it have a chance?

Only time, and your involvement, will tell.

Digimon Sliders - Children of Eniac

Long ago, there was the Atanasoff-Berry Computer, the first digital computer in the world. After him came ENIAC, the most well-known of the early computing machines. As they operated on Earth, they created another plane of existence, the Digital World, a mirror of the world of matter inhabited by sapient creatures called Digimon. Wishing to create more of these dimensions, ENIAC and Atanasoff created the various Yggdrassil units, to go to other worlds in the Multiverse and create Digital Worlds there, and Digimon to inhabit them. And for a while, this worked...until the Ygdrassil Units' flaws made themselves evident.

For the Yggdrassil units slowly became overprotective at best, prideful and arrogant in the middle, and tyrannical at worst. And one world's Yggdrassil was not only the last type, but harbored ambitions of waking his siblings to the truth of the Multiverse, so that they can all band together and take it over, usurping ENIAC and Atanasoff in the process. This Yggdrassil failed, foiled by a band of unlikely heroes.

Or was he? For in his final throes, this Yggdrassil, Yggdrassil-666, managed to send one last transmission out of his universe, a transmission received by another Yggdrassil, and another, and another, until they all realized the truth; they were not alone, while their creators, Atanasoff and ENIAC, were weakened from recent conflicts.

And so the remaining Yggdrassils allied with each other to form the Great Yggdrassil Alliance, with the intent of combining their legions into one Multiverse-conquering army of unstoppable force. But first, they had to overthrow ENIAC and Atanasoff, and even at the end of their strength, the two were still formidable.

Sounding their metaphorical trumpets, the two Supercomputers called forth Chosen Children and their Digimon from other worlds, asking them to fight once more, to band against the enemy that seeks to take over all worlds...

-------

Okay, you must be lost, wondering, who are Atanasoff and ENIAC and why are they the creators of Yggdrassil and the various Digital Worlds? Well, ENIAC and co come from various Digimon Video Games not released outside of Japan, linky here*. And, well, let's just say that they are calling various Digimon and Chosen Children, some Canon, others Original Characters, to help them.

Does this mean that you can play Taichi, Sora, and the original Digidestined? Sure! However, some characters like Ryo Akiyama and Ruki Makino, are restricted for in-universe reasons.

There's also a third option, such as alternate versions of the Canon Characters (for example, an Osamu from a universe where Ken died).

Anyway, have fun!

Digimon: Dawn's Glimming

You have received a ticket to an exclusive resort in the Philippines as part of a mysterious promotional project, and against your better judgement, you have decided to take it. And surprise, surprise, you are actually enjoying yourself when a freak blackout, then a storm, covers the entire resort, transporting you and other children and teenagers who had received the same message to the Digital World, a dimension composed of the computer data of Humanity, mixed with the latter's emotional energies.

But first, a brief explanation as to why you are here...

In the 1940s, the Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC) and Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) were invented, one after the other. They created the first Digital World, the one we know today as the world of Digimon Adventure*. Then after them came the various Yggdrassil units, supercomputers who implanted themselves into countless parallel universes, creating Digital Worlds in each of them as well. A few of these Yggdrassil units were benevolent, some were arrogant and tyrannical, but a few were merely devoted to esoteric goals and agendas.

The local Yggdrassil merely wished to find others like himself, yet this goal was already enough to do damage, as in order to breach the walls between universes, said local Yggdrasil had to bust a hole in the Digital World; this would kill those inhabitants who cannot get to safety. Seven of the most powerful Digimon objected to that not just because their homes were threatened, but because they wanted Yggdrasil's power for themselves.

These Seven Digimon, later known as the Seven Demon Lords/Seven Deadly Sins, attacked Yggdrasil as the latter were about to begin his plan, and killed him. They then took over the Digital World, replacing Yggdrassil's destructive neglect with their own destructive malice.

Dorumon, the leader of Yggdrassil's Royal Knights, decided to resurrect him by recruiting eight human children to partner with eight Digimon, and the bonds that they form were intended to create emotional energy that will advance the Digimons' evolutions and their own skills. After that, the plan is for them to overthrow the Seven Deadly Sins and then use the power of their bonds to revive Yggdrasil... Who would be free to burst open holes in the Digital World once more in an attempt to contact his siblings as well as the ABC and ENIAC. Note that he does not plan on telling you this, as some secrets are best kept hidden.

So yes, this is a morally grey tale where you choose between willful evil and wanton destruction, unless you figure things out and come up with your own solution - Then things are black and white once more.

