Cosmos, the one and only Goddess of Harmony felt intensely guilty about what she was about to do..she was going to drag people into her personal war once again. But she had no choice in the matter, not after it had happened every time before. Cosmos's power was not to be used for herself to fight, she was no warrior.

The only thing she could do was give her power to warriors who fought for the light, through the crystals. And that's what she fully planned on doing, just like the times before. But it didn't make her feel any less horrible for the suffering that was about to transpire.

She thought about all of the previous cycles..all of the friendships that had been lost, villainous schemes that were foiled, all of the heroic last stands that had taken place..it happened over and over and over again. Neither side would bend, and thus the war of the two gods continued ceaselessly.

Cosmos placed her hand to her chest, the wretched feeling of guilt still not ceasing. She was just putting it off, but she just wanted the momentary peace and quiet to go on for just a bit longer. After the many, many cycles Cosmos knew what to do, and what to say.

She would summon all of her warriors to her directly, and explain the nature of their quest. She would explain the crystals they would need to fetch in order to stand a chance against defeating Chaos, and the nature of Cosmos and Chaos's war, and their roles in it as her Warriors. She knew they would be filled with doubts and confused over loss of memory, and that some would not be confident in fighting at all.

After all of the cycles, she knew what would happen exactly, or at least a solid inclination of what would transpire. Chaos would naturally do his own explanation, albeit in more threatening manner and with a lack of humility or any hint of humbleness. That was what made Chaos her opposite, after all.

Her thoughts then wandered over to Chaos himself. Chaos was cunning and intelligent, but not only that, he was hesitant to punish those that betrayed him. Despite being Chaos, he was good to those who served under him, even if they were plotting against him or trying to betray him, which made Chaos dangerous as her enemy.

She wondered if he had also grown tired of the repeated cycles of battle after failed battle, of going through the same motions, over and over again. Most likely not, as he probably enjoyed the Chaos, as he was the God of Chaos after all. Chaos was probably resigned to it in his own way, although he probably was just willing to play the long game.

Well, she had put off the summoning of warriors for long enough with her thinking. She shook her head, trying to cleanse the worry, guilt and doubts from her mind. Chaos being Chaos, he had probably already summoned his warriors and begun planning out his moves.

Cosmos put her hand up and used her power of summoning. "Please aid me, Warriors of Light." she said. And thus, the war had officially begun, her Warriors of Light coming shortly. She silently hoped that they would all be strong, in both strength AND mind, and that this time..the war would finally end.

Peace.. Cosmos thought to herself as she waited. Please bring peace, and an end to this battle, my Heroes of Light..

Firion

`Maria... Leon... Guy...` Firion thought to himself, reflecting on those who were dearest to him.

Unfortunately, Firion was unable to recall anything about his recent circumstances beyond the fact that he had been separated from his three closest companions. The last moments he clearly remembered involved the four of them running for their lives from imperial soldiers sent by the Empire of Palamecia. Under orders from the Emperor of Palamecia, the soldiers had destroyed the Kingdom of Fynn for its attempt at rebellion against their campaign of dominion, and the four youths had watched their homeland be burnt down and laid waste to. They were wounded, and that was the last instant that Firion had in his memories. Had he somehow been saved, or was this place he did not recognize proof that his soul had passed on to another world? Everything was murky, besides the fact that somehow he knew he possessed powers that he had no recollection of learning.

Perhaps it was an emanation of the very clouded thoughts that consumed Firion's memory; maybe it was all a coincidence instead. Whatever the reason might have been, he found himself wandering a cave that was shrouded in mist. He had no idea where he was or how he had gotten there, but - somehow - he could feel a malevolent presence, as if something - or someone - was watching him, even if there was no sensation that the owner of this presence was anywhere nearby. More than anything, it was just a feeling had deep inside of his very being -- not that he could begin to explain it or divulge why he felt this way. Nevertheless, the feeling persisting in the continuing moments that he tried - in all futility - to understand his situation. Despite everything, he carefully looked around the cave and seeked to assess a way out of here -- assuming one even existed.

`No matter what happens... or how hopeless the future looks... I'll make my dreams come true!` Firion confirmed in his mind, finding his determination and passion for the future the only things keeping him moving forward now, `They have to be alive!` he assured himself internally.

Cecil Harvey

`What is... this place...?` Cecil thought, slowly walking through a warren city with no traces of life.

From the very little he could make of his surroundings, the city was built around a palace; it had multiple levels, and was fortified by walls in a similar fashion to his homeland of Baron. In spite of this, there was not a single doubt in Cecil's mind that this was not his home; in fact, he was somewhere that was completely foreign to him. He had only been here for a short amount of time, since no more than a few minutes had passed since he had woken in this place. For whatever reason, his memories were incredibly foggy; however, they were not entirely missing. Perhaps it was due to the significant awakening his soul had gone through in the process of becoming a Paladin, but Cecil was still able to - for the most part - vividly remember who he was prior to that transformation. What eluded him was the details of events that had taken place afterwards, though vague visions were coming into his mind as he got his bearings.

`Rosa... Kain... I'll find you. You've my word on it.` he reflected within his mind, other people who were dear to him moving through his mind afterwards. He needed to locate everyone hastily, before anything terrible happened.

Cecil took a deep breath as the rain - which somehow seemed to eternally shower the region - calmed him, still trying to make what he could out of the unique architecture of the city, looking for any clues as to where he was. There did not seem to be anything resembling residents in this place, almost as if he was walking through some sort of ghost town. He considered the possibility that this land was a victim of some sort of war, yet nothing even looking like a corpse could be seen anywhere.

Besides his unusual whereabouts, something else was explicitly bothering Cecil right now -- a change within his soul. There was a distinct shift in the very fibres of his being ever since he had been - for lack of a better word, as he recalled nothing of how he got here - teleported to this place. Somehow, he could feel the power of the Dark Knight residing within him again, as if he was able to summon forth its power again even though he had cast aside the dark that once haunted him. Indeed, whenever he focused on it too much he almost felt as though his old armour and sword were going to materialize again.

`Those days are behind me, so why does my soul waver...? I'll not yield my will again.` he thought, resolving himself.

Terra Branford

`Arise, Mog... You must hurry.` a voice echoed in the mind of the young moogle, who slowly opened his eyes.

