Scenario #6

Between classes, Jacob decided to get some fresh air and kill some time, and as such he took a little walk. As he was going around, he noticed one of the people who was in the class he'd just had talking to one of the people present last night. In fact, it was the girl he'd healed, the one who'd been impaled by a spear of ice. Remembering the bloody scene, he shook his head a little and shuddered. Moving over to them, he greeted the two. "Heya there. Fancy meeting you here." He offered a smile and took note of the little well of dark magic Jade was making in her hand. "Ahhh, dark magic, huh? Damn, I been a Wanderer all my life and there's still so much I'm not used to. Spent too long around humans to get accustomed to the whole 'special powers' deal."

Shrugging, he waved his hand. "Well, that's why I'm here, I guess. How ya holdin' up after that boring-ass lecture?" This question was directed at Aphrodite, who was probably the first out of Aspen's classroom just a few minutes before.

"Not exactly, I'm a psion." Aphrodite imitates Jade and creates a telekinetic orb from the palm of her hand.

"Dark magic is somewhat similar but a lot more malleable than telekinesis."

Aphrodite tries to make the orb visible for her and Jade to see but only a flicker of aura emits from her palm before fading away.

"See what I mean?"

Jade watched in amazement as she saw the flickering orb in Aphrodite's hand. "I feel like once I get a better understanding of dark magic I'll be able to use it... At least somewhat defend myself with it ya know." She looked away for a second when she felt someone approaching. It was the boy she tried to help last night, but he ended up helping her. "Hey." She smiled at him and listened to him speak, nodding a little and looking back down at her hands, letting little orbs float up from them. "Yeah I'm as sheltered as you can get, and my parents told me this was a curse." She shrugged nonchalantly and kept going, "they told me to focus on the whole water bending stuff... And flying because I sucked at it at the time."

Jacob nodded at Jade's reply. His parents weren't that intense about the idea of his powers, but he understood that Dark Magic was pretty creepy, and among the more superstitious, it could be easily seen as a curse. "Damn. My parents were pretty cool with me practicing my powers, just as long as nobody noticed. They didn't want us to end up on some national registry, especially because they were afraid of something like that NATSEC business happening. A little too late for me now, though. Ain't hard to get a hold of somebody's name in the registry here. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some records back with the Army, either. I kinda got kicked out 'cause I healed a guy on a botched op. Turns out the military is generally anti-Wanderer."

Rubbing the back of his head, he forced a smile and chuckled a bit. "Ah, oh well. What's done is done. As for me, I'm white magic and telepathy. Can't to anything like making force fields or flying or nothing. But it's useful in it's own right, don't get me wrong. Saved myself a lotta trouble last night. Probably would've been covered in burns if I couldn't heal myself up like that."

Aphrodite finally gives the guy some attention when he brings up the incident from last night.

"So you were there as well? How did you guys manage to get out?"

"Last night was an emberrassment for me I promise I'm not that vulnerable. I can kick ass." Jade looked back at Aphrodite and bit her lip for a second, actually thinking back. "I got healed because this dude nearly killed me. When I woke up the guardians were there and I flew out."

"Yeah, I was there. I'm not sure, I think that guy with the fire either got a little cocky or figured he'd take care of me when he was finished with the others. Gotta admit, that weird web of flames probably woulda killed me if I weren't a white magic guy." He shrugged a little. He really had gotten lucky last night, though. "I'm really not used to fighting other Wanderers...used to regular people." As a sigh escaped his lips, he looked away for a second, refocusing his thoughts. "Anyway, yeah, last night...basically, I got lucky. If they had all decided to fight, I wouldn't have stood a chance. Shows me to get big-headed, huh?"

Scenario #7

Avery could not find her headband. She had been using it the previous night, but it must have fallen off part way through her aimless wandering. It didn't help that she had no recollection of what path she took. Her next lesson was in an hour or so, but she had to find it before then. Some parts of Avery hoped that someone from one of her classes had picked it up and waited to give it to her, but as of her first two classes of the day no one had done so.

Despite Carolyn's directions Avery took at least another half-hour to get back to her dorm. She couldn't remember any of the instructions, except that she had to do something at some painting of Minerva. Whoever that was.

She considered taking a look outside as she approached the doorway to the gardens, but decided against it. There were far too many people, and she ran the risk of being unintended target practice.

Avery approached a flight of stairs and scanned every step, rubbing her temples in frustration. She turned around and looked back at the hall behind her, watching the students rush in and out of various rooms. At least she wasn't bored, Avery supposed as she fiddles with the cuffs on her jacket. Looking for this stupid headband gave her something to do. If she wasn't looking for it, she'd be sitting in her room, staring at blank walls.

Keeping the thought in her mind, Avery hesitantly started to walk up the stairs, pushing a clump of blonde hairs out of her face. She really needed that headband.

Scenario #7

Kitchen duty was done. Not that it really bothered Cancer, as doing something, anything, was better than nothing. After leaving the kitchens, he started to wander. Did he have a class soon? More than likely. Was he lost? No. His damned random bursts of short-term long-term memory loss is of course to blame.

As he walked aimlessly throughout the halls, he came across a black headband. Cancer picked it up and placed it on his head, making it rest right on top of his helmet. He did not want to use it the way it was intended, as he would permanently stretch it out.

He ran throughout the Academy's halls, taking random turns onto random hallways, until he came across a large spiraling staircase. He suddenly changed pace and slowly went down the stairs, the headband bobbing up and down with each step, miraculously staying on top of his helmet every time. He passed a blonde-headed girl on the way down, and noted how ridiculously tall she was..

