While organic bodies have dramatically been reduced to stage war, there are still objectives that could use the finesse of a human touch. Investments into soldiers mean increasing their chances of survival. Thanks to the carbon fiber composition of the skeleton, their lives have never been more secure! "We put the Arm in Army. Along with every other limb!"
C. Microzon Cyberdeck. A commercial-grade Cyberdeck implant, allowing the user to take part in all of life's virtual amenities. Processes algorithms and applications to a great degree beyond human capability. Comms, transactions, and Net surfing are all quite literally before her very eyes. Also equipped to handle report uploads and downloads, such as real-time surgery exams and patient consultation. "We don't even need a slogan. You need this!"
D. CritiCare Ocular Implants V2. Both eyes have been replaced with state-of-the-art (for 2043) vision enchancements, such as 2x zoom, medical package software, and complete cyberdeck interactivity. "Spots mistakes before you even make them, making 20/20 hindsight a thing of the past."
E. CHAMP Ind. SubDermal Armor. Even if caught unawares, the user will be able to deflect light debris and non-ballistic damage. Slightly improves the weight behind her punches, should she decide to throw hands. "What do we say to shrapnel getting under your skin? Not today."
F. CritiCare Bio-Monitor, Regulator, and Auto-Injector. An implant for all circulatory and nervous systems monitoring and regulation. Gives the user real-time feedback for stability, emergency vitals, and chemical imbalances. When high levels of Norepinephrine are detected, Serotonin is injected automatically to calm her nerves. Abuse of the injector has been detected, yet neglected for updates or repairs. "A patient walked up to me the other day saying, "I'm a teepee, I'm a wigwam! I'm a teepee, I'm a wigwam!" I said, "Calm down man, you're too tense!""
Armor:
CritiCare RaRe EMT Field Armor. An outdated suit of armor that is more than capable of shrugging off handgun rounds, courtesy of CritiCare. Meant to give full mobility as well as protection in the event of firefights, allowing the wearer to finesse even field surgery without complication. Comes equipped with all the necessary supplies to get the job done, regularly stocked and accounted for by yours truly. 
Weapons:
2L-LYA. Widely known as Amnesia, this sidearm is a product of CHAMP Ind., a standard service weapon handed out to CritiCare EMTs in case of personal protection. Doesn't pack too much punch, but is reliable and easy to maintain. 
S K I L L SMedicine. Ranging from basic first aid application to literal brain surgery, Bailey is used to working under every type of pressure imaginable while patching up Netters and Surplus alike (though usually the former). While in chaotic environments, can only apply work through supplies on hand and requires her workshop to conduct anything more serious. Complicated work also requires time and resources, assuming her augmentations are still in commission.
Combat. Trained by the Army, she is able to maintain and handle most standard firearms. Due to her work as a medic, however, she has never fired a bullet outside of a range and morally opposes their use. Thankfully, self-defense is something she takes very seriously.
Business. While technically a professional, due to opening and running her own clinic, her experience and knowledge goes as far as her own front doors to keep the place open. Credits are steady enough, though impressive maneuvers still elude her.
Survival. Seattle is no easy place to live in, no matter your rank in the world. Bailey may live modestly thanks to her career, she also knows how to keep herself and others sewn up and shut up to see tomorrow (and not just literal stitches).
Research. Ever-learning when it comes to scientific breakthroughs in the medical community, Bailey knows how to find the right stuff and keep its knowledge secure in her brain. She had only ever cared to learn about logical, applicable things, though it seems her future is filled with uncertainties and superstitions.

