Jun looked around, headphones on ears but no music playing. She was sitting on the floor with her back pressed against the wall and a book in her lap. Her hair made a curtain between the people and herself, so it was easy to watch them go about their daily lives like she didn't exist. Stories ran inside her head about what their lives were like outside of school. She made up hardships that would make her own look like nothing. It made her feel a little better if she imagined people had it a little worse than her. She knew that was a terrible thing to think, but after coming home last night to her father passed out on the floor she was pretty much done with her life. He didn't have money to pay the collectors, but he could spend it on alcohol no problem. It made her stomach turn with knots.

Today though, her eyes fell on the classmate known as Kento. She had watched him before, but this time was different. She had created a whole persona for him. She stood up and made her way closer to where he was doing her best to not seem too creepy. "His eyes are two different colors because he's not a real human, he's a clone of his older brother. Something went wrong along the way and he turned into a whole new person. His family tried their best to hide him, but all he wanted to be was a real boy," she thought to herself with a smile. She sat herself down at a table so she wouldn't scare him off. He was very timid with new comers. It intrigued her more than she would say. Jun pushed her hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear. She kind of wanted him to notice her, even if it was a small sideways glance. Anything would do at this point. She wanted him to know she existed and she was willing to play his game of shyness.

It was finally a free period for Kento and he took it to its full advantage; meaning he had locked himself up in the library. Kento Kyo was a junior in high school ready to move into his senior year, but he had to get through the junior year first. As his fingers danced along the spins of the books, the sandy blonde haired boy gaze at them lovingly. There was so much information to be had, so much written down for him to absorb like a sponge and he would have never had this option if it wasn’t for his parents letting him go to school, just a school. His eyes blinked as he stared at one of the spines. Should he take this one?

If you were to compare the Kyo brothers, or even mention the names you’d know exactly who they were. There was the hot-headed greasy monkey, the charming lady’s man and… well Kento. Some called him the ‘oddity’ some called him the ‘quiet one’ and some referred to him as ‘the devil child’ and made up extensive stories about him. Why? Because his left eye was a golden color, much like his eldest brother Astuma, and his right eye was a teal color. You would think that his mother being a well-respected scientist would be able to push aside superstition for the sake of her son but she couldn’t. The refusal to put Kento into school was so intense that he was normally restricted of even going outside because he looked ‘different’; if it wasn’t for his brothers, probably would have had to attend an online school and never had access to an outside life.

But here he was and he held no remorse towards his mother. Nor did he hold remorse or resentment for those who treated him differently. In fact, he wishes they would talk to him more. The through pattern behind why people think the way they do was a situation that fascinated him tremendously. He wanted to understand their thought patterns and learn why they think the way they do. Maybe becoming a psychologist would be an interesting career.

A small noise caught his attention and his head slowly turned to look over his shoulder. A girl who had been sitting further away from him seemed to have inched closer and sat at the nearby table. Watching her for an additional moment he tilted his head to one side and gave her a small closed lip smile. “Hello.” He was never anti-social, it was more along the lines of people not wanting to be social with him.

Jun blushed a little as she caught his eye. His smile was innocent like that of a child with no ulterior motive. His brothers were very out there in personality, but he was a closed book she wanted to crack open and digest. She tried to think back to the first time she had seen him. It was her first day at the school her sophomore year and he was by himself at his locker. He had been looking around when she noticed the most curious about him. She was instantly captivated by his eyes. Her mother had always told her when she was little that the eyes were the windows to the soul, and his looked extremely inviting. She wasn't sure why nobody gave him the time of day until she heard the rumors in the hall about him being cursed. She couldn't deny that he appeared to be the black sheep out of his family, but she never believed in curses.

She smiled back at him debating whether or not she should try and converse with the kid. He was a little older than her, but since she skipped a grade by in elementary school she was in the same grade as him. She hesitated a moment before standing up and slowly making her way over to him. She could feel people staring at her, whispering a little about him. Nothing friendly. She shot a glare one of the guys who kept referring to him as the devils child. If there was one thing she couldn't stand it was people picking on someone for no reason other than boredom or to fit in with the crowd. She was a couple feet away from him and her heart was jumping around her chest. "Am I really going to take the risk at being an outcast with this guy?" she thought to herself.

She took her headphones off and hung them around her neck. Jun looked him straight in the eyes, still to this day intrigued by their colors. She was very aware of how the library seemed to grow completely silent as people waited to see if she would join their team or stray into a friendship with Kento. "I...I like your eyes," she said simply.

