I try to get my guy out of being a secondary character and it gets attacked.

It does. with Connor's communication devices. There problem solved. Makes sense. Two groups. One gets captured the other is there to help. The main group gets captured which it will...

I am not saying perfectly split the party. I mean a chunck goes with Jack and the rest goes with Zack. Just because you don't like it does not mean it is a bad idea.

Jack's plan is to hit whoever it is from two sides. Like flanking them. I know its risky but it is what the group needs.

But we don't know who it is yet or what. That could get them killed or seriously injuried.

Not a bad plan. But you need to have a position to flank. You can't flank without direction. If that's the idea then make one of the groups bait.

You can't judge without knowing. A scout group. A hit and fade group. All work.
I don't care if it is just Jack. Im done just being a piece for the plot to just use. he will go cowboy up and go alone.