Mog looked at his surroundings, finding himself in a forest. It looked familiar to him, at least in the sense that it resembled the world he knew, but he was unable to completely tell where he was. What disturbed him more than anything was that - to the best of his recall - this place seemed too alive to be his home. Had everything been a dream? Was all of that horrifying destruction and death nothing more than a nightmare that had now disappeared, and if so why had it felt so real? He had little time to answer these questions though, for the moment he became conscious he noticed the body of a dear friend laying against a tree close to him.

"Terra, kupo!" he spoke as he rushed over to the blonde girl who remained unconscious.

Very quickly, it became clear that Terra's life was in danger. While something that the small moogle would be incapable of understanding or having any knowledge of, their summoning to this place had been 'corrupted' somehow, and the process had affected all parties involved. Mog started to panic as he tried to understand what was happening, not being able to perceive how they had gotten to this place or where the others were.

Just when the moogle had almost lost hope, he somehow felt like he knew what he needed to do. He was unable to understand why or how he knew this, and would even be incapable of explaining what had to happen if someone had asked him, but it was as if a presence within him had the answers. Mog slowly held out his little hand and touched Terra's forehead, causing a spiritual bond to form between the two of them that connected his soul with hers. While this action resulted in him dissipating from the material world, he remained within Terra and the danger to her life was ended. His life force was shared with her own and mended whatever damage had been done to her soul, returning her to normal in the process.

"Mmmm..." Terra stirred slightly, still asleep.

Chaos, The God of Discord
(Past) Edge of Madness

The being known as 'Chaos' sat upon his throne, two of his four arms resting on the arms of his throne, while the others remained crossed upon his lap. Chaos had lost count of the amount of cycles there had been; His mind, with every cycle that passed, slowly faded. His reasoning and calm demeanor disappearing, and being met with more anger and frustration. No matter what events transpired, the other end of this conflict never seemed to die. Or, at least remain so. But that wasn't what made him feel how he did; What was truly angering him was the fact somewhere inside himself, beyond the hatred and destruction, there was a small amount of happiness about the fact Cosmos lived.

"Why?" He pondered aloud, fists clenching. Lifting one hand from his throne, he swings the fist downward, shattering the left arm with ease. While he had all intentions to defeat Cosmos, he found an odd sensation in the fact she had yet to perish; But pushed past it rather easily as his main goal was his true focus; He'd destroy Cosmos and the Warriors that opposed him, and take everything else with it. One side would gain the upperhand eventually; And Chaos was focused, wanting to make sure it'd be him.

Shaking his head lightly, Chaos stood; leg shifting as he calmly brushed away the broken arm of his throne, not wanting it in his sight. When it came to the selection of his pawns, he was quite specific in what he wanted; Many individuals, from many places, wanting to destroy for one reason or another. Either complete destruction, or domination via killing the opposition. Both were acceptable. His warriors came from many different backgrounds, and realms. One day he planned to form an unstoppable force, one that Cosmos will never be able to match. And, with the will to end her games once and for all, figured that force should be born in this cycle.

At least that way, he could finally see what comes next.

"Many of them have failed me." He said to himself, pondering as he thought about his decisions. Many of these warriors had both defeated Cosmos in past cycles, and fallen to her own warriors. Chaos had taken his to call upon his pawns; Though for much different reasons, compared to Cosmos. While she hesitated, he thought carefully; His mind hadn't completely faded, after all. He was still going to pick based on his own thoughts... Even if those thoughts were, at times, a bit clouded.

It was time for another cycle of destruction. While Chaos himself knew that this may just be another cycle lost to the span of infinite time, he wished to at least see Cosmos crushed if they were damned to do it again. His warriors would, surely, take pleasure in making sure her pawns suffered the same fate. He would deal with any outcome other than defeat; He was ready to fight until his mind disappeared, and long after. If there was one thing he would not do, it was be defeated. He'd, above all else, assure another cycle rather than give Cosmos the victory. He'd win, eventually; Cosmos could not keep her resolve forever.

Enough was enough, however. It was time to call forth his pawns.

"I call upon those who seek destruction; and power. And those who are destined to such fates. Those lost, and fully devoted to Chaos and what it brings, you shall be my pawns in this game of slaughter." All four of his arms shifted, raising up towards the darkened sky above his throne. Chaos knew his warriors worked the most effective taking their own initiative, and would ensure to not disturb their efforts unless necessary. And, even when necessary, a part of him hesitated to take action. This part of him has existed for longer than he could remember; And it was yet another thing that angered him. But that anger? It was good. It was the anger that he'd use to destroy everything; Especially Cosmos and her pawns of choice for this new cycle of war.

Making himself clear to them would be, to say the least, a very important part of ending everything. Summoning his pawns here... Yes, that'd be the most effective way of getting this fact straight. He could already feel Cosmos' Warriors. Enough waiting; It was time for war. He'd brief his pawns before her, certainly. The coward not being one to take action fast enough even though her life depended on it.

"Now come forth, and bring your true natures with you."

Galuf Halm Baldesion
Mist Cave

Slowly awakening against a rugged wall of the cave, Galuf's eyes slowly opened as he looked at his surroundings. Dark, somewhat difficult to see anything else between that, and the mist. The old man groaned as he slowly stood, not being to the point he'd have his back go out, but he was still hurting from his battle with Exdeath. "I don't understand." He spoke to himself, surprised as he looked at his body; Completely fine, as if he hadn't been struck down at all. He had done all he could to protect Bartz, Lenna, and Faris... As well as his loving granddaughter, Krile. He had, in his final moments, passed on the essence of the Earth Crystal to Krile, so she could aid his companions on their quest to try and save the worlds from Exdeath and The Void.

Regardless, the old man felt a warmth inside him; Which was strange, giving it was a bit cold in this cave, but as he took a moment to ponder it, he came to realize he could still feel the power of the Earth Crystal inside him. A frown crossed his face at what this possibly meant, but he couldn't lose hope in a time like this. Whatever was happening, his friends, and family, were somewhere fighting a very dangerous battle. And he'd find a way to be there, no matter what.