It was to his surprise, she didn’t react negatively. In fact she smiled and the whole room went silent. Silence filled the library as the two looked at each other. Did she not know the rumors about him? Was she just going to use him as a target to increase her popularity? That… that was a common one; kicking Kenton around seemed to be a rite of passage into the popular world as long as you; A] Didn’t do it in front of his brothers, and B] Rayne never heard you did it. For he roams through the popular crowds and isn’t afraid to dethrone you if he finds out.

Instead, she stood a few feet away from him and stared back at him. He did his best to keep a friendly smile but finally averted his eyes, feeling as though it was rude to stare back at her as she stared at him. Boy… and he gets called ‘weird’. This girl was staring him down as if trying to study his very soul and yet she didn’t seem mean or rude about it. The whispers picked up and Kenton’s hand stayed on the book, ready to use it as an excuse to get away from her if she decided to become rude on aggressive towards him as so many do.

Her sentence received surrounding gasps from the onlookers and Kenton’s eyes shot back up to look at her. Did… did she just say what he thought he heard. His face instantly turned red. Even his own mother never expressed liking his eyes and now a complete stranger complimented them. A bright warm smile moved across his face showing his straight white teeth. “Thank you.” His response was probably more cheery than he had originally meant it to be but with his face aflame he really didn’t seem to have too much control over his voice. His hand lowered from the book as if realizing that she meant him no warm and he turned to her, his smile still bright and his face still red. “I like your headphones. They look comfortable. What brand are they?” He got a compliment about his eyes! For the first time in his life!!

Jun chuckled a little as she reached up to touch her headphones. She hadn't meant to embarrass him, and she kicked herself mentally for doing this so publicly. His whole demeanor seemed to change as he got a little more comfortable with her presence. His smile was to die for. She made mental note to make him smile more often, maybe he would be seen more as a person than a pariah if he smiled like that to everyone. She glanced away for a second forgetting her words. She wasn't sure if she was more shocked he had answered or annoyed at the people whispering around them. "These aren't a well known brand. They're super cheap...and one of the speakers is a little broken...but they still work. I decorated them myself though," she said a little shyly.

She looked around the room and took a few steps towards him and leaned in close so she could whisper in his ear, "I use them to eavesdrop mostly. For what it's worth I don't think you're the devil's child." She took a step back and stared at her feet.

She hadn't realized just how much people didn't like him until one of the senior kids yelled out, "Two freaks for the price of one." The next thing she knew a wad of paper hit her in the back of the head. She turned around face a little red as she tried to find the culprit. Nobody stood out, but everyone was laughing. She let her fall over her face making a slight curtain. "Look his girlfriend is going to cry." More laughing. Jun turned back to Kenton eyes glued to the floor as she shrugged a little. She glanced up at him. His eyes calmed her, her fear being replaced with confidence as she stood up straight and tried to ignore the insults being thrown their way. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize I would things worse. I can leave you alone if you prefer."

Please don't prefer. Please don't let them shut you down. Keep smiling for me Kenton. Show them you don't care and we can be friends," she thought biting her lip a little.

“It looks nice.” Kenton replied with a nod and a chipper smile. Look at him! He was having a conversation with someone who wasn’t his brothers! She hadn’t ran away, or start talking badly to him, instead she was engaging him in conversation and even said she liked his eyes. Even if she walked away as if nothing had happened; that little comment made his world spin for the first time in years. Her mention of his not thinking about him as a devil’s child made his cheeks turn even more red than he already was; it crept up to his ears and he turned his gaze to the floor in a shy gesture.

Then… came the comments. Was he surprised? Not really. Was he offended? Yes he was. Not for himself. He was used to it, but the fact that they were going after her. He missed her comment because another wad of paper came flying at her. This time, Kenton rose a hand up and caught the paper. “Listen!” He said, his voice ranging loudly through the library and silence followed his word. “Say what you will about me, and do what you want to me but do not insult or assault a woman in my presence again.”

At that, the room fled, “The devil’s child is pissed! Run!” People were shouting, some laughing as they did so, obviously understanding the pointless meaning of the statement while others were stressed and worried he might actually do something to harm them. He crumpled the paper tightly in his hand before his arm dropped to his side and the paper finally fell from his grasp. “I’m sorry…” He said softly closing his eyes, “I think I just made things worse for you.” He scratched the back of his head as he opened his eyes, staring directly at her with an embarrassed look on his face. “I apologize and I understand if you want to leave.”