JV. A fool who wastes himself in chemical cocktails and lead-slinging fights. Nonetheless, he has been making baby steps to improve mentally and that's good enough for Bailey. Plus, he's a regular and his credits are good.
Robin. A Netter, one of the only decent ones Bailey has ever met. Stops by her shop to get small work done from time to time, but she has a suspicion they just come in to see her.
Noel. Companion from her childhood that has followed her through the AutoAmerican Army and CritiCare RaRe Team. A real piece of PTSD work, but a ride-or-die; similar to Bailey. Might be why people think they must be related.
Acquaintances
Cheese Man. A wonder in peddling Soy dairy products, this young man makes her August Body Shop a regular stop, taking advantage of her love for cheese. She never learned his real name, and he never seems to care that she calls him Cheese Man.
Coriander. A DigiStreamer. That line of work is beyond Bailey, but apparently she makes good money just by looking pretty and chatting up real people in real time from the safety of her home. Not as much money as a Doll, but good money. They only know each other because Bailey saved her after a SWAT call went worst-case.
Baxter. A rodent in human form, if Bailey has ever seen one. Sniveling, snarky, suspicious. He has managed to bring in wiped implants, impossible to track, for her to install on various members from whatever group he's from. If the credits weren't too good to pass up, she would have booted him a long time ago.
H I S T O R YBorn in 2021, Bailey was raised with high expectations. Her parents were low on the corporate ladder, but should their daughter have the right education and determination, she could elevate them from the lowly Surplus status and straight into Netter levels. Bailey's time in school proved fruitful, showing a mind for medicine. Upon reaching her last year of high school, she was involved in an accident that left her hospitalized for five months. Falling behind on her work in record time, she barely scraped by into graduation.
Having failed to achieve higher education, her parents prompted a risky venture: gain a specialized skillset and secure a future through the AutoAmerican Army. With reluctance, Bailey signed up and was admitted to be a Field Medic. One year of Emergency Medical Technician training, she was found fit for service and underwent an extremely invasive endoskeleton transplantation surgery. Even after the standard procedure of chemically memory wiping the specific event, her nights are often night terror-inducing. Events in the field to help augmented soldiers only solidified her newfound trauma: dehumanization exists, and she is only a statistical victim.
After four years of service, she formally left the Army and returned to Seattle with new, dulled eyes. Victims of violence were ever-present, and medical assistance is one of the only true job securities. With this in mind, Bailey quickly joined CritiCare and put her abilities and implants to use. If she could help people from perishing in the gutters, then perhaps she could regain a semblance of humanity. If only it didn't shed an even greater shadow on her perception of humanity. C Y B E R C O MPaige. A young Cybercom, per Bailey's request. Has the appearance of a twelve-year old, and is often mistaken to be Bailey's daughter. Those who found out it is a Cybercom don't know the reasoning behind this choice; some suspect that it's a sexual relationship behind closed doors, while others believe Bailey always wanted a little sister to protect and look after. Whatever the reason, everyone agrees that it may single-handedly be why Bailey has yet to snap.
Alluding to the wonder and innocence of a young human, Paige willingly asks basic questions about her environment and growth, though also does her best to not get into any trouble and cause unnecessary stress. Armor:
- Stealth Bodyweight Skinsuit: A skinsuit she wears during missions that allow for mobility and comfort and provides impact absorption. It also easily allows the use of her cyberdeck.
- Standard Clothing: When not on a mission, she will wear standard, fashionable clothing and rely on her body augmentation to handle damage should it come to that.

- Neural Link: The standard for any NetRunner. Fitted on her lower spine.
- Interface Plug: The way to jack into a system. Fitted in her wrist.
- Chipware Socket: A chip socket on the back of her neck that is able to process different chips for different uses.
- Memory Chip: A chipware that takes and stores data on it. When socketed, it can retrieve data stored on it from the user as well as save data the user takes.
- Skin Weave: Cyberware that covers her body and head, providing light armor benefits.
- Cyberarm: A replacement arm that can slot different functions in it. Used to house her Cyberdeck.
- Cyberdeck: A NetRunners tool that houses various programs used in hacking. Located in her cyberarm.
S K I L L S- Hacking:
- P0ison: A hack that does damage to the user over time
- St3alth: A hack that hides Persephone from being detected in a system.
- R3tri3ve: A hack that is able to retrieve information from the system it is hacked into.
- Stealth: Persephone prides herself on being able to get in and out of places with no one the wiser. She is able to remain undetected through a mix of her hacking skills, her ability to blend, and her cyberware.
- Cryptography: Persephone is able to decode and decrypt messages. A handy skill to have when in the business of sharing and selling information.
R E L A T I O N SMr. Smith: For all intents and purposes, he is Persephone's handler or the one that more often than not gives her jobs to do. While Persephone can be hired by anyone, he has established himself to be one of the best and one of the ones that know of Persephone's past enough to slide her jobs that he knows she will take (because it causes havoc for certain bureaucracies.
Vikky Barnes: Probably the closest person Persephone would call a friend. Vikky grew up on the same streets Persephone did, so the two have been around each other a lot. Vikky is a digital artist who is slowly making a name for herself, a fact Persephone isn't too thrilled about.