Stepping forward, Galuf was cautious. Dead or not, this place made him extremely wary. He'd prefer to avoid a second death if possible, especially since the others needed his old bones anyhow. He knew Bartz could lead them to victory, but didn't want all of the responsibility to fall on the young man. Galuf himself was a king; a leader. Something, now that Galuf thought about it, Bartz could be one day. Krile is much too young to rule his Kingdom; If he was to pick anyone to fill his shoes, it'd be Bartz.

If he could tell him that to his face was yet to be seen, however.

Freya Crescent
Burmecia Streets

Back to the beginning again. Somehow...

The Burmecian dressed in red stood in the rain, staring up at the sky with a blank expression. What was once her home laid vacant; Destroyed with a lack of survivors. It angered her, to say the least. She should have been here to defend her home; But instead, she ran away on some damned love-struck quest. She was pathetic, to say the least. She wished she could have saved Burmecia from it's fate, but knew she would have just been another casualty. She clenched the spear at her side tightly, pressing the end into the stone below her.

Freya was, not admittingly, drawing a lot of blanks. She had no idea why she was back here, when Zidane and the others needed her help. But she had no idea where they were, so perhaps she was supposed to not be with them? These thoughts only confuse her more, as she finally breaks her eyes away from the sky, instead to the ruined buildings of her home. There were no words to express her feelings, at the moment. But the sadness and pain was all there in her face for anyone to read. She had no idea why she was here; There was nothing for her now; After she and Zidane, as well as the rest of their companions, passed through. It felt like such a long time ago, as well. How long had it been? It felt like months, but could've been days. Hours, even. She faintly recalled these ruins without rain; But it always had rained. That thought was foolish. Her expression was a saddened and confused one, as she glanced about. She didn't even know where she had been following that monkey-tailed fool to. She just knew it had been important.

Her expression changed however, as she picked up the sound of approaching footsteps. Lifting her spear, she turned, eyes noticing a Hume approaching. A strange-looking one, however. He was armed, but didn't carry the insignia of any kingdom she was familiar with; That wasn't enough for her to be welcoming, however. She wouldn't let some Hume walk into her home and disturb the dead. Not without some form of reasoning, at the very least.

"Stop." Freya spoke with a stern tone, not preparing herself to fight just yet; She kept her spear in one hand, rather than her usual two-handed style. A pair of hurt, but determined eyes glared forward at the man; Intentions not clear on her eyes alone. The pain she felt was still visible to those who cared to notice such things.

"You disturb the fallen by stepping into the fallen city of Burmecia. What reason do you have for being here?" She questioned, cautiously. While she wasn't actually sure if anyone would be rolling in their graves if he was around, Freya herself was uncomfortable; And that was enough to make her say what she did. His response would decide if he would be welcome, or turned away. She'd prefer to do the latter so she could continue to think to herself, but wasn't capable of denying good reasoning. The outcome of this situation entirely depended on how he handled his response.

"I-Impossible!" Ritz exclaimed, shocked as she practically dug her face into her map, shocked. This was supposed to be a volcano, not a forest! Ritz was a good navigator; There was no way she was wrong, was there? She folded the map with some frustration, shoving it into her bag. She sighed, unsure of how this happened. She was walking a trail with Shara and their guild not even ten minutes ago; And now everyone was gone and she was alone in some dumb forest!

"Now just how the heck am I supposed to find the others?" She questioned, continuing along. She'd find a town or something eventually, right? This forest couldn't go on forever; And Ritz knew she could take care of herself. Sadly, beyond her adventuring, she had forgotten a lot of things; Specifically of the home that remained before this one. The town of Ivalice was lost in her foggy past, and instead all she could recall was adventuring with her best friend. It was as if the realm of Ivalice had been her origial home... Though that was far from the truth. Not that she cared.

After a few minutes of walking, Ritz decided to pull her map back out; To at least attempt to figure out where she was going. As she marched along, she'd notice practically nothing around her unless it made itself known; Too busy grumbling to herself with her face jammed into the map trying to figure out her problems. Plenty of uses of "Stupid map" along with variants were used in her frustration, which would continue for goddess-knows how long.

Everything had been so sudden.

"W-What..." Marche muttered, glancing about. Last time he checked, he was sleeping in a tavern; Not located in a hellish looking realm with red skies and a barren landscape. It was, to say the least, hot; Marche hadn't experienced anything like it before, this was beyond strange, and what was even stranger was the fact he had barely any idea of how he got here. Crossing his arms, he looked down for a moment as he thought about what was happening. Where was Montblanc? Or the rest of Clan Centurio? The boy slowly looked up, noticing something a bit more terrifying; The fact he wasn't the only one here.

It was a bit scary, seeing all of these large individuals. Some armored fully, others looking weaker, but equally terrifying; Like the jester guy. He was off-putting and kind of giving Marche bad vibes. What had he gotten into? The boy looked ahead, and his eyes widened as he looked beyond the circular ring and towards the throne in front of them all; Seeing the hulking beast that resided atop of it. Instinct made him reach for his blade; He glanced to his side as he felt a hand grip his.

"I don't think that's a good idea." Zidane said, tone somewhat casual as he smiled at Marche, slowly releasing his hand. "That guy doesn't exactly look nice, you know? I'd suggest maybe not attacking him."

Zidane was mostly remaining calm on the outside; But on the inside he was freaking out a bit. Everything was a big blank; He couldn't remember a thing! Except for a few precise words and a blurry face to go with them. Something about destroying 'Gaia' and saving 'Terra'. Neither of these things meant anything to him for the most part, but 'Terra' made his heart pump faster. That felt important; Really important. And he had no idea why, but wanted to find out. He wasn't sure if he'd want to exactly crash the party with Four-Arms on the throne though, and simply kept his questions to himself.

"T-Then what do we do?" Marche questioned, blinking.

"The best we can do is wait and see what he has to say. Worst comes to worst, I'll fight with ya." Zidane replied, confidently as he patted Marche on the shoulder, trying to get him to relax a little. Zidane was a bit on edge personally, but didn't like seeing other people stressed out: So he'd keep a smile the best he could, for this poor sap's sake. He was curious about what the creature would tell them, but wasn't willing to be the one to exactly attempt to strike up conversation with it. That sounded like a dumb idea.

"Just keep quiet." Zidane suggested, staring ahead.

