When Levi sings ‘love’ Khalida smirks coyly and puts a hand on his knee and slowly moves up. When the wave is over, her face flushes, and she looks mortified and she yanks her hand as if she’d been burned. She sighs and shakes her head with a soft chuckle.

Layla hugs Shay and rests her chin on his shoulder.

Asa frowns and shrugs. “I just hope I’m not losing my smell.”

Khalida laughs and playfully shoves his arm. “Your the worst.” She takes her seat across from him and sips her water, shaking her head. “I didn’t know you have such an amazing singing voice. And just out of curiosity, what made you pick that song?”

Layla squeals softly and hangs on to him tighter.

Khalida glances up at him and her smile brightens as her cheeks redden slightly.

A guy about their age smirks. “Actually no. We’ve all been waiting for the day when Layla would grow up and get a boyfriend.” Layla scowls and gets off of the bike, her face red. “Your one to talk, Shawn! When’s the last time you’ve ‘grown up enough’ to talk to a girl?!” She sighs and turns back to Shay. “Sorry about them. I wouldn’t have brought you here if I’d known they’d be so damn obnoxious.”

Asa tilts her head and looks up, thinking. “It’s kind of strange though. I hadn’t seen him since before I died, but it’s like I can feel him watching me. Do you feel that way about your parents?”

Khalida looks up mid-chew, and she shakes her head. When she finishes swallowing, she speaks. “Oh uh nothing. Just.. thinking.” She looks away with a faint frown.

Layla shrugs with a small grin. “I like to come here any chance I get when I’m tired of making stuff. Sometimes it’s better to just tear it up, let loose, ya know?”

Asa looks at him, her head still tilted in curiosity. “What’s it like? Knowing your parents?”