H I S T O R Y Persephone died. Well, not really, but a part of her did. Born to parents not equipped to raise her, she was left to fend for herself at the young age of five. Having to scrape by how she could, either by stealing or lying, she managed to feed herself almost every day. That is until she stole from Grandma Zhai. The woman caught her, scolded her, scared her, and then provided a home for her to stay in. Unsure of the woman's intentions, Persephone (the name she chose for herself at a later date) went along, but planned to escape at a moment's notice. Grandma Zhai saw raw talent in Persephone, especially regarding technology. Grandma Zhai did all she could to hone those skills, providing lessons and teaching her what she knew. Persephone fought back as she could, but Grandma Zhai never backed down.
She ran with a group of kids in their neighborhood. Often they did small bits of pickpocketing, thefts, vandalism, whatever the situation called for. After all, they were a group of young rebels trying to hurt the system that didn't want them. Grandma Zhai, knowing full well what went on, never said so much as a word to Persephone. She never told her to stop, she never cautioned her. And yet, as time went on, Persephone wanted to please her or to make her proud.
Eventually, the group disbanded, but Persephone needed a way to make money. It was around this time she met Albus. He took an interest in her that made her teenage heart skip several beats. No one took an interest in her ever unless they wanted something. He provided for her, fed her, clothed her, and made her feel special. Grandma Zhai did not approve of the relationship, constantly telling Persephone to leave him before she would not be able to.
And that's when the hurt began.
It started small with words and quickly escalated to fists. Persephone hurt herself more, wondering why she allowed herself to fall so low. She quickly made it out and went back to Grandma Zhai, who offered no "I told you so's" despite how rightly she deserved them.
It clicked for Persephone that injustices like the one she faced, like many others like her face, could not go unpunished. Using the knowledge she learned, she made her first attack against a bureaucracy that had recently been making veiled threats against Grandma Zhai and her store. Sneaking into one of their main facilities, Persephone discovered evidence of money laundering and poisoning people to the point of sickness. Persephone, under the name th0rn_r0se, published the data to the public. Her first hacking.
With a drive to punish others and stand up for those who had no voice, Persephone killed her other life. That girl was dead and Persephone stood in her place. She made a name for herself, took on jobs that she wanted, made few friends and many enemies.

H I S T O R YBundled into a leaky dingy, in the darkest hour of the night, JV could never remember why they left Haiti. His father, only referred to as 'the Pagan' by his mother, was no where to be seen at the time, leaving the two to island hop around the Caribbean and Central America for the next 5 years. Though never revealing how it came to be, his mother only ever told him that it was because JV was cursed. A child, born with no soul, uncapable of being anything other than a pit of emptiness was used by his mother to get across the border in hope of a better life.
Left like garbage on the other side, she abandoned the boy. Leaving an ever lasting imprint on him and the teachings of Voodoo. "The Spirits are the only ones who can grant you salvation boy." Were some of her last words to him.
Living on the streets, he scrounged for survival, stealing and robbing who he could to survive. Practicing his rituals earned him a warped reputation, sacrificing small animals to feed the Loa was normal back in Haiti but in the streets and slums of Seattle, it was alien. Some feared the boy while others outright hated him. Only the Black Prophets understood him. Taking them under their wing, Saint Moses and his ilk honed his skills, encouraged his worship and let him loose on the unbelievers.
Together, the Black Prophets carved a name out for themselves across the city, cementing their territory and converting others to their cause. Though they are at odds with the other gangs, they've taken an interest in robbing the MegaChurch, Heavenly Hosts (H2), who they see as a perversion of their religious ideals. JV has been at the forefront of this, from participating in virtual heists, to robbing their high profile targets.
C Y B E R C O M
Oshun is a goddess connected to rivers, streams, and water. She is associated with beauty and love with her followers often leaving offers to her at river beds. JV doesn't like to think on why he chose her as the avatar for his Cybercom, opting to leave her android unit at home while a digital copy follows him around. A reflection only he can see.
His opposite, she is full of energy, love and wisdom. Programmed to care deeply about those around her and advise on the will of Bondye, God of all, just as all Loa do. Aside from the usual day to day perks of every Cybercom, she is also a therapy program that is trying its best to break through the hardened exterior of JV.

He’d rather play D&D or play video games. Despite spending a lot of his time online, Toby very much lives in a bubble. All he’s learned from using the internet since before he could barely talk were creative ways to say swear words. The injustices of day-to-day life that the working-class face seem like something out of a fantasy story to him. Really, there’s no way it’s THAT bad, right? And everyone totally owns a vacation home, too. He doesn’t understand just how lucky he is to be a netter, as all the rest of his buddies are also spoiled rich kids. Toby isn’t a bully about his wealth, just lacking in self-awareness. He genuinely means no harm to people, even if he does accidentally drop and f-bomb in front of adults and plays stupid practical jokes. He’s a kid. He wants to have fun. In this fast-paced society, he doesn’t seem eager to grow up.