"Oh, phooey!" Kefka spat, irritated as he crossed his arms, lightly levitating above the ground. He had been having so much fun: Firing lasers, blowing up towns, killing pathetic mortals and using their flesh to create new demonic life; And dealing with... Eh... Something or other. He recalled being extremely angry at a bunch of people, but figured they must've not mattered much if he forgot. Most of his memories consisted of flaming destruction, and the screams of those pathetic enough to get in his way.

Glancing about, Kefka wasn't sure what was up with the crowd; They looked like a bunch of posers! He could, however, sense a large amount of magic from certain individuals in the group; And this made him interested in what exactly was going on here. Especially giving that he couldn't even sense that four-armed beast that sat on a throne in front of them. Did he think he was in charge of someone as great as Kefka? That he had the right to just summon him here?

"You have a very short amount of time to explain yourself, before I begin dropping meteors atop your skull!" Kefka shouted violently, making a bit of a scene. He landed on his feet, walking in front of the group with an irritated expression. He had no issues with frying this entire pathetic group to a crisp if they got in his way; And he'd especially fry this beast for thinking it had any right to boss him around! It was just asking to be slaughtered like the pig it resembled!

"Jeez, make more of a scene, will ya?" Zidane spoke up, rolling his eyes at the jester's threats.

Turning half-way, Kefka quickly removed a knife from his sleeve, gesturing it towards Zidane with anger. "Watch your tongue before I cut it off and replace it with that idiotic tail of yours!" He threatened, this group already not getting along.

Marche just stepped back somewhat; Unsure of if he'd bump into someone or not. He was just trying to get away from the conflict...

Emperor Mateus/Exdeath

`Who dares to summon me...!?` Exdeath thought to himself as he appeared within an unknown realm alongside others who seemed to hold darkness within them, immediately observing the conflict ensuing between a few of those currently present.

The fellow who looked like a clown certainly seemed to have something of an attitude, even if Exdeath could definitely relate to the offense of having his business interrupted by this unwanted summoning. He had almost completed his goals, having already obtained the power of the Void and taken command of the Demons of the Rift. He had also managed to previously finish off one of his longest persisting enemies, as the final blow to Galuf had been dealt once and for all. He suspected that the Warriors of Light would soon appear to face him, but this uncalled for teleportation had gotten in the way of that inevitable confrontation. Nevertheless, he seemed unable to recall certain details that had taken place lately, or what exactly he had been doing when this summoning happened -- things felt somewhat hazy.

One of the younger ones present seemed to be egging the clown on as well, and another seemed too cowardly to do much of anything. Why had Exdeath been summoned alongside these wretches? He was far beyond these insects, so the being that looked like a demon had a lot to answer for. At this very moment, Exdeath's plans for the world had been put on hold for this charade, but the very existence of this realm he now found himself in meant that he had potentially set his sights too low -- there was another plane outside of the two worlds he knew of and the Void, meaning he had now found another place that needed to fall under his power.

"I suggest you all surrender to me immediately, for the very power of the Void is under my command! Whoever you may be, you are but mere insects compared to me!" Exdeath spoke with his usual selfish and loud-mouthed aura.

`How laughable... These fools are like children...` Mateus, Emperor of Palamecia, contemplated internally as he observed the events occurring within the room around him, almost finding it hilarious how perfectly everything was falling into place.

"Come now -- cast your bravados aside for a moment, and take a look around you!" The Emperor spoke, his sceptre floating just barely outside the reach of his hand as he stepped forward, "Do these events that transpire before you not even slightly peak your interests? The worlds from which we came have just been proven to be naught but tiny ponds in the vast ocean of reality... I, for one, find this all quite intriguing." he continued.

Part of what he said was a lie, but there was no way any present - not even Chaos - would be able to tell the difference. Emperor Mateus had spent so much time deceiving the powers that ruled worlds that he doubted anyone present would be able to see through his mask. Certainly, he wanted to showcase his dominion over the others present no differently than the more openly hostile members of their group did, but all good things came with patience. For now, he had a grander design in mind for everything that was taking place here, and no one would be any the wiser.

"I'm curious -- for what reason have you brought us all here? Perhaps it shall be in the best interests of everyone if you explain it, before the more juvenile members of this gathering find themselves unable to control their instincts?" Emperor Mateus spoke, almost with the presence of a royal chancellor.

The Emperor of Palamecia had a dignity about him that was unquestionable, and even though Exdeath wanted to immediately scold the man for his seemingly rude attitude towards them he found himself remaining silent. Something about this man was... strange -- he looked merely like an extravagantly dressed human despot, yet he had the confidence of someone who could overpower the gods and seemed incredibly wise. Somehow, that confidence did not seem unfounded either, so perhaps there were people in this room who Exdeath could see as equals -- maybe.

Cecil Harvey

`I'm not alone...?` Cecil thought to himself as he heard a voice - female from what he could tell - command him to stop where he was.

The first thought to cross Cecil's mind was the possibility that this could have been an enemy, but the fact that they were speaking his language meant that reasoning with them was not out of the question even if they were hostile. The words that followed completely changed light of the situation though, as the stranger had confirmed the name of his location and also told him it was a fallen city -- Cecil had been right to assume that this was essentially a ghost town. Furthermore, the tone of this woman's voice had a sadness to it that made her words sound personal, indicating she might have been a survivor of whatever destroyed this land or at the very least had lost someone or something important to her due to its destruction.

`'Burmecia'...? I've never heard of such a place, even in all the time that Cid and I spoke of travelling the world by airship... and in all the time that I led the Red Wings... not once has this name been spoken...` he thought, contemplating, but he also knew that he had been asked why he was here and needed to reply.

Turning to face the woman who had spoken to him, Cecil's eyes widened slightly for only a moment at the sight of her appearance. An anthropomorphic rat that could even speak the human tongue? Was such a thing even possible? The immediate verdict would obviously have to be that what was standing in front of Cecil now was clearly some sort of monster, and yet in spite of this Cecil's eyes did not seem to hold any judgement in them despite the initial shock of Freya's appearance. There was something in this being's eyes that was too human for him to look passed -- sadness, emotion, and a soul. That on its own could set her apart from all of the monsters that Cecil had faced in his life. If he knew nothing else about her, that still would have been enough for him to not raise his sword against her. Besides, what right did he - one who had walked the path of the Dark Knight - have to pass judgement on this creature - on this woman - of whom he had seen commit no sin?

