Plus, the grenade was already in his hand, and he was already prepared for this move, which should significantly decrease the time it took.

He was already aiming at her, and it takes significantly less time to move your arm then run across a room.Exploding the grenade was instantaneous on entering the pipe, which is also when your character began to run, so unimportant.Transforming the grenade is nearly instantaneous, throwing a grenade takes a minuscule amount of time, my character calculated your movements on the run and threw to where you ended up, I'm not really sure where your character had time to stop and observe to the point where she knew his grenade was being prepared, and I especially don't know how she finished her run, and then fired a crossbow, before the grenade was anywhere near her.

I never said she ran across the room...

Turning and shooting wouldn't take much time for someone who can dodge automatic fire and throwing something is pretty obvious, plus her auto-targeting works at the speed of thought.

You said you ran to the Clockwork Man's left, he was facing your characters original position, to reach his left you would have to run half way across the room.

----------------Your characters position
-------Clockwork Man

--new position
-------Clockwork Man

With all the - being generic distance markers.

Nevermind though, I'm not going to tell you what your character can't do, and my grenade can just float around your attack regardless.

Indeed, I never said I was beyond the grenades range anyway. Or that it would not effect me at least.

This is why you shouldn't pull pillars out of no-where with no textual information or history, I get to make it up and murder you for it.

Good luck getting outta this one Khan my boy!

As much as I like the fact that your character pulled the old 'I didn't miss' card, you probably should have stated that was what she was aiming at (as I see no reason why his position would have made that shot likely) beforehand. Instead, you've completely contradicted what I stated happened to the bolt in my post, which was that it melted through a pillar and then dissipated against the wall.

Also, it might be a good time for your character to call it quits and run away, she's at least semi-succeeded and honestly there's no logical way your character can survive the ensuing bullets from the Clockwork Man in the next post after just being concussed on a pillar.

I was going to say something about you taking control of where it hit, but didn't bother probably should have though, and there were subtle hints of what she was planning. Those hints always fly over your head. :P

Also I thought me leaving was clear that I was leaving...?

Also there still this other idea I wanted to swing by you before this finished.

You only described the damage it would do to the Clockwork Man, not anything else, I couldn't really just leave it floating around in my post.

Feel free to swing the idea by. As Skallagrim is so intent on having rivalry's form from conflict I was thinking last night that one of the Mystan's captured could be the little girl the Clockwork Man escorted earlier on, that would ensure he pursued your forces.

Were those last two paragraphs there when I made my post? I swear I didn't see them.

That's why I never said anything about it, I never considered you saying what it would hit, it was my fault for assuming it would be forgotten. This keeps reminding me of the sentient skeletal hands.

My idea was that the old Mystan dude would be captured, leaving clockman to follow them, and thus hopefully leading to him learning the real reason they needed a technomancer. Which would also lead to them finding out they have a common enemy.

Still remains to be seen if and how that would happen, this is very different then a normal story one would collab since you can't really plan for how these events (fights) will end.

I like how he just assumes she left.

Well, if she escaped using her OP invulnerable state then there was no way for him to know when she left or whatever, but I never specified how long he stood with his pistol at the ready, before deciding the safety of the entire town was more important than remaining alert for a foe who had done a pretty crappy job at hurting him anyway. (from his perspective.)

Khan, you going to post giving me anything to work with? Or should I just patch up my broken space ship and fly into you, like I planned.

Was probably going to post in Perdo Wastes to work on some filler post. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

It's quite hard to get the Clockwork Man to 'chat'. He doesn't volunteer much out of his own volition.

It's even harder to get Shenestra to stop and chat without breaking character.

You know, Arty and the Clockwork Man are similar in a lot of ways. I hope things work out so they can be allies at least, they'd make a good pair.

Yup. Both can't feel normal emotions, both use high-tech pseudo-muscles, and both can self repair.