Jun shook her head a little relieved he hadn't tried to force her away. She reached out her hand and nudged him a little. He was nicer than she first thought he would be. She had been scared to talk to him for a while now in fear that he would reject her words and lump her in with the rest of their school. The way his voice boomed through the library sent little chills throw her, never had she thought his voice could rise above his normal tone. She had flinched slightly, but more because it reminded her of her father yelling at her mother right before she left and didn't come back for months. She wasn't sure if she wanted to run and write about the encounter in her journal, or continue the conversation. Instead she pulled her headphones from around her neck and unplugged them from her mp3 player. She placed them around his neck and placed the cord in his hand.

"You need these more than I do," she said with a calming smile plastered to her face, "I plan on making you my friend and I don't want them using me to get a rise from you."

She refused to be used as another excuse for violence. Her parents had put enough of that blame on her without any hesitation. Every time her mom hit her father it was because Jun had mentioned something in passing conversation. Every time her father got into a drunken brawl at a bar it was because she made him drink. She wanted Kenton to associate her with kindness and affection, not slander and rage. She didn't want his voice to raise the way it did a couple minutes ago because people had nothing better to do except pick on them. She pulled her hair up into a pony tail so that she wouldn't be able to hide from the insults. "If they're going to hurl them at us I might as well take the hit with him," she thought as she looked around.

Befriending Kenton would be liberating. She would be going against the accepted norm at the school and she didn't want him to think she was embarrassed about it. She leaned forward again to whisper in his ear, getting a little closer than last time, "We can be outcast together. I never really liked these people anyway." She sat herself down at the table beside her and the two students who had been there previously quickly got up and left. She gestured with her hand for him to take a seat. She wanted to pick his brain a little. The only things she knew about him were all made up stories from her mind.

His eyes stared down at the headset with a shocked; you’d think his eyeballs were going to fall out of his head he had them expanded so wide. She was giving him something, for no reason. Realizing he was probably being rude by not saying anything he gave the cord a small squeeze and presented her with a gentle smile. “Thank you…” were the only words he could find himself able to say. What a strange feeling, someone giving you something for no reason. This kind of thing never happens to him but he felt bad, he had nothing to give her in return.

Taking the seat next to her he placed his hands on the table and gave her another bright smile, his cheeks still hadn’t returned to their normal color, he was still blushing and he hoped this would go away sooner rather than later. It was a rarity for people to talk to him, much less a girl talk to him. Atsuma was an asshole, which for some reason brought girls to him. And Rayne was a natural flirt which… well got him girls. Then there was Kenton, who’s only knowledge about girls is the things he learned from books and anything he might have overheard/seen of them. As you can imagine, that knowledge is very limited.

“I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced. I’m Kenton Kyo. And you are?” If he was going to try and make a friend there was no point at being shy now was there?

Jun let herself lean against the table using her arms to keep her propped up as she watched him a little amused. She could tell her forwardness was foreign to him, which surprised a little. His brothers were considered to be the top of the top when it came to ladies men. She had assumed it was a family thing to be a natural, but she had neglected to add in the lack of people who wanted his attention. She felt a little bad for him. She really never saw him with anyone but his brothers or just himself. She couldn't judge though. She herself never really gave anyone the time of day unless they came to her first. Her making the first move was a rarity, but something about Kenton called out to her. He wasn't looking for anything except conversation in return. Most guys their age just wanted a good screw and then they were done with you.

She let herself rest her head against her hands completely at ease since the library had begun to clear after the outburst. "I'm Jun Akita. We actually have some classes together, although I tend to go unnoticed. I don't even think the teachers know I exist," she said with a little sigh, "it's actually weird talking to you like this. I've only ever seen you from afar and you kind of seem intimidating. I don't know why people avoid you. It's like they're scared if you get too close one of their own eyes might change colors. Which would be really cool. I'd love to have one green and one blue."

She bit her lip a little shocked at her own words. She hoped he wouldn't be offended. Too scared to look at him anymore she averted her gaze to his hands. They looked soft, but strong. She wondered if his handshake would be gentle or firm. He didn't seem like the kind of person who would use them for harm. His soul seemed to be very inviting she began to wish her father had that same kind of aura, maybe then her mother would have stuck around. "What's your favorite color, Kenton? You wear a lot of dark clothes, but I imagine you're a very colorful person underneath all your layers," she said quietly.