`A true Paladin... will sheath his sword...` Cecil thought in reflection.

His weapon had been out as he moved through this city, admittedly because he considered the possibility of a monster attacking him at any moment. While this stranger in front of him was armed too, she did not appear to be taking a combat stance. Honestly, she had every right to think he might have been a hostile element with the way he was moving through - what could only be presumed to be - her homeland or a place of significance to her. Slowly, Cecil sheathed his holy sword and took a calm posture as he faced her. The distance between them was not significant enough that - even if she had superhuman speed - he would be unable to draw his weapon before she moved in for an attack, but he also sensed no threat from her presence. All he was sensing was sadness, and an apparent feeling that he had somehow intruded on her territory. Which begged the question of where on earth he was. There was no 'Burmecia' in his world to the best of his knowledge, nor creatures anything like this woman. It was as if he had been teleported to another world.

"You must forgive me..." Cecil spoke gently to avoid alarming the woman, "It was not my intention to come here uninvited. Actually, I've no knowledge of how I even got here..." he continued, thinking of the best way to explain himself, but deciding that it was better to tell the truth even if it was rejected. "I awoke in this place, with no memories of how I arrived... My name is Cecil Harvey, and I hail from the Kingdom of Baron. If you could direct me to my homeland, I'll take my leave without causing your city any further discomfort." he said earnestly, without a single hint of hesitation or deceit in his voice -- his eyes burning with a resolve that was unyielding.

This is..the Cave that connects Baron to Mist. Why do I find myself here? Kain thought to himself as he recognized his surroundings. His memory was pretty fuzzy, but these surroundings evoked the memory..because of Cecil, his good friend. At the time, the two of them were trying to deliver the Carnelian Signet to Mist..they had to slay the Mist Dragon to proceed to Mist.

He remembered Mist, set ablaze by the signet, which was actually a bomb..those poor people didn't deserve that. He remembered a little girl..but his memory started getting fuzzy from there. Regardless, he didn't wish to travel to Mist, as it probably wasn't where Cecil was.

Kain decided he would travel to Baron. Knowing the cave well, he began making his way through the cave. Along the way, he spotted an old man just up ahead, looking a bit wary of his surroundings.

"Excuse me, sir? would you happen to be lost? this cave is close to the Kingdom of Baron, and it runs to the town of Mist. Where do you wish to go? I am well-traveled, so perhaps I could point you in the right direction." Kain said to Galuf, offering his assistance. The Dragoon looked at the old man, who was dressed a bit strangely. He couldn't really pinpoint the man's Kingdom of origin.

He certainly wasn't from the Kingdom of Baron, or the ghost town of Mist, Kain knew that much.

Layle wasn't really sure what was going on, but he knew he wasn't home. "Yo! is anybody out here?" Layle called out into the desolate forest. No response at all, just complete silence. "Man, this totally bites." Layle said to himself with a sigh. Just then, an idea popped into his head. Perhaps, if he used his Bearer abilities to toss a tree in the air, someone would come and investigate.

After all, he'd likely die out here without any food. Layle went up to a tree, using his gravity-telekinesis to lift a tree into the air, and then tossed it several feet upwards, up into the sky and above the forest. It slammed back onto the forest floor with a resounding thud, causing Layle to jump back a bit.

"Okay, let's see if that caught someone's attention." Layle said to himself. If it didn't work, he would just find another way out. His abilities afforded him many benefits, but he figured if someone was nearby it'd be easier to just let them know he was there too. "Where the heck am I, anyway?" Layle said to himself, looking around.

This area just wasn't familiar to him at all. His memory was a bit fuzzy, he vaguely remembered something about doing a job for a Lilty Commander named Jegran..but he couldn't remember WHY he was doing it. Did this forest give you amnesia or something? that was a scary thought.

"UTTER. NONSENSE." Jegran aggressively yelled at Exdeath, trying to override him immediately and establish his own dominance. "You dare speak to the Lilty High Commander in that manner, you worm?" Jegran said to Exdeath, his voice full of venom. "You cannot even begin to comprehend the full extent of the power I wield, so I suggest you quiet yourself, before you make a mistake that will be your LAST." Jegran declared. Jegran then turned to the Emperor.

"And as for you, if this really is another world as you so boldly claim, I suggest you also shut your mouth. Your pretentious attitude is insufferable. I have no reason to hold back in another world, and I have no patience to suffer fools such as yourself." Jegran said bitterly. "I demand to return to where I belong at once." Jegran said to Chaos. "I care not for why I am here, as whatever it is, is less important then my own plans." Jegran said.

Chaos/Kefka/Zidane/Marche
(Past) Edge of Madness

"S i l e n c e!"

Chaos' voice rang through the head of every individual before him; All four of his fists clenched as he crossed his arms, staring down at these foolish warriors. They acted like children; They were almost irritating enough that he didn't want them, regardless of their power: It wasn't too late to wipe the slate clean of these pathetic pawns and just do everything himself. Though he knew that he'd perish, doing such a thing. So he'd have to tolerate them. For now.

"I would suggest you mind yourselves." Chaos said, tone calm. "No matter how major you see your own struggles as, they are nothing compared to the battle before you. Some of you think highly of yourselves; As gods, ascended beings... But here, you are not as high on the scale as you once assumed."

"Are you implying for yourself to be stronger than me?!" Kefka questioned, before bursting out into laughter; That's hilarious! He thought he was anything compared to the God of Magic himself? Kefka would wipe the floor with Chaos and take over this show for himself if he pleased! Kefka was about to speak again, even having raised a hand in correction momentarily, but was cut off as Chaos began again;

"I never simply imply, jester." Chaos corrected, glaring downwards at his pawns. "While I am strongly against it, I could crush every bone in your body with ease; And squeeze out all of that precious magic as you hopelessly watch." Chaos threatened Kefka with the same voice he used casually; Not treating the jester as anything more than a fly in his domain.

Kefka's hand fell. "... Well, then." He muttered, noting the magic inside Chaos was immense; Maybe he had some idea of what he was talking about. Kefka didn't feel like getting into an all-out battle between himself and whoever decided to side with this fool. While he wasn't one to take orders, he'd listen for the moment. He didn't like it though.

"This could extend to those who wish to join him." Chaos added, towards Jegran in particular.