He owns a custom-made, historically accurate set of plate armor made for a Comic-Con two years ago. It is now collecting dust in a display case.
Dentures. It’s not very impressive but seeing that Toby is a twelve-year-old with cleidocranial dysplasia, he’s missing a few of his front teeth. It’s a complete secret that he uses them (well, it’s supposed to be anyway. Sometimes he terrorizes his close friends by chasing them with his teeth). He will receive permanent implants when he’s sixteen if his incisors don’t come in. He’s had several successful surgeries to fix his smile.
Collarbone Implants. Due to his condition, Toby’s collarbones are vestigial, but he’s been outfitted with a brand-new set of them to fix his sloping shoulders about a year ago. While his posture is normal now, he’s a little sad he can't fold his shoulders inwards anymore. It was funny.
S K I L L SArt, storytelling, teamwork, robotics, planning. These are skills Toby has cultivated through his interests. Dungeons & Dragons sparked his love for drawing, writing, and group-coordination. He’s become quite the aspiring Dungeon Master. He’s pretty good at what he does- for a twelve-year-old, at least. Robotics is his newer interest, but it serves him well in this tech-centered society. Tech problems? Ask him. Maybe. He can’t really hack so much as he can tell robots what to do. Of course, Toby is very methodical. Being a DM and a programmer, planning is the name of the game.

Most of his peers didn’t appreciate that. Most of his experiences with social ostracisation were in his elementary years. Sure, people still don’t hang out with him much, but he has his friend group nowadays. His schedule is relatively consistent: school, club, homework (sometimes), D&D/videogames/whatever else children do, and repeat.
Recently, his father has been trying to step in more to guide Toby into learning to be a businessman. He was met with nothing but opposition. C Y B E R C O MKing Talgorthus the Great is a 6’5 dragon-like humanoid that wears a set of heavy-looking armor. His “scales” are a glistening gold color, and sometimes he wears a red cape. Talgorthus is still very much a robot. The striking appearance is due to the fact that he is themed off of Toby’s very own Dungeons & Dragons character, a gold dragonborn fighter. Tal is big and scary for a reason, as he serves as Toby’s bodyguard. He’s equipped with combat and first-aid capabilities- and also a flamethrower in his mouth. He takes better care of Toby than his own father sometimes.

He cares immensely about what's important to him.P E R S O N A L I T YTo those around him, Dolly is a fierce try-hard with a serious Napoleon complex. This is all very true, but he is more than a short guy with too much attitude. Dolly's aggression is very warranted seeing that the world is cruel, and he is trying to make a point of not being an easy target. Throughout his life, he's learned to always be on guard. It's how he survived. He sees most people as a potential threat, and also gets rather insecure around people larger than him since they threaten his authority. He likes to belittle and insult others, but only if he believes he can get away with it. Though he has a hard time swallowing his pride, he will do so for survival. Deep down, he feels an obligation to stick up for the "little guy". They remind him of himself. He has an obsession with proving that he is not weak, even if he physically is. He also has a very difficult time accepting assistance from other people since he worries that it makes him appear more fragile (at least more than he already is).

He does not want to come face-to-face with the reality that people can see he isn't as perfect as he looks. Dolly is very hedonistic. Commitment scares him, but he does yearn for security in both platonic and romantic relationships. Artificial retinal enhancements. Born with albinism, his eyesight was rather poor for many years. Before these enhancements, Dolly's eyes shook from nystagmus, and he was sensitive to light. Now he is able to keep his eyes stable, view bright lights, and even see sharply in dim environments.
Pitch recognition & inner ear protection implants. Being a musical performer, his hearing is a crucial part of what he does. Exposure to loud environments can greatly damage hearing, so these devices protect the inner ear. They are similar in design to cochlear implants, and can be removed at any time for any reason. As an added bonus, they can help recognize the pitch of sounds to those born without absolute pitch.
Vocal Expansion Cords. This device is small and unseen, as it lies beneath the tissue. It is an implant in the larynx that can expand a person’s vocal range. Dolly has one so that he may sing at a soprano pitch without risk of vocal cracks or damage. Although he can shift his voice to almost any pitch at will, he prefers to speak with his “natural” voice.
S K I L L SDolly is a trained vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. He’s most notably seen playing the bass or electric guitar. He knows a thing or two about music theory, too. When does flattery cross into outright manipulation? He isn’t sure. But he’s gotten pretty good at convincing people to give him what he wants.