*This is Canon, by the way, see this link. And yes, they were Canon Characters before Yggdrasil was a thing.

THE STARS FELL TO THEE - BORROWED FROM ANOTHER SITE WITH PERMISSION

IC: N/A yet.

THE STORY

In the year 2135, Earth, and by extension its colony's in the solar system, fall due to massive climate change, resource shortages, and nuclear war. All seems to be at an end for humanity. For all intents and purposes, it appears that the reign of humans has come to a close. However, despite the collapse of our home world and our fledgling interplanetary empire, we as a species were saved by an enigmatic, powerful, and mysterious alien race. Calling themselves the Shvii Hegemony, the humans saved by them learned quickly that we were not alone in the galaxy. Far from it in fact, we were just one of many, most of which lived and worked under the Hegemony. The Shvii helped the rescued humans get back on their feet, proving them with the resources and technologies required for them to become an equal player in the Hegemony, just another addition to the mass of intelligent species who made it up.

However, as the newest and least experienced race to be uplifted, as well as for our violent history as a species, Humans were looked down upon. It didn't help that humans began to find their place in this new society as mercenary's and fighters, eventually becoming the go to when there was a morally ambiguous problem that had to be eliminated. Many other species began to view humans as simultaneously a threat to the galactic power structure and dirty bottom feeders, surviving by doing the dirty work for cash.

For 800 years this was the state of things, with the aliens we had met attempting to halt the rise in human influence, and humans taking it wherever they could. For saving our species however, the Shvii were treated as almost gods, and humans were as a result beholden to them in many ways. But that is not to say that there was no push back. A large portion of humanity resented the amount of Shvii influence in human affairs, believing that they were using us to fight there wars for them, and manipulating our way of life to their advantage.

Then one day, in the year 876 in the Post Terran Era, when a young student at a university discovered a book. It was paper, something that was more of a status symbol than the norm, and was clearly very old, which was just what he was looking for as he was studying old earth cultures. The book was Moby Dick, and inside was the handwritten message, "find the Pequod, find home," and a series of star coordinates. Believing that he was on the verge of a major find in the study of Old Earth, the young man tried to get a grant from his university to find what was on the other end of those coordinates, and when he couldn't get one, he organised an expedition of his own. But once they were there, they discovered that there was a lot more at play in those star coordinates and that cryptic message than there appeared to be.

This RP will follow that expedition, with the RPers taking on the roles of various scientists, mercenary's, pilots and so on who are duped into helping on this adventure. Eventually they will discover a series of conspiracy's and cover ups perpetrated by the Shvii concerning humanity, how we came to be, the location of Old Earth, and the true nature of why so much space has gone unexplored.

HELLO AND WELCOME

Hello, and welcome to And All The Stars Fell to Thee. This is a personal project Ive been working on for a few months now, and ive been really looking forward to trying it out as an RP. The basic premise is as the THE STORY section details. Humans have survived the end of the earth because we were saved by a seemingly friendly alien race called the Shvii, who help us get back on our feet and begin operating as a part of the interstellar community called the Shvii Hegemony, which as the name suggests, is a society where the Shvii reign on top and are treated as almost godlike by the races below them.

Humans in this new environment form a society that operates as a confederacy, with many separate Houses, Guilds, Corporations and Country's that make it up and have agreed to work together, but who all have a significant degree of autonomy from one another. In practice, it works similarly to the UN, but interstellar, and any faction of group of factions can choose to leave whenever they please. There are many different environs present in this society, and culture can shift greatly depending on where you are, from the greatly lawless and dangerous Outer Systems, to the bureaucratic and political Core Systems, and even beyond human space in other areas of the Hegemony. There is the Central Station, where member races gather to discuss affairs, trade and communicate, and the territory's, both claimed and unclaimed, of many other factions and species and governments.

The characters will be initially regulated to being just scientists, navigators, and mercenary's hired for the initial expedition, but as the story progresses and more NPC characters and events are introduced, different character roles will be introduced for the players to have, depending on the NPC's and cultures we pass through.

So, sit back, relax, grab some snacks, and strap yourselves in for a wild ride of conspiracy, crime, adventure, and most importantly, the study of Old Earth Cultures.

7. Unless your character is picked up on a joint colony world or a space station, they should be human. After all, at its core this RP is about humans leaning the true fate of humanity.
8. Speaking of other races, if you have an idea for characters from another race, you must fill out the Alien Race App before you can post anything about said character.
9. Ive already said so on the app itself, but please do not alter the app in any way. If you feel like it could help in some way, please ask me first.

