@Parfex Well you created the newspaper writer, you can learn about Dissonance and her powers from him, realize that your powers are similar, and thinking she gained her powers like you, take it upon yourself to track her down and stop her since she's a villain. This leads to the first fight between the two of you and the start of the rivalry.

If Vega decides that he wants to remain a hero. lol
Impulse was a hero and Impulse got his mom killed. This tale is a darker one.
Adrian as Impulse was optimistic and ignorant about the consequences that come with stopping villains.
After the death of his mom, he only cares about one thing. This jaded and bitter outlook on life has tipped Adrian's alignment more towards neutral. His interactions with the other characters could turn him more jaded or could talk some sense into him and renew his heroic tendencies.
Either way, Adrian is going to become Vega and develop his new ability and Impulse will be left in the past.

After some time passes and Vega has a costume and some combat sense, I wouldn't mind allowing Vega to suffer from crippling hopelessness and depression. He may come out of the shadows and take his frustration and anguish out on the city. If this sounds interesting, I think that this would be a good time for Sea Snake and Vega to meet and have an epic battle. At the end, Sea Snakes' youthful/optimistic attitude could win back Vega onto the right side, or at least knock some sense into him and remind him what it means to be a hero. ;)

@Parfex Then if he becomes a villain it's much easier to start the rivalry. You learn that Dissonance has powers similar to yours and you want to prove that you're better than her. Boom, done. That should cover everything right there to keep us from having to use alternate universes.

I just haven't been too available the last few nights. I plan on building up STRIKE, Shayd the Indestrucable Man, as well as sidelining Sea Snake and introducing a new hero. Should have all that in the can within a couple posts by Thursday. I'd work on it now but I've gotta be at work in an hour...

Okay, so I've decided STRIKE will be forming a superteam to deal with a specific threat. Ever play Injustice? Basically tragedy falls on Superman and makes him the badguy. It'll be a similar situation with a paragon of a hero falling from grace and needing to be neutralized. STRIKE will put a team together of heroes and a villain or two who can be bought to take him down.

So if anybody wants in on that bit of story development let me know! Gonna start another iCheck tonight to try and get a couple more players/heroes since we're mostly villains and walking the line folks...

It'll be a similar situation with a paragon of a hero falling from grace and needing to be neutralized. STRIKE will put a team together of heroes and a villain or two who can be bought to take him down.

So if anybody wants in on that bit of story development let me know! Gonna start another iCheck tonight to try and get a couple more players/heroes since we're mostly villains and walking the line folks...

Yeah the team in my head is looking good so far. @rocketrobie2 said he was game for Chok-Lad being manipulated into joining the squad. Originally I had planned on this Liberty Son guy looking like the WWII era Superpatriot from Image Comics. But there's literally only one decent image of him online so rather than make him hokey and with a cape it's gonna go from hero mode, to darkness and creep factor with similar elements...

As a hero: Liberty Son

No problem. Since Vega just dropped off, I was wondering if you'd like to script sometime?
I know you and Gunrat @Jotunn Draugr have a duel RP (and I totally don't want to get in the way of that) but since he's trying to catch you, I thought it might be fun of Vega to kill a zombie or two, finds your actual ghoul character and then blasts her deep into the city, thinking that killed her. Gunrat then can come around the corner asking if I saw which way you went or something and get pissed that Vega is the reason you got away. Lol
