Silversage is the region's crossroad city. It stands at the northern end of the river valley that provides the easiest path into Fanewick; to the west stretches the road that leads to the coast; to the north, the main road into Haven. Not many people head
to Silversage, but many go
through--and between that and the fertile land surrounding the city walls, the people have done well for themselves.
It's known for its people's hospitality, and for being as diverse and cosmopolitan as the capital itself, but what many don't know is that because of its proximity to the border, there is also a larger-than-average guard garrison.
The city gets its name from the fragrant herb that grows on the riverbanks. When the river was split--a massive feat of engineering long out of living memory--the residents of the city were happy to find that twice as many riverbanks ended up producing twice as much silversage.