Zidane held back a laugh, but let a small snicker escape. "Pfft. You guys got in trouble." He whispered to himself, amused.

"Now, if you are done being loudmouthed fools..." Chaos shifted his head; Ready to address one of the more interesting individuals he had picked; Mateus. Not only a strong individual in his own right, he always was the easiest to string along. "You have been brought here for a simple purpose; To fight against light. Beyond those that wish to strike you down in your small worlds, true Light exists here in the form of an entity known as Cosmos."

Shifting his form, one of his hands rests upon the hilt of his blade. "Cosmos' light reaches to many places, beyond what you may be able to understand. Her light gifts those who seek to stop your plans, whatever they might have been, with enough power to overcome you; Against what seems to be all odds."

"'Light' is actually sounding really tough right now..." Zidane quietly spoke to himself, considering what the beast said. Who'd want to stop him, anyways? And from what? This whole 'Terra' business in his head was all he could think of; Who would want to prevent him from saving whatever that was? Someone dastardly, or was it more complicated than that? Zidane was more confused than before, but figured whatever was trying to stop him from figuring out what was happening in his head needed to be defeated at all costs. Otherwise this would just keep bothering him forever.

Marche, while not as much of a talker as the rest of the boastful group around him, was thinking about everything. If what this being said was true, then that would mean that this 'Cosmos' was a power possibly aiding in the prevention of him going home. Just like Ritz and Mewt, and even his own brother, Doned... They aimed to stop him from restoring their home, and this being wished to do the same? He'd done so much just to try and stop everyone's dream; To wake them up and restore his home. He just wanted to go back; Go to school, get in a snowball fight. See his mother.

Why did it have to be so complicated?

"So if we defeat this Cosmos," Marche spoke up; Being the first to address Chaos' words. "What will happen?"

Chaos stared down at the boy; Expression not shifting. "If Cosmos is defeated, we all benefit. Without Cosmos' light; All of our goals can be met; Whatever they may be."

"Even... Restoring a world?" Marche questioned, hopeful.

Chaos' nodded slowly. "Once Cosmos is slain, anything is possible if your will is powerful enough."

Kefka laughs loudly, one hand on his gut; Another over his eyes. He reels back momentarily, before removing the hand from his face and looking at Marche. "'Restore'?! Pathetic! Once this 'Cosmog'-"

"Cosmos," Zidane corrected.

"Whatever it's called!" Kefka shouted, spit flying from his mouth and landing onto the ground in front of him. "Once that pest is slain, I'll destroy everyone left in my World of Ruin... Before finding and destroying your world next!"

"D-Destroy? You want your world destroyed?" Marche questioned, eyes wide. Just who was he working with, here?

Kefka calmed down, ever so slightly; But stared at Marche like he was an idiot. "Of course! There is no value in life! Everything ends; I'm just speeding up the clock!" He explained it without hesitation, turning to face away from Marche. "There is no value in life. So why should it exist? I'll destroy everything! Starting for a second time with this 'Cosmos'!"

"Jeez, one-track minded." Zidane quipped, sighing.

"It is not as simple as destroying Cosmos, jester." Chaos intervened. "Just as I have summoned all of you, Cosmos has summoned Warriors of Light; Those who will fight for her. If you wish to defeat Cosmos, all of them must be eliminated. Do keep in mind while you might think of yourselves as able to accomplish this task easily, that Light can triumph when you least expect it; Leaving you as nothing but corpses that fill this realm."

"So there's going to be a lot of fighting." Marche responded, seeming a bit saddened.

"Indeed." Chaos said, confirming Marche's thoughts.

"Alright then!" Zidane spoke up, getting himself a bit riled for the battle ahead. "If these guys are in the way, we'll swat 'em! Nothing is going to stop me from figuring out what I need to." Zidane seemed to be on board; If only for personal reasons. But nobody was truly loyal to Chaos; At least Zidane thought so. Everyone would surely be in it for themselves.

Kefka, though still infuriated, confirmed his agreement. "It means there's more of them to fry; I'll gladly kill every last warrior 'Cosmos' has! It will be a good warm-up for finishing off a planet or two!"

"I..." Marche paused, unsure of what to say. He wasn't promising anything; These guys seemed to be trouble. Was this right? This 'Cosmos' was seeking to stop him from going home- Or at least, aiding in him not going home; So it was right to stop Cosmos and her Warriors for that, right? He was doing all of this for a good reason; So working with these... Individuals, would probably work out.

But why was he struggling to agree so much? Marche just wasn't sure if this was right.

Freya Crescent

Freya eyed the warrior cautiously; His change of expression as their eyes met surprising her, somewhat. He'd never seen a Burmecian before, or something? That was hard for Freya to even think; As after the city they stood in was destroyed, Burmecians began spreading over the entire planet like... Literal rats. Maybe he just hadn't expected one of the Burmecians to actually remain in the city, or was surprised she was armed? It truly didn't matter, but she thought about what the true answer was as she stood there, silently.

"...?"

Behind the hair that fell into her eyes, Freya blinked at the sight of the man sheathing his weapon. He hadn't even requested she do the same; Which meant that he was, quite possibly, actually here peacefully. She calmed down, somewhat; The back-end of her spear against the ground as Freya continued to keep a firm grip; Just in case he pulled anything. Something about him kept her from being too nervous, however; Maybe it was some natural gift for him, or something he'd learned to do... Regardless, it existed; And while Freya didn't offer a smile, she did show relief as she released a deep breath she had taken.

Her ears twitched at his gentle voice; Surprising, from a man who looked like he could evenly take on some of the finest knights in her lands. Listening to his small tale, Freya's head tilted somewhat, unsure of what he was saying. Baron...? Such a kingdom did not exist on Gaia; Freya knew that much. It was strange; Oddly enough, Freya had no knowledge of how she had gotten to Burmecia, either. Or of much else, honestly. It was frustrating, though she didn't express it aside from a minor tone crack.

Shifting lightly, Freya took a moment to reply. "Baron...?" She repeated, not sensing a hint of deceit in his voice; He was serious, wasn't he? Wherever he was from, it was far beyond Freya's knowledge. "I have never heard of this place. 'Baron'." She replied, firm but not aggressive. "I apologize, Cecil." She added, apologetic tone leaking ever so slightly.

