Open to more folk, so apply if you like in direct message to me or the ooc. Ask ALL questions. This rp will mostly cover thwarting the rise of an old evil in the trade city of ryken
Time: late morning
Weather: warm and clear
Mentions:
TLDR: party is psychically summoned to a run down warehouse where an injured nun of an ancient order is the last thing holding back a horde of monsters and pleads for the party's aid
music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_LktJ14Kg8

Ryken continued to recover from the earthquake that had shaken the continent a month prior. Damaged buildings had been repaired, trade had resumed, and the riverfront remained as busy as ever. Barges moved along the water while laborers hauled cargo between warehouses and merchants conducted business beneath the summer sun.

Each member of the party received the same telepathic message.

"Please, I need your help. River warehouses. Follow the flame."

The sensation lingered only long enough to provide a direction before fading. The source led toward an older section of the waterfront where several warehouses still bore signs of earthquake damage. One of them had been abandoned after part of its structure collapsed. Temporary barriers had been placed around it, but nothing prevented entry.

Inside, a damaged stairway descended into a lower level. The basement itself appeared older than the warehouse above it, with portions of ancient stonework exposed where walls had collapsed. Faint carvings covered some of the stone surfaces and a large glowing seal had been carved directly into the floor near the center of the chamber.

A woman in red and gold vestments stood beside it. Blood stained part of her robes and burn marks covered one arm. One hand remained pressed against the seal while streams of orange light flowed from her palm into the damaged construct.

Several yards away, a large fissure split the floor open. The crack descended into darkness beyond the reach of the chamber's light. The woman looked toward the arriving group.

"Thank you for coming. My name is Sister Valeria Embermantle of the Church of Sacred Flame."

A scraping sound echoed from somewhere below the fissure.

"My order was entrusted with maintaining the seals to hold back a great evil. The earthquake damaged them and something below exploited the weakness. Creatures are making their way upward through passages connected to deeper ruins. I cannot hold them back myself any longer."

Another scraping sound followed the first, slightly louder than before.

"I have concealed this location from those on the surface and can continue doing so for now. I can also assist in restoring damaged seals. I have already exhausted most of my strength keeping this breach contained, so I plead that you pick up the fight for now."

Valeria removed her hand from the seal for a moment and several cracks of orange light immediately spread across its surface before she pressed her hand back against it.

"If these creatures reach the warehouses above us, they will reach the city shortly after. We must stop that from happening at all costs."

The sounds below continued. Stone shifted somewhere within the darkness and small fragments of rock tumbled into the fissure.

"You have a few moments before the first of them arrive. Ask your questions, make your preparations, or choose your fate now."

REVERENT PRIESTESS OF THE ORDER OF THE FIVE DIVINE ORDEALS,
SERVANT OF THE HOLY GOD SHEEGIGRO

NYANA ZULGRIM

If you could please imagine, Zulgrim radiated happiness. An exotic kind.

The high priestess had an infinite sour wealth to her. Created from divine exposure. A mindset so painfully indestructible that she’d rather have someone spit on her than show her pity. With her peppery smile always showing it might’ve been a sign of some sort of malfunction, nobody was ever this comfortable.

A gleeful yet predatory tone came out of the young fae. Looking up and down at the flesh she was speaking to. The creatures name was Sister Valeria. Bowing respectfully towards the meat that she stood upon. “Before we converse, I say that I admire what you are. The memories you hold, the form that shapes you so very tightly. You are beautiful!” She preached with confidence, almost losing control and ranting into prayer.

The pitter patter that surrounded the priestess were equally delighted. They showed no signs of worry. Not even a little bit of fear in the situation, just purity. A mixture of [First Order x5] footsoldiers and [Siren Sisters x5] robed uniformly in pure white. Their smirks never let up either, a passionate influence behind their fabricated eyes as they spoke. One by one they connected their minds. [Telepathy E] “ I understand that you wish for the seals to maintain.” A siren sister stated outloud.

Nyana stayed silent, allowing her hive to speak her intentions. Then another siren spoke out, their tone never changing from delightful. “But do you have a back up plan when these monsters manage to breakthrough into the city?” At first glance they all seemed completely normal, however they were too perfect. Unmatched beauty was one thing but when not a single mark on their skin is seen on baby smooth bodies? One would think that they were too heavenly, like a divine whisper that painted reality.

A gift that could only be attained from their Holy God Sheegigro. The small army did everything but prepare for battle. They browsed and wandered about uninterestedly. They were either highly competent or simply did not care this plan of Sister Valeria. Some of the footsoldiers were already staring upstairs from where they came from to take the fight into the streets, wondering how many innocent humans were enjoying their day at the docks? How quickly would the color of the roads outside would change with mass bloodshed? How happy would it be?

OOC: Not sure if there will be beasts to summon in the warehouse, so I figured I'd preemptively try to dual summon some things before going there. Totally fine if there isn't anything available.

A psychic summons while meditating? Sorting himself out quickly, Zeldrin assumed that he would need to call the aid of something quickly and make his way there since he wasn't sure that there would be anything nearby. [Double Summon Random (Flux)] Accepting whatever aid came his way, he arrived to learn all of the things that he needed to.

"When you say creatures, do you have a better description that we can go on? I'm reliant on other things fighting for me, and this is a pretty isolated area if you know what I mean." His words weren't filled with fear that one should have, but more of a genuine curiosity about what they were about to do. At least one person came with an entourage, which was something that he would have to work on at some point.

Although, the group was talking in a weird way in his opinion, but they brought up a good point. "I think if they get by us then any plan that is in place will not be our concern as we'll have been eliminated prior to that," pointed out the kender while sizing up the room. There was plenty of stone, so at least he had that to work with when calling upon his newest friend.