This'll take forever, Avery thought to herself, slumping up each step of the staircase. She was around halfway up when her headband came into view. At least she thought it was hers. It looked like hers. It wasn't on the ground like she had presumed it to be, it was on the helmet of a masked man that crossed her path.

"Um, excuse me," she said quietly, raising a finger to point at the out-of-place accessory on the man's head, "I think that's mine?"

He blinked behind the helmet, grabbed the headband off his head, stared at it for a moment, and put it gingerly onto Avery's raised finger, patting the headband gently as if it were a pet.

"..Sure! All yours", Cancer said, without having any real clue whether or not it really was hers. There was a moment of awkward silence and awkward staring, especially since Cancer's helmet looked like a comically happy, grinning skull. He raised an index finger as if he were about to say something, but then put his hand down.

Avery pushed the headband atop her head and tucked it behind her ears, satisfied that it was back where it belonged. She fiddled with her dishevelled bun and smiled to herself, poking at bits of stray hair here and there.

"Can I ask where you found it?" She inquired, plainly curious as to where she dropped it. The man before her was peculiar, and impossible to read behind the skull-shaped mask. Avery hadn't seen him around before, probably because their classes didn't intersect and it wasn't often that she walked around this part of the Academy.

Aphrodite nods after hearing most of what she wanted to hear. "Well let this be a lesson guys, you need to know what you're dealing with before you jump in trying to be hero. Could have been a lot worse. Well I need to do a little shopping before the day is over, I'll see you guys around. Jade work on that dark magic, you could try to ask Ivy, it's a long shot but she might help you out. See you in class tomorrow Jacob!"

With that Aphrodite takes flight and darts off towards downtown Ceteris.

"The painting of... Oh god what's her name.. Minerva? I don't know, it's pretty easy to get lost in here, isn't it?"

"All these fuckin' hallways and no kiosks or maps like at the grandiose shopping centers where it explicitly tells you 'You are here! Conveniently located adjacent to the shop selling extremely fattening cinnamon buns the size of your fist' ", Cancer rambled pointing at an invisible map. He put his hands on his hips.

"But at least you got your headband back. Day made!"

Jade smiled at Aphrodite and nodded before waving at her. "Have fun!" She stood there for a second before realizing she didn't really had much to say, and the fact that the boy had been one of the people that helped her the night before made her stomach churn. She didn't want to think of it so she turned to the boy and smiled at him, "I'm gonna go too. I was going to practice, but I'm hungry and some hot pockets are calling me from my room. I'll see you around." She waved at him before picking up her backpack and shrugging it on, then making her way into one of the nearest buildings.

Scenario 7

As Jade walked through the hallways, she finished what was left of her hot pocket, humming a song quietly. "Dude sweet helmet..." She muttered, pointing at a guy talking to one of the girls she had seen before. "Sorry I totally just interrupted y'all." She smiled apologetically before taking the last bite and throwing the plastic in a trash.

As much as he was berating himself for getting cocky last night, hearing someone else say it hit hard. But really, she was right. If he hadn't tried to play hero, he wouldn't have risked getting killed. Still, what could he have done? It would have taken far too long for the cops to show up, and if he had to take a beating, or even get himself seriously hurt, to help somebody else he'd do it in a heartbeat. It was just the kind of person he was. Well, he probably should have tried to at least figure out what was up with those guys instead of assuming they were regular humans. Shrugging as both girls left, he chuckled at Jade's mention of hot pockets, and headed off to the dorms while mumbling to himself. "Hot pockets...damn, I think I'd rather have an MRE. These kids are tougher than they look sometimes..."

"You're just kind of assumed to know where you're going, right?" She related, pleased to know that there was someone else who shared the annoyance she held for the campus.

She wasn't too particularly keen on talking to anyone else at this point, so she thanked the man and offered a smile, which probably looked more like the sides of her mouth were being pulled outwards rather than a kind gesture.

"Anyway, I'd better head off," Avery swivelled on her heels but in doing so, the toe of her boot caught on the edge of the step above her and she toppled forwards, landing on her hands and knees. She stayed in that position and sighed, mentally beating herself up for looking like such a fool. "Actually, I am going to sit here for a bit," the blonde let out a small laugh and turned herself over, folding her hands in her lap.

Scenario 7

He heard a girl nearby talk about his helmet, and turned his head towards her. "FUCK YEAH it is!", he called, giving the Jade an obscene gesture with his finger.

Cancer turned his head back to face Avery. "Ha! No. I get lost all the time. I get detention all the time because I'm always so late."

He watched her stumble clumsily on the stairs as she tried to make her exit. "Right there? On the stairs? It's dirty though, isn't it? What with everyone shuffling about and chewing gum stuck on the bottom of their soles?", he said, holding out his left hand to help the girl up.

"You make a point," Avery admitted, patting her knees. She hesitantly reached out with her right hand before quickly switching it with her left and letting it dangle to the side. She took up Cancer's own and pulled herself to her feet.

Avery tossed up whether she should introduce herself or actually leave this time, and decided on the former. It would probably be a bit impolite of her not to do so. "Uh, I'm Avery, by the way," she rushed out, her gaze adverted to the stair rail as she had difficulty keeping a straight face at the man while he wore that helmet. It was, a bit silly after all.

Cancer pointed to himself with his free hand using his thumb and let go of Avery after she got up.

"Cancer. Pleased to meetcha!"