Looking up again at the rain, she blinked. Everything was the same; But it felt... Different. The air tasted odd. It wasn't the fresh air from the rain she was used to. It was... Stale. Almost not worth trying to choke on; Compared to the usual freshness. What was this oddity in these ruins? Ones she was, through and through, familiar with? Did it have something to do with this man? Or did it go deeper than that? It was irritating not knowing.

"It's rude to just let someone else give you their name, isn't it?" Freya questioned, not really waiting for an answer as she stood there, in the rain, continuing to speak: "I am Freya Crescent. Dragoon of Burmercia." She glanced about, for a moment. These lifeless ruins held nothing for her; Everything she cared for had been gone for a long time. Perhaps 'former' would be a good word to add to the front of that title; She had abandoned for her own reasons, after all. Such petty, emotional reasons.

"So what can you tell me? About your kingdom?" Freya questioned, figuring maybe he meant somewhere more reasonable than a Kingdom that didn't exist. Some details would perhaps help clear things up a little. Because as of right now, neither of them would be getting anywhere. Freya intended to leave this place behind once again, after this interaction was over. This wasn't truly home anymore.

Galuf Halm Baldesion
Mist Cave

"Eh?"

Galuf blinked, looking at the man who was greeting him; Baron? That wasn't a familiar kingdom. Not in the First World, or the Second One which he resided in. Same went for Mist, whatever that was; Aside from actual Mist. Galuf disliked it. "Baron? Never heard of it!" Galuf exclaimed, with complete honesty. Just where the heck was he, anyways? Judging by his outfit, this youngster was a Dragoon; Galuf was only able to figure this out due to the powers granted by the Crystals; One of which had allowed Faris to become one for a time. His armor was a lot less skimpy, but that being said, he wasn't a cute girl; So he preferred his armor the way it was.

"And I should know my kingdoms! Considering I myself am the King of Bal-" He paused, thinking for a moment. "Actually, I believe I'm 'Former' king now, considering the fact I... Well, died! I believe my granddaughter is the queen now." He spoke rather casually about having passed away; Seeming to not be concerned about it. The fact he was here, and alive, was probably making him look like a madman; Though Galuf had been known for being crazy anyways, just not... Coo-Coo in the head crazy.

Ritz had been marching along hopelessly; Not managing to get anywhere. With an irritated sigh, she lowered her map and looked up at the sky beyond the trees; Irritated. "If there's a way out, just give me a sign or something!" She shouted at the sky; Eyes widening as she saw it; A tree! In the air! She gasped, and winced as the tree crashed into the ground; Somewhere slightly west of her current location.

"Well if that wasn't a sign, I don't know what is!" Ritz said with excitement, beginning to walk towards the crash site of the tree. It couldn't have been too far, with how loud the tree had been. But what could have thrown it? That worried Ritz somewhat, but she knew she could take care of herself; So it wasn't overly worrying.

As she trekked, Ritz remained cautious; She kept a hand close to her Rapier, for the sake of not getting surprised. Whatever she found at that tree, she'd be ready for it. She was somewhat on edge as she approached the crash site carefully; Staying fairly quiet.

Emperor Mateus/Exdeath

`... 'High Commander'...? Is this mongrel serious? Does he truly believe such a boast is worthy of the attention of beings who are practically gods?` Emperor Mateus thought to himself, not so much vexed by the manner which Jegran spoke to him, but rather entertained, `The fact that he has gazed upon my radiant visage, and yet still fails to comprehend my power... Such an uncultured cur.` he thought, his eyes not even seeming to change as Jegran threatened him. Something about the way Mateus presented himself almost made it look as though death could do nothing to him.

Mateus was about ready to look down his nose at this barbarian and tell him everything he had just been thinking, since doing so would hardly get in the way of his machinations, but then the entity known as Chaos did the work for him. Emperor Mateus could not help but smirk a little as Chaos proceeded to scold all of the loudmouthed dogs for their delinquent behaviour, and managed to maintain a calm composure about the fact that Chaos had not addressed him with any form of hostility. Things were already perfectly proceeding according to plan -- even Chaos was a piece for Mateus to move across the board to his ultimate agenda. Not a single piece on the board was outside of his control in the end, and it was only a matter of time before the stakes grew higher for all of them.

During the conversation that followed, Mateus payed little attention to the antics between Kefka and Zidane; in fact, in his mind he could feel nothing but disdain for these imbeciles -- one of them too drunk on destruction to be anything more than a psychopathic man-child, and the other a wisecracking punk who seemed to have no real clue about anything. He could tolerate them though, because in the end he only had his grand design in mind. Actually, as he listened to the discussion between everyone, he was already contemplated the best way to use all of these fools. He was confident that the jester could be manipulated through his obsession with destruction, while the older of the two boys seemed too headstrong for direct manipulation but could be manipulated through his seemingly ignorant nature. The others could likely be manipulated through their egos, with the exception of the younger boy -- who almost seemed too timid to be amongst the current group.

"Nonsense -- there is none alive who can destroy me!" Exdeath boasted cockily - primarily in response to the claim that the light could threaten him - as the tip of his sword remained firmly in the ground as he held the end of its hilt, "My power is unmatchable! All this revelation has presented is the knowledge that there are more than two worlds for me to turn into realms of desolation... The power of the Void is infinite!" he continued, "I shall humour your claims... Present an opponent to me, and I will show you that they possess not a single hope of overcoming my power!" he added, being on board with the idea of defeating this 'Cosmos' entity but considering the notion that it would be a challenge laughable.

The Emperor of Palamecia was ignoring Exdeath's posturing and would continue to ignore any further bravado from the others, since he could destroy all these fools when the pieces were in check. For now, he would focus on winning the favour of Chaos to gain more advantage over the others; in fact, he would be gaining an advantage in more than one way, though no one would even realize any of it was happening. At this point, Mateus had been paying close attention to Marche's behaviour, noticing his hesitation and sensing an... innocence... in him. Innocence was an interesting thing -- so easily it could be corrupted into raw darkness. There were very few things in the world more malevolent than the raw cruelty of an ignorant child, as it was a form of evil that was unaware that it was evil.