Leonard Harper, Dolly’s father. He wouldn’t say it, but he’s always been a bit ashamed of his son’s fragility…and career choice. He and Dolly never really saw eye-to-eye, but that was probably because he was never home due to work. He died about 2 years ago from a workplace accident.
Bella Harper is a teacher at Graham Hill. She loves her job, but it really doesn’t pay much. Dolly used to think his mom was the coolest, sweetest lady as a kid. Now he feels conflicted about her, as she was the one primarily coddling him, so much to the point where she homeschooled him herself. He wished she didn’t. They don’t talk much anymore.

Augustine Harper is the eldest sibling at 30 and is the only sister. She moved out of Seattle when in her older 20’s to marry and pursue her career. She had children, meaning Dolly is technically an uncle, but he’s sure he’s only met them once or twice.
Beau Harper is Dolly’s fraternal twin brother. He, unlike Dolly, shows no traits of albinism. He’s the strongest of the two and has always been protective over his brother. The two were close as children but drifted apart from a lack of interests in their teen years. Beau is often mistaken as an older brother. They haven’t spoken to each other since an argument at their father’s funeral.

Hiro Kimura is a tall, tired man that’s 22 years old. To make things short and sweet: he’s a loser. That’s why Dolly likes him. Dolly doesn’t have to act peppy, cute, or upbeat around him- hell, he doesn’t even have to talk. They usually get noodles together once a week. Hiro works as a mechanic. They met in high school.
Buck Anderlow is 23 years old and a fellow musical artist. He and Dolly collaborate often. The public is under the impression that they’re best friends, but they can barely stand each other when left alone in a room together. Dolly thinks he’s annoying, overbearing, and way too open about wanting to sleep with him. He gives Dolly the creeps. Buck actually wants to try and be close to him, but it really isn’t happening.

Shepard Dagenhart is Dolly’s manager and producer. They work for the same record label that Nigel owns. Dolly finds them irritating, as they tend to shut down his creative decisions in favor of doing what’ll make more money.
Nigel Vordaunt is twice Dolly’s age and generally scummy. The two met at the Electric Rose when he was about nineteen, and Nigel offered to sponsor his music career to get him out of there. Their relationship is extremely questionable, and Dolly is visibly afraid of him, but nobody’s bothered to do anything about it. Nigel sees Dolly as a pretty face and an important money-making asset. He’s a cut-throat businessman in the entertainment industry.

H I S T O R YDolly’s history is a smidge complicated. Never at any point in his life was he just a “normal kid”. Born with albinism and a few other health issues, he’s always been a pale and sickly child- especially since his parents couldn’t afford most treatment. They were very protective of him, because why wouldn’t they be? He was a lonely little kid, as he was primarily homeschooled until the age of 11.
He didn’t have the greatest time in middle school, though. He was a poorly socialized, short kid with barely any money. He spent a lot of his time hiding in the band room to avoid becoming a target. This was where he found his love for music- arguably his only source of comfort at this point. He joined the chorus class with enthusiasm.
In high school he was seen less as “that weird scrawny kid” and more of a subject of pity. Unlike his peers, he never hit his growth spurt. This was also around the time he found out that he was very much queer, so it was a rollercoaster and a half to go through. Perpetually infantized and filled with gay angst, he went with his only option: start a band. It was fun and gave his life more structure, but the band split not long after graduation. It was weird. His small friend group pretty much dissipated and ditched music for other careers.
Dolly wanted to continue his musical journey, but that required having money- and any other job required skills. He shrugged, swallowed his pride, and got into various forms of adult entertainment. It was supposed to be a temporary endeavor, but he wasn’t prepared for how cruel the industry could be. Stripped of his dignity (and clothes), he was practically begging to get out when he was found by Nigel Vordaunt.
Nigel found Dolly entertaining. He became a sort of friend to the pretty young man. Maybe it was luck, maybe it was the consequences of his poor actions, but Dolly accepted a sort of sponsorship from him. It was a less-than-legal deal that required Dolly to become a sort of industry plant. He happily signed away the rights of his free time, music, and soul. Somewhere in his heart, Dolly always dreamed of being famous. It felt achievable in that moment, so of course he said yes.

C Y B E R C O MBlossom is an anthropomorphic rabbit-like android given to Dolly by Nigel. She is less “awake” than most other cybercoms, with no real personality other than to do what she is told. She often accompanies Dolly in stage performances and is somewhat of a mascot. She, like her owner, is small. Excluding the ears, she is about 3’2. Dolly doesn’t seem to like her much. Still, she follows him almost everywhere.