This whole ‘talking to a girl’ thing was incredibly foreign to him. In his family it would always be Rayne returning home late from one of his dates and Atsuma sneaking girls into his room for an evening; then there was him. His largest experience with girls was those from books and his longest conversation with a girl was happening at this moment. However she didn’t seem scared, or bothered or even nervous. Maybe this is what having a conversation with someone was supposed to be like. It was nice, a nice change in his life and he really enjoyed it.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Akita.” Sure his words were formal but his smile was genuine and polite as he nodded his head to her. “Well formally meet you; I don’t think an announcement of who’s whom in class is the best way to get to know someone.” So they had a few classes together, he should actually keep an eye out for her instead of trying to avoid people. Would he come across as pushy if he waved to her in the hallways? Or smiled at her? Or asked to sit next to her in one of their classes together? He was new to this whole ‘friendship’ idea; a new idea that he wanted to venture into.

“If I ever learn how to do that you’ll be the first one to get your eye color changed.” He responded, a pleasant looking expression moved across his face as he chuckled softly. “Sadly my eye color doesn’t give me any magical abilities. Much to my own dislike; but hey it makes me different.” A genuine smile moved across his fine lips once again. He had no reason to dislike his features, it was others who disliked them he had couldn’t control what people liked and disliked. Kenton learned that a long time ago, but that didn’t stop him from liking himself.

“My favorite color?” He repeated sounding perplexed by her question. His thumb and pointer finger rent to rest against his chin as he thought. “You know, I’ve always liked yellow. Not so much on me but around me. I’ve always found yellow to be a bright and cheery color. And as someone who prefers to be happy compared to sad and depressed I like bright colors around me. Even my car is yellow.” He said with a small chuckle again.

This time he wanted to ask her a question. “What about you? What’s your favorite color? Oh and candy, what’s your favorite candy?”

Jun watched him carefully. He seemed to be relaxing into the groove of having a normal conversation. She began to wonder if he'd ever done this with a person before or if he was winging it. Did he have friends outside of school or was he always relying on his siblings. She scrunched up her nose a little at the mention of his favorite color. Sure yellow had it's moments like sunshine or a hair color, but she couldn't help but think of bananas. "Did you know yellow is a color associated with hunger? Remember that when you drive around in your little yellow automobile," she said trying to think of her own favorite color.

She had always been a fan of the pastels, or something of the purple variety, but lately she's found herself leaning towards more darker tones. Her clothes and personality screamed that she could be bubbly but at the end of the day when she went home everything seemed to be more...,"Gray," she said with a little sadness in her voice, "I'm in a gray phase. As for candy....," she hesitated a moment. The last time she ate candy was when she was 5 years old. Before her parents began their tiffs. "I don't very much like candy. It's too sweet. I'd take a soft pretzel or maybe french fries over candy. I have very unhealthy eating habits."

She pulled herself from her mind as she looked at the clock on the wall. It was almost time for their last period of the day and it was a class the two shared together. Part of her wanted to skip it an just sit and talk to him. Learn what made him tick and what made him smile. What he liked and what he couldn't stand. The crevices of his mind called her name and she wanted to keep digging until there was no more for him to share. She wasn't sure why she was so intrigued by this boy. She couldn't figure out why she was seeking his attention the way she was. She had never wanted to know someone. Never wanted a friend. He was different though.

"I like when you smile. It makes your eyes do this little crinkle and it's very endearing," she said aloud instead of in her head. Her cheeks burned red and put a hand over her face cursing herself under her breath. "How could you be so stupid! You're going to scare him off! Why am I nervous? Why do I want to be his friend so damn badly?!" she thought to herself as she groaned a little.

Learning something about yellow was surprising and his face, much like the books he reads, was rather open about his surprise, and her comment about is car made him laugh. His laughter was heartfelt and warm as if it was coming straight from his soul and when he opened his eyes, they were twinkling with excitement from the conversation. “So my car is single handedly making people hungry. I suppose I’ll take credit for all the fast food places continuing to be in business.”

Her response about the colors made him nod, a gently closed lip smile across his face as he listened to her, her expression of not liking candy was a bit surprising which again, was read on his face, but her explanation of enjoying a soft pretzel or French fries caused his head to rise and fall in a nod and her response of having bad eating habits made him chuckle. “It’s alright, everyone deserves a treat and if your treat is junk food I say ‘go for it’ and don’t let anyone stop you.”

