Also also had a thought that while we don't have Ragatha, I thought it might be funny that everyone knows who that is but Caine keeps pretending like she doesn't exist. No one knows where she is. If someone ends up playing her, they can make up a story for that

I don't mind to take her over at some point, but especially for this first adventure it's nice if she is out. I was gonna try to lean into that.

Also, yes, I am a cook. This character has a bit of me baked into them, I was working at some high end dining for about 4 years.

I did not, though I've debated it for a long time. The culinary school in town isn't great and a lot of people told me it's better to just learn on the job.

Most of the fancy stuff is French style. Right now I work in a retirement home though, because my last job made me want to shrivel up. That one was run by a chef from equator so I had a lot more latin stylings to it.

I wouldn't say it's fun, per say, but it's significantly more relaxed. I've gone from cooking wagyu and roasting whole pigs to making mash potatoes and beef tips. We take a consensus from the community every month and they tell us what they want so occasionally we do. It's so much more corporatized so we have a lot less control over the food. The lack of salt really gets to me but hey, it's nice to know my food and effort is helping. They've said they've gotten more enthusiastic about the food as I've worked there, and I can tell the difference in the meals.

Sorry, this is totally off topic haha. THank you for taking such an interest in my work! May I ask what you do?

I will also need that luck, considering most other things I'm writing atm are in past tense LOL.

Also! I think I've figured out a way to write three characters w/o losing my sanity. it's a good opportunity to stretch my third-person omniscient muscles, which is great bc I'm p sure I almost always default to limited third-person and Idk how to break out of it 😔 (I'm p sure my post is exactly this but oh well. I'll try again next time.)

I don't mind to take her over at some point, but especially for this first adventure it's nice if she is out.

also it's so cool that you actually get to see the impact your cooking has on people! :O they be getting that five-star retirement life

@Birdboy No need to apologize! Imo the OOC thread is as much for chatting as it is for planning. I love hearing about what people on here do outside of roleplaying! It’s so awesome that having you in the kitchen is improving the quality of life for the residents. That’s really special!

I’m a music therapist but this semester I’m taking a pause on that in an attempt to create a new program. In the meantime I’m homeschooling and I tutor on the side 😁

@Stanifly I really love what you did with your post! That’s an awesome idea that I may steal while I have Caine haha. Omniscient is great but I feel like even with third-person limited, your post paints a good picture!!

And I didn’t choose the title with the intention to be a reference; it just was what I came up with and I couldn’t think of something more original 😅 I also completely forgot about the AJR song! I keep hearing young Ellie from Up when I read it lol

Woah that's super cool. I've been looking into alternative routes for therapy besides talk therapy so cool to see there are people out there doing it. Sounds liek you got a very big brain over there!

@silver21 aww sweet, I'm glad it works. I figure I'll probably only push the limited perspective to omniscient when the other 2 r doing smtg Character Important that Clover isn't seeing or when they r separated.

God... feels like a blasphemy to put my deteriorating text speech in forum posts. but when you're working nearly entirely off ur phone, habits are hard to kick 😔

My thoughts exactly. I know caine like absolutely craves everyone enjoying his missions but with a larger cast I feel like he might be more lenient on people occasionally sitting one out.

"If it's ok, can I skip this one? Me and blank were going to check out the lake"

"Caine, I NEED to sleep"

Stuff like that, where the characters aren't harping on the adventure or consistently refusing might slide more for Caine than just outright denying it, especially if everyone else is on board. Or maybe he gives them an in house adventure or other situation we just don't focus on, etc. I know Caine is actively overbearing and might not get that in canon, but for our sakes, it would make sense if we occasionally got to skip one or two adventures.

yep agreed Idt Caine would be as pushy w more ppl + between Patch and Jax he's spoiled with a grand total of TWO humans who looooove his adventures!! (in his eyes anw LOL)
