Valeriya sat under a tree, relaxing from her trek around the place trying to do research. Beside her were her three pokemon. Well, two were actually able to be seen. Nincada was buried underground, probably snacking on the tree's roots. The only evidence of its presence was some freshly upturned dirt near Valeriya. Torracat was laid across her lap, being petted by Valeriya. And Metang hovered overhead, just staring out into the distance.

Sarah smith was walking by with her pokemon in her pokeballs. She was looking for a place to sit down and rest. That was when she saw someone sitting under a tree out of the corner of her eye. She stopped in her tracks. She faintly smiled. Then, sarah gave a wave in greeting.

Valeryia waved back at the stranger that appeared. She had expected to see at least a few people out here, and she had seen some while doing her research. But it still had caught her a bit off guard.

"All of mine are out right now, just that one is underground at the moment." Valeriya said, looking at the hole Nincada had made.
All the noise did make Nincada curious, and so she went back to the surface to see what was going on.

Valeryia smiled and looked at each pokemon as they came out. She gently pushed Torracat off of her so she could stand up. He was slightly annoyed, but wasn't overly fussed. He laid down near where Valeriya was sitting, but made sure to face the pokemon that had just appeared.
Metang moved out of the way so she wouldn't hit her head standing up. But it was eyeing up the Arcanine.
"What an interesting team you have." She said smiling. "How long have you been a trainer for? And can I approach some of them, or do they not like strangers getting close?"

Lizzie smiled brightly at Ezra's offer. "Really? That would be really nice of you! And it would help me out a lot!" she said to him cheerfully before turning to face the gym leader that has just approached them. She seemed nice but it did seem a bit sudden for her to offer them a ride to the next town.

"Oh, I ... don't know how I feel about getting in a stranger's vehicle. But thank you for the offer," Lizzie said, tilting her head. "I'm Lizzie by the way. What's your name?" Maybe she could at least get to know the woman before accepting a ride.

"I like roughin' it. Besides, we're looking for pokemon" Ezra responded blatantly. A sudden memory hit him like a thudding brick. He turned to Alice with a squint in his eye as he looked her over.
"Wait a minute" He let out and stepped closer.
"I've heard your name before" He spoke, rubbing his chin as he toiled over where.
"Oh! You're a gym leader. I bet you run the gym nearby, huh?"

Alice blinked again. She looked at the guy that was there too. She nodded but raised an eyebrow. Anyway, she heard him as he seemed to remember something. She nodded again.
"yes, as I said, I am a gym leader, although I am one of the younger ones amongst the surrounding towns."
She shrugged a bit.

Lizzie was surprised to see that the woman in front of them was a gym leader. She seemed nice enough but Lizzie was also prepared to camp out if she needed to. Plus, she would have Ezra around to help her catch a pokemon too. "Maybe... if you're not too busy, you can also come along and help me catch a pokemon, Alice?" Lizzie said, fidgeting with her hair.

"But... If you're super busy or anything with your gym, I totally understand." Lizzie added quickly, figuring that the gym leader wouldn't want to waste time with someone like her. Especially when there were probably trainers who want to challenge her at her gym.

"sure. I was originally out here looking for some new pokemon myself. of course, any I catch with go to the towns' professor to take care of until I need them."
Alice did not bother adding the need to swap out pokemon in order to make them part of the team, even if it was only temporary.
"besides, the gym is open but it is a slow week. not too many trainers are passing through right now."
She blinked when she saw movement.
"speaking of pokemon.."
She pointed to the movement in the distance. It was heading right for them.
