With a swig of the tankard, and a satisfied sigh the armored man looked pensive as he set the now empty cup upon the counter. Thinking back to his most recent tussle with highwaymen "Dealt with a few bandits awhile south from here." he told her as he leaned in on the bar resting an elbow atop the polished wood "Had themselves a bloody orc leader, bloke was the size of a horse I tell you." Vicar laughed gruffly slapping the table, as he recalled the sheer size of the orc.

Madeline summoned herself a madeline-scale cup of tea on a madeline-scale saucer. She'd just taken a sip when her eyes lit up. "Bandits! How exciting!" With a fluid motion she swirled her finger in the air, the empty tankard magically refilling. "I think I've only ever met horses as big as horses! You must have been terrified!" Madeline took another sip of her tea, pinkie extended upward.

Madeline almost looked proud at the saint knight's advice. She was ALREADY scared of an empty coin purse, that must have meant she was wise or something. Still, she issued a little sigh. "I only wish I had my own stories to share ... you know, other than 'this one time an amaaaazing saint came into my cafe and i gave him a nice drink' ... not the most exciting story."

Madeline blushed, it was kind of a compliment to insist that such a place must draw business. She shook her little head, her ears flat from embarrassment. "No, not a soul ... mind you, it's only been open about twenty minutes ... that might be a factor."

Madeline puffed out her cheeks and stood up straight. "Maybe I need to take it on an adventure ... give it some character ..."

She HAD carved it to be fully-shrinkable.

Mind you, with the right spell, it was hard to design things that were, in fact, unshrinkable. So far the only thing invented that had proved ENTIRELY unshrinkable was infinity.

Madeline, looking around once as if she might need something nearby on a grand adventure, gathered her skirts and hopped down from the stool. Dashing after St. Vicar, she followed him outside and turned, clearing her throat before wordlessly swirling her finger at the hand-carved building. With an amusing popping noise it shrank to the size of a large acorn and deposited itself in Madeline's palm ... at which point she encased it in a slightly larger acorn shell and slipped it into her satchel.

"I've never been on an adventure before! ... are ... are you sure you don't mind me tagging along?"

"I wouldn't have asked," St. Vicar untied the stallion from the wooden post it had been grazing next to, where a tuft of grass grew then turned to Madeleine holding out his horses reigns to her "Here lass lead my horse while we walk."

With the soft sound of her paws landing on an open window seal, Nova tilts her head curiously at the duo inside whom was just taking their leave, she hopped down and followed them outside. Who would question and innocent, curious kitten? She was fascinated by the horse reigns that the man handed over to the girl as they looked like string, cats love string. She sat and watched from under the two, her head darting back ans fourth at the reigns moved, her eyes glued to them as she ingored, or more so didn't notice the big horses

Madeline's eyes grew large and damp as she stared at the reigns being handed to her. She'd never led a horse before! Reaching out ever-so-gingerly and accepting them from St. Vicar, the little witch lady in her little witch dress turned to the horse and, in a very stern manner, nodded, and whispered up to the great beast "I won't let you down."

Madeline became aware of another presence, rather suddenly ... the awareness, not the presence! Presences were generally gradual in their comings and goings, but not always. Peering down at the little visitor as the cafe itself shrank, and was packed neatly away inside of an acorn shell, inside of her satchel, she blinked down at the little black and white catten, a wide smile soon spreading across her lips as her pupils grew large.

"Ooooooh, hellooooo, aren't you precious! Is this your little friend Saint?"

Nova gave a soft meow before rubbing against Madeline's leg as she enjoyed attention and pets as most cats do. She then eyed St.Vicar, whom seemed to tower over her kitten form and gave him a gentle nod as if she wantrd to tag along to. Though they weren't aware of her shapeshifting abilities, Nova loved to adventure and knew that she could assist the situation if it becomes dire.

Unfortunately, Nova couldn't speak in this form all she could do was "Meow, Meow Memeow" now realizing she couldn't be understood. Would she reveal herself now or when the time came to?

Madeline tilted her head, then looked down to the little mewling catten again. Well ... she certainly hoped it would follow. Giving it one more smile, she turned her attention back up to Saint and carefully stepped over Nova. "Well, shall we be off?"

Assuming the response would be yes, she set off toward the back end of the massive murder turtle's shell, where it sloped gently to meet the ground at a particularly corpse-free part of the area.