His hazel gold and teal gaze moved up to the clock just as the ‘leave class’ bell rang. A large sigh left the sandy haired young man as he rose from his seat. “Looks like it’s the final class of the day. You have Mrs. Bailey right?” Moving his chair back into the table he gave her a soft smile as he grabbed his book back and through it over his shoulder. “Do you want to walk to class together Miss Akita?”

Jun stood up with a nod. She raised her arms to stretch and a small yawn escaped her mouth. She hadn't realized how tired she was. The lack of sleep from the previous night finally catching up to her. It didn't help that she had worked all night at the diner and then stayed up almost all morning to do homework. It would almost be a repeat tonight also, except she would spend it in a park doing her homework by street lamp. "Lead the way, Mr. Kyo," she said as she propped his arm slightly as she hung her own loosely around his.

She had her book hanging off her shoulder like a purse and as they walked she focused more on him than the other people staring at their interactions. She replayed his laugh in her head and it brought a huge smile to her face. He was defiantly one of a kind and the fact that she didn't need to fight for his attention made it even better. There were snickers along the hall and people had called out to them, but she wasn't really sure what they were saying. Her mind was focused on Kenton and how she enjoyed his presence. The way he kind of tensed up under her touch unsure of how to handle the situation. How his smile met his eyes when they were talking, which was something she had never seen on him. He mostly looked lonely or scared when he was around people.

"We'll have to start walking to classes together, and maybe you can sit by me. We can pass secret notes when the lectures get boring and the teacher isn't looking. I can draw horrible stick figures of you and and you can write me book recommendations. It'll make the classes worth going to. We'll have each other to look forward to," she said leaning her head against him, "the possibilities are endless, my friend. We can even have study sessions on my days off....sorry I'm getting ahead of myself. You obviously have a life outside of these walls."

Having someone interact with him longer than a checkout stand was wonderful! People either stayed away from him, or wouldn’t talk to him. And when they did, the things they had to say weren’t very pleasant. Until her; she said she liked his eyes. To be honest, Kenton didn’t really know what to do with himself at that point. She seemed interested enough in him to hold a conversation and now they were walking to class together.

Her excited-ness about this -friendship?- was almost contagious as he found himself smiling as they walked. She did talk a lot but that was okay with him because he liked to listen. She seemed to be enjoying the idea of having someone to communicate during class with and he was no different. “I’m sure we think of something to make the class periods go by faster. I will admit I’m normally not one to sit in the back but as long as I’m not alone I see no reason why I shouldn’t.” Alone, he wasn’t alone anymore.

When they entered the classroom he followed her to the back of the class where they sat down. He pulled out a pen and a pad of paper and flipped it open. Kenton took many notes during class, it was how he retained things and there was even little drawings up in the left hand corner that he had done during the time the teachers were going on about things he had already taken notes for. As the class began he quietly ripped out a piece of paper, once it was out he wrote on the top line.

What’s your favorite food? I’m a sucker for lasagna.

With that he folded it into a small square and slid it onto her desk while the teacher had their back turned.

Jun was known for getting good grades in class, but her attention span was similar to a fly. She hated sitting still and taking notes. She always found herself beginning the notes and then switching over to drawing little stick families or robots. She found herself today glancing at Kenton, while trying not to get caught. He was a very handsome boy and his hair laid perfectly she was almost jealous. Her headphones hung around his neck like they were made for him and she couldn't help but smile. She enjoyed his company. She watched him write on his paper the notes for that lesson and saw how focused he appeared to be. When he passed her a note she couldn't wait to read it.

"Favorite food? Hmmm, you sure pick the tricky things don't you?" she thought to herself as she scribbled her response. I'm a fan of pizza. So many choices for toppings. What kind of dessert do you prefer? Cake is my go to." she wrote back and folded up the note. She waited for the teacher to turn their back again and placed it on his desk with a grin. She knew he never did that kind of stuff with anyone else so it made her feel a little special. Class would go by much faster with him on her side to keep her distracted.

Kenton started to scribble notes and mimicked the notes of the teacher on the board. He was having difficulty focusing, simply because he was excited to receive his next note from her. He had a friend, at least close to a friend. She seemed to enjoy his company a bit. And even just a bit meant a lot to him! He hurried through his notes, even threw his hurry, his handwriting was still good.

The note slid back onto his desk and he delicately slid it under his notebook to hide it from the turning around teacher. Once the teacher wasn’t looking, he unfolded the note and hurried to read it. His face scrunched in thought at the question What is my favorite dessert? He questioned to himself. His long fingers tapped softly against the notepad he was writing on. That was a question even he really didn’t know the answer to and the young man finally scribbled on the paper.

