Hider Shenanigans

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't
I have one post in which the first eleven work fine, then the other twenty or so don't.
Also we seem unable to put hiders within hiders.

Hiders (and quotes) not nesting is a known issue caused by the code stuff for it being very simple and in need of upgrades.

Dunno what's up with some hiders in a post working and others not, that's a new one I think. Can you link the thread so Mahz can see what you're talking about, or maybe a regular user could possible take a look and figure it out?

There's is a slight knack to nestling hiders:

A [+]


[h ider=A][hid er2=B]test[/h ider2][/hid er]

Obviously remove spaces.

Right ok thanks Jorick. And I am as regular of a user as they come
Genuinely cannot spot the problem after considerable time looking.

Problem resolved, the issue was rather strange. Spotted that the very first hider had a H instead of a h. Changed this and the others all started working.
A very strange quirk indeed for a functioning hider to break other ones, seemingly at random seeing as how those in between were fine.

Probably but we forget Mahz' master plan.

Since nesting doesn't work, my Quote code only quotes the text that isn't wrapped in anything (top-level text).

The side-effect is that it also doesn't quote simple things like bold and italicized text.

But maybe we'll get people to stop using BBCode and just write.

Yeah, for sure. It's just hard to devote a day to BBCode when there are other things to do.

Is this the same reason that sometimes the BBCode won't copy/paste correctly? I copied my Spam Hunger Games info directly and pasted it into http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/4425/posts/oocTabletop[/hider] and the hiders decided they didn't want to work anymore

I thought I would be one of 'those people' who post without looking first. But no need to make a separate thread..

Screw it. I can't get it to work. Basically, everthing was coded right. It just looked like someone put noparse codes around it. Bold and Italics worked. But the Hiders were a mess.
