I may be interested in this. I've been reading up info in the link you posted and I think I've got an idea for a character. I'm thinking of a mechanic though not fully set on that just yet.

Bio:
Alexis grew up as the only child of a single father, who served several years and a mechanic in the Hegemony Fleet. He managed to get a posting on a fleet space station doing repairs on ships and the space station itself. Much of her childhood was spent on the space station with few other children and little supervision outside of what passed for a school on a military instalation. It was not long before she started getting into areas she was not supposed to be in, and taking things that she was clearly not supposed to have.

By the time she was 18, Alexis had learned how to fix some small odds and ends, as well as procuring items or information, trying to earn extra money to help out her father. Around this time her father had started to ask when she might plan to join the Hegemony Fleet. Alexis told him she was not interested in joining and that she was considering joining a ship crew that frequently stopped at the space station to deliver supplies. Initially he was reluctant to the ideals of her joining up with a private crew, and only relented when he realized how set she was on pursuing her own way in life.

Alexis stayed with that ship for four years, honing her abilities in rigging quick fixes for the ship, full on repairs, and hacking into networks to find, and sometimes alter, information. During this time she met Stev in-between jobs the crew was running. He introduced Alexis to various gambling games as well as a few substances that help take the edge off from traveling space for months at a time. Their relationship was on and off for many months, with the final straw being when Stev was trying to get some money from her to cover a recently accrued debt while also cheating on her. Having decided that she wanted to get as far away from him as possible, she signed on with a new crew led by Nissa.

The work was much the same as before, though some jobs were riskier than before. During one such job a silent alarm had tripped and locked Alexis out of the computer system and kept the crew from completing the job. She wasn't sure how it had happened and had her suspicions that someone was trying to set them up. Nissa blamed her for tripping the alarm while trying to hack one of the terminals and refused to listen to any explanation. She also demanded that Alexis pay for the expenses incurred from the failed job. Alexis refused stating the job was a most likely a set up. Nissa cut Alexis from the crew leaving her behind to figure out her own way.

Now she is looking for work with whatever crew or job that will pay.