I’d actually have to say cake too, anything with cream cheese icing on it. What’s your favorite type of movie? I like a good horror movie myself. Something about being scared really gets the blood pumping. It’s like a roller coaster ride without the theme park.

Once the teacher turned his back once again, Kenton slid the note onto her desk.

Jun watched as he drummed his fingers, she hadn't realized how thought provoking things could be when it came to food. She found herself stifling a laugh as she tried to focus on the teachers words. He seemed to be able to grasp everything, while she was more of a one track mind. If something caught her attention that was even remotely more interesting she couldn't stop thinking about it. She jotted down a couple key points and then went back to doodling on her paper. She pushed her hair from her face a couple times before pulling it into a low pony tail. When the note made it's way back to her desk and grabbed it excitedly causing a few people to look over at her in confusion.

She read the question and sighed. "We were meant to be friends," she thought to herself as she replied back, Horror movies are my all time favorite. We should spend this weekend watching them together. She looked at the clock on the wall. Class was almost over, she decided against writing another question and slid it to his desk. They would be talking verbally soon enough and she had to think of some movies for them to watch. Anything to peak his interest would work. Since she was off work this weekend she needed something to keep her from running into her dad.

His gold and teal eyes glanced up at the clock before looking down at the note. A smile moved across his face as he read what she wrote and couldn’t help but nod. That was hard to believe that she enjoyed the same movie style that he did. Maybe they could actually get together this weekend and what some of his favorite horror movies. A small chuckle left him as he nodded towards the note before closing his book and packing up his things as the bell rang.

Climbing from his seat he slung his bag over his shoulder and smiled at her. “Can I walk you outside?” A grin moved across his face showing his straight white teeth again before the two left the classroom. After a decent amount of conversation they made it outside and Kenton turned around the school walking towards the back of the school where he had parked. “Do you want a ride home? Or wherever you’re going next? I have to stop by the library in town so there really isn’t a place outside of my travels.” He asked with a smile as he pulled out his keys and beeped his yellow convertible Ferrari 458 unlocking it. He seemed to park away from the whole school for one reason or another.

Jun nodded excitedly, "The infamous little yellow car. Just looking at it makes me hungry," she said with a laugh as he looked at it. She wasn't sure where she'd have him take her, but home was out of the question. She looked over at him thoughtfully. "Would you...would you take me to the library? I need to study and get this homework done, what better place than there, right?" she said with a small smile. The library was the exact opposite of where she lived, and the farther away from home she was the better. She figured she could start there and then walk her way back. It would waste time and her father wouldn't bother her for money.

She opened the door and sat herself inside. It had more room than she thought it would, and the interior looked almost brand new. Her mouth gaped open as she took it all in. "Wow, I can't even imagine having a car like this. It's...it's very you," she said almost laughing. It was clean and proper in the way he was, but as she glanced around the vehicle she couldn't help but enjoy every aspect. It appeared to be the better car out of his two brothers. "Don't you ever get scared to crash it? I'd be a nervous wreck driving a car like this."

Kenton climbed into the driver’s seat and settled down in his car. A smile moved across his face as he stuck the key into the ignition and the engine roared to life. “Sure, I start work at 3 and I’m off at 7. Not much of a job but it’s something.” He said with a nod before he buckled himself up. He loved what he did at the library, restocking the shelves, helping with events and checking people’s library books out. The old people who came to the library did normally keep their distance but children with their innocence seemed almost drawn to them. And even the families of the children seemed alright with him.

“I don’t get concerned about the car.” He said with a shrug as he pulled out of the parking lot and started into town. “I’m always concerned about the people. Either those who are walking, those in the car with me, in the other cars or… possibly those who might seek to vandalize my car; that’s what I’m most nervous about.” He said with a nod. He really does care about people, however there have been very few who expressed being able to car about him. Kenton took pride in his car, which is why it didn’t have any dirt on it, it was clean on the inside and well maintained; it was one of the few possessions his parents gave him and he took pride in it.

The drive through town was peaceful and they had fun singing along to the radio before he pulled into the back of the library. Hurrying out of the car he held the door open for her with a cheesy grin. “My Lady.” He said giving her a cheeky grin with a bow. There was no doubt that Jun was helping Kenton find himself and re-develop his lost humor.
