Would your idea happen to rely upon them being discovered, or not being discovered?

Muttonhawk Let Slip the Corgis of War

It relies on a couple of conditions. You can probably see the steps I'm taking to get to it, but beyond the shake-up event it's more of a 'see what happens' type of thing. I will say that it relies on the book being successfully and secretly planted.

Just to be clear, I don't want to telegraph that Sabine has to be killed here. The whole 'killing blow' line is just her internal expectations.

It really depends on the direction you'd like the story to take. The consequences would be pretty clear if Sabine was killed. It would mean a long extra arc for the pack as a whole, Meesei in particular. While that could be interesting, I'm not sure if it's appropriate with how close we are to wrapping the overall story up.

The original idea I had was for Sabine to get captured after the book is planted and see what happens. However, Arinette and Do'Rhajul are your characters and the options are still there.

What are your thoughts?

Sabine can certainly be captured, as that is the strategy Arinette would want to take for one of Meesei's packmates. She knows how much of a weakness their personal connections can be.

I don't think I would want Sabine to be killed at this point. That might bring an end to certain plot lines before they could really be brought to fruition. However, I do have some ideas of things that could happen in her captivity to further her own character. Though, I don't imagine Arinette will make it a pleasant stay.

I don't imagine that either!

I'm curious to see how it turns out, though.

I managed to get a post before going to bed.

I think, apart from a few reaction posts from the others, we can concentrate on Sabine. It might be interesting to resolve without a rescue party.

Sounds good. I reckon any rescue efforts would take more time than resolving the situation from the other side anyway.

G'night!

Sorry for the delay. I think that is a good place to leave with Meesei and the others, so we can focus on Sabine.

I'm guessing Sabine will continue to refuse information? I think I could summarize what each of them do over the next few hours.

With the current angles Arinette is taking, Sabine is probably not going to talk today, no. We don't have to play out every single torture Arinette has. I'll let you skip to whatever scene you feel is appropriate, but Sabine is going to try and talk to Yerig when and if he has a watch shift during the night and while the others sleep.

I have an idea in mind for something that can happen after a few hours IC. With the plan they carried out, I don't think it would make sense for it to go on for days.

I feel things could get interesting, particularly if the balance of power shifts. Though, I am about to get to bed. I should be able to respond in the morning, if you have by then.

Completely unrelated to anything, but do you like turn-based strategy RPGs?

Yeah, they can be fun. You probably noticed on steam that I've been playing Disciples II every now and then. That...sort of falls under the genre, but it's really more of a Heroes of Might and Magic ripoff. It's not particularly good in comparison to most strategy games (apart from the artwork) but it's a nostalgic game from my childhood that I've been playing as a wind-down game.

Why do you ask?

I never used to play the genre at all, but I bought a game recently that I quite enjoyed. Divinity: Original Sin II. The gameplay was great, sometimes unforgiving, and had a world that really grew on me.

Ah, I know the one you're talking about. I heard pretty awesome things about the first Divinity: Original Sin when it came out, but it languished on my list of games I'd like to try. Those games have coop, don't they?

I don't know about previous installments, but Divinity II does. You don't really need to have played the old ones, I don't think, since it takes place centuries after. The co-op is interesting since you are by no means required to work together. You can absolutely just sabotage your friends at your leisure, and of course, the whole point of the game is that one of the party is seeking to become a god. And only one.