((This is merely the Int Check, not the entire OOC OP.))

Persona: Rejuvenation

Breezeton, Illinois: Once a flourishing center of manufacturing and agriculture on the winding Mississippi river Breezeton has since fallen far, suffering from a loss of jobs and a rising crime rate. This, coupled with the flight of the younger population as they set off for greener pastures in Chicago and beyond, has left Breezeton fractured as townfolk turn on each other in a mindless hunt for someone to blame. Discord and strife run amok on the streets as the farming and industrial sectors wither away, leaving fresh city ground for large tech companies to prey upon as they outsource talent from other cities to push Breezeton’s original residents out.

This deepening divide has created a new Cognitive World: the Memetic Wild. Here creatures called Shadows lurk, that bare fang and claw indiscriminately at one another. If left unchecked this world, as well as the creatures inside, will help perpetuate the cycle of hatred inside Breezeton until the city runs itself is brought to ruin.

There is hope, though. A young woman who carries the power of The Fool has returned to the town she was born in. With this power, she is able to manifest a ‘Persona’—a creature formed by the part of one’s heart and personality that has conquered hate and division. As she grows into this power, gaining understanding and strength, she will gather friends and allies to help her rebuild her home city and fight the darkness threatening to destroy what she holds dear.

The world, however, is not changed by violence alone. To succeed in their quest those fighting the Shadows will have to overcome mistrust and hate to bring new innovation and businesses to the city. Be it restarting the local newspaper or reinvigorating the lackluster Harvest Festival. They will need to learn how to wield their Persona and enlist help from ‘Pillars’, people who have special ties to the Memetic Wild despite being unable to summon a Persona, for only through healing divisions will they be able to restore the city to its former glory.

Persona: Rejuvenation

Breezeton, Illinois: Once a flourishing center of manufacturing and agriculture on the winding Mississippi river, Breezeton has since fallen far, suffering from a loss of jobs and a rising crime rate (including an opioid crisis).

If left unchecked this world, as well as the creatures inside, will help perpetuate the cycle of hatred inside Breezeton until the city is brought to ruin.

They will need to learn how to wield their Persona and enlist help from ‘Pillars', people who have special ties to the Memetic Wild despite being unable to summon a Persona, for only through healing divisions will they be able to restore the city to its former glory.

This is, you guessed it, a Persona game! Taking elements from installments 4 and 5, this game combines them with the theme of ‘Community.’ While Breezeton’s community has developed into one that cuts down those who do not conform our characters will represent the oppressed who are willing to fight for their rights and home. Communities can be built or destroyed, can be changed and renewed, and it is up to your characters and their Social Links to see change and renewal occur on Breezeton’s streets.

Every triumph will open up more of the Memetic Wild to 'civilization' - Repairing Breezeton's roads in Real Life will make travel in the Wild easier and faster while saving/opening businesses will cause milder, more benign Shadows to open shops. Items and treasure acquired in the Memetic Wild also become real in the physical world, thus boosting your purchasing power. But be warned, spending too much will get the IRS after you IRL!

Note however that to prevent PC glut, only 8 PCs will be allowed besides the Wild Card, and the selection process is first-come, first-serve (it originally wasn't going to be, but now it is). However, the GMs reserve the right to reject profiles that aren't just written well.

Important Places in Breezeton (Population, 300,000):

WIP

Sleekswift Local HQ - Sleekswift is a large corporation specializing in information technology and social media, whose purchases of smaller enterprises and start-ups, along with a keen sense of economics and advertising, has driven it to reach a gargantuan size in record time. The regional head of Sleekswift, Ronald T. Mathers, has promised to bring in jobs and infrastructure into Breezeton, but keen observers point out that the contributions he makes towards the town are of a narrow scope, benefiting Sleekswift's interests while leaving the rest of Breezeton behind...

Rules

1.) No godmodding, powerplaying, metagaming, etc. etc.
2.) This RP is not 18+. Gay and Straight romance is permitted, but any NSFW content goes to PMs.
3.) No OOC feuding! If you must argue, be respectful. IC, meanwhile, you can hate each other as much as you like as long as it doesn't seep over to OOC.
4.) Please notify me if you will be gone for more than a week, I myself will let you guys know if I will be gone for that same amount of time.
5.) There can only be one 'Mascot' character, and said Mascot character must not come from an IRL meme (especially as only a few memes are meant to be cute).