Astra had been walking the streets pitching in with her superstrength here and there to aid in removal of the rubble from the recent quake... it was a lovely day, but did not seem she would find a fight today... which made it less than perfect but still ~ the sun was shining and people were grateful for her help which she gave with no hesitation.

Then the mental message came to her mind... telepathy she thought it was called. There were few with such talent back on Earth... but it must be something of the norm of strangeness in this Realm of the 2nd Continent. But the message was a plea for help... 'A Fight possibly...' and that made Astra's day Even better!

Utilizing her superspeed [Fast] she dashed through the markets and streets at twice the speed any human should be able to move... but she was not wholly human... she was a hybrid half-human, half-alien warrior race Viltrumite. But none of this world knew of outer space not that Viltrum even existed in this dimension of contradictions. Her world she fled through the LevyGate her father had build when the Hybrid Viltrum-humans all revolted against the Galacy conquering warrior race of supermen. A choice that had spelled doom for her earth when the might of the Viltrum Empire judged them and brought its unyielding might down on Earth. The order Extermination... Complete and total. Astra had only escaped because her mother pushed her through the LevyGate before the artificial gate closed... trapping Astra here and forever sealing her world beyond her reach.

Astra had tried to make the best of it but somedays... it really depressed her. She had been a Superhero on Earth, so helping people here came as second nature...and throwing herself into battle against the wicked quieted her own grief with the exhilaration of Triumph in battle against those in need of a beat down. It was cathartic.

With a rush of air a... very oddly dressed young woman entered the basement ruin...

Fast F

She looked about instantly regarding the fissure in the floor.. her Heightened Sense of Hearing and her Supersences of Echolocation told her some things ... not human were approaching from below.

There was no fear in her soft voice only ... cold certainty... "Someone called for help. I am Astra. I will assist. Some... things, sounding very unfriendly approach from below... I will engage them."

With those simple words, she moved into action ... and move she did.. with single step that seemed to carry - slide her across to the fissure she entered without hesitation jaw set grimly... a slight smile on her pretty features ~ eagar for battle...!!

She wore no obvious armor, and bore no obvious weapons... !

Fast F, Flight F 'no altitude ~ just movement to enter the fissure'

Note: Astra has Resilient [Physical]-Full {B/P/S} E ~ her foes will have to inflict more than 8 points of damage to even do a single point to her. She also has Regeneration F

Forests were certainly not a landscape that McCoy was used to, having lived in the arid desert for all his life, but he wasn’t fully ignorant of it. The lawman was kneeling beside a tree, searching for something of which he wasn’t fully aware when the message came directly into his mind. His expression hardened even further; smoke from his last rolled-up cigarette left the corner of his lips. Raising to his feet, he began following the source of the voice.

When he reached the waterfront, filled with warehouses showing cracks in their walls, his eyes widened slightly. “What the hell happened here?” He had no one to ask about it, but he spent a moment longer investigating the surroundings, looking for clues to what had happened. “An earthquake, huh?” He muttered under his breath as he kept following the source of the voice.

Each step he took down the stairs was followed by the sound of his boots hitting the floor and the clinking of the spurs. McCoy could barely reach the bottom of the stairs when he saw a blur disappearing as it appeared. “Heh, strange things happenin’ ‘round here. But I guess it is the norm.” A humorless chuckle left his lips.

There was already a gathered bunch, too many women, or, better said, girls with pointed ears. The whole situation made him even more cautious. “I hope the ‘help’ isn’t you needin’ a babysitter or somethin’ to look after them.” He motioned with his chin towards the group, taking another long drag of his cigarette.

“So you are needin’ us to hold whatever is comin’ through that there fissure.” The lawman threw his cigarette towards the ground, stepping on it to kill off the flame with a crunch. “And here I thought that the siege of the Alamo was the last place I had to defend after leavin’ the army.” With a deliberate slowness, he took out his six-shooter from the holster with his right hand, tipping his hat upward with his left one. “No question from me, sister.”

After the numerous amount of quests she's been on, Taotie saw fit to relax for a couple of days instead of following those fools on whatever dangerous excursions they were eager to throw themselves into. Besides she had much better things to do anyways with one of them being finally attaining a proper form for herself that wasn't the stupid staff that she was turned into once she entered the world.

Gone was the ancient looking wooden staff that many adventurers swore was cursed and in it's place stood a two foot tall purple haired woman with a magical set of wings on her back. She looked down to get a good look at her new appearance alongside the black dress she was now wearing that was a little more intricate than she was expecting, not that she minded of course. Unfortunately good things couldn't last forever it seemed as a telepathic call ran through her head.

"Great, first there was all those earthquakes shaking up the whole place and now I'm the one with a mysterious voice ringing in her head. I don't know if this is supposed to be a joke or something but worse comes to worse I could always shoot whoever had the bright idea of prank calling me..." Taotie muttered to herself as she flew herself on over to the river warehouse while keeping out of sight among the dilapidated buildings that surrounded the place.

Upon arriving there, Taotie would be quick to see the sizeable gathering that was taking place there alongside parts of the conversation that were taking place at the moment. Her eyebrow raised upon seeing a familiar face in Astra but she wouldn't comment on anything just yet due to this entire ordeal looking rather shifty. The blonde fae in particular was giving her the creeps, which was ironic given her current appearance, but Taotie knew that she couldn't hide around forever either as she appeared at last before the group with apprehension. At the very least the danger of the broken seal was rather obvious and in plain sight although that didn't mean Taotie was looking to risk her neck in this mess for free. "A demonic invasion huh? I don't know whether to be annoyed more about the fact that someone thought it was a good idea to build a city over some ancient seal or that you decided to enter my mind unsolicited but I guess I could overlook such things if you got a reward in mind for putting me through all this trouble." She spoke accusatively towards Valeria.