Walking passed the others, Emperor Mateus stepped close to Marche and addressed the boy. Now that the two were closer, Marche would likely be incapable of failing to notice that the Emperor of Palamecia was almost radiantly beautiful -- he had a visage which very much resembled that of an angel. Speaking to the boy almost like a grand king would when addressing a commoner, the Emperor of Palamecia's tone was surprisingly merciful sounding and subtle. He was not so much overbearing, but rather he almost came across like a lord who was showing benevolence to his subjects.

"Tell me -- what is your name...?" Mateus spoke, "Fear not -- you and I are not enemies." he continued, his words showing no sign of the sinister soul beneath them. This boy was young, naΓ―ve -- there was no way he could possibly be able to see through the serpent's lies as the apple of Eden was fed to him.

Firion

`This place... I wonder if I've gone to Purgatory...` Firion thought as he continued to navigate his way through the mist-filled cave that seemed to go on endlessly, sometimes finding himself almost losing his bearings and struggling to keep himself from falling to one knee.

While Firion was unable to pinpoint the reason, he found himself almost feeling as though he was on the verge of death. By the time he was up and moving about, he had already confirmed that the wounds he received at the hands of those imperial soldiers were completely gone, so there was no physical explanation for why he felt - for lack of a better way of putting it - as though his life force was hanging on by a single thread, almost as if it was only his willpower keeping him going. It was as though his very soul had been wounded, and he found himself unable to figure out why -- unless he truly had passed on to the next world and this was how one naturally felt in Purgatory, that is. He was starting to wonder if he would wander like this forever, but the fact that he was alone made him wonder if his friends had survived -- he truly hoped they were well, with every fibre of his being.

"Maria! Leon! Guy!" Firion called out suddenly, despite having problems breathing. It was one last - ultimately futile - attempt to find the friends who had been right by his side until moments before he lost consciousness and woke up here.

He continued walking along the rocky pathway he had recently come across, until he eventually started getting the sensation that he was not alone -- not entirely sure why he was able to feel it. Somehow, he knew that people were just around the corner from him. Whether they were friend or foe, on the other hand, was something he had no way of knowing -- which created a noteworthy problem, because he had just called out the names of his friends and was most likely heard by those people. He had - for just a moment - considered the possibility that these people might actually be his friends, but they would definitely have recognized his voice and called back to him -- he knew them well enough to be sure of that. Unless something was preventing them from responding, which also concerned him. Quickly, his mind ignored the hesitation caused by the possibility that he was about to approach an enemy, and he rushed around the corner to make sure his friends were unharmed, having already drawn out his red sword.

`Who're they...? They could be the enemy... Be that as it may, I shouldn't provoke them needlessly...` Firion thought to himself as he found himself observing two complete strangers. Part of him wanted to keep his sword drawn, in case the people in front of him were an enemy, but he decided to sheath his sword -- from this distance, he would have time to draw if they attacked him anyway.

"My mistake... I thought you might be someone else..." Firion said calmly, no apparent hostility or deception in his voice, "I'm glad to find someone else here... Would you be able to tell me where we are?" he asked.

Cecil Harvey

`Never heard of Baron...? Could it be...?` Cecil thought to himself as he listed to the anthropomorphic woman's response to his question, `She's not lying... that much I can tell...` he confirmed internally as he tried to get a better grasp of the situation.

It was almost as if he truly had been teleported to another world, though there was not enough evidence yet to be certain -- still, it was a feeling inside of him that refused to persist. This world did not feel familiar to him at all. Not merely the landscape or the rain that never ceased, but something about the very 'aura' of this realm. It was a difficult feeling to express in words, but somehow Cecil was quickly coming to realize that this place was not his home, and that did not merely refer to the city he was currently standing in -- even if he left this place and went on to another territory, he got the distinct feeling that he would not feel like he was getting any closer to his home. He could not completely explain why he felt that way though.

`A 'Dragoon'...?` Cecil thought, and his mind resonated as the term triggered something very important to him, listening to her introduction and then considering her question carefully, realizing that it was perhaps the perfect opportunity to find out if the 'feeling' he had wrenching inside of him was on the mark. Surely someone had to know of Baron, especially when they appeared travelled like this Freya person did.

"My homeland, the Kingdom of Baron, is an eight-hundred year old monarchy. It is known as one of the most powerful nations in the world, as well as for its innovations concerning the development of airships in recent years..." Cecil explained, taking only a very brief moment - hardly enough time for her to speak before he continued - to contemplate another question, even if it really was grasping at straws in his mind, "You called yourself a Dragoon... Would you know a man by the name of Kain Highwind...? He's a long-standing friend of mine, and is also a Dragoon... I'm currently unsure of his whereabouts..." he continued, a few memories clouding his mind as vague visions were coming back to him.

That was right -- his friend... the man known as Kain Highwind, had actually betrayed him recently.

`Kain...` Cecil thought to himself, his heart becoming heavier for a moment as his eyes gained a more melancholy light to them.

There was Rosa too -- he had no idea where she was. The gentle and strong-willed woman who had chosen to love him despite the sin that stained his hands, and the woman who believed in him even when he had faltered and allowed himself to give into weaknesses that were not part of his true nature. He had rejected her - feeling unworthy of her love - and called himself a coward, yet she turned around and told him the truth. The man she loved, Cecil Harvey, was no coward. He would never submit, and he would never whimper. He was strong, and her belief in him was one of the reasons he had remembered that as he decided to go against the orders of his lord that he knew were evil, and as he finally took hold of the holy blade and grasped his true nature as a Paladin. He wanted her to see him now that he had cast aside his Dark Knight sword and armour, yet he could not recall if she ever actually did see him as he was now. His memories were hazy beyond the point of his awakening, and now that he found himself in this place it felt as though the darkness of his past could consume him again at any moment.

`I want to see you again, Rosa...` he reflected sincerely in his mind. That feeling was the only thing that kept him going sometimes -- the only light that he truly had to look forwards in the darkness that surrounded his life. He was too ashamed to hold her in his arms when she was in front of him, and now - as he found himself standing in this place that he believed to be another world - she was out of his reach completely. Still, he wanted to gaze at her again, and feel the warmth of her light.

Terra Branford

"Mmmm...?" Terra stirred, a massive thud resonating through the forest and breaking her slumber like a prince from a fairy tale.

Perhaps under normal circumstances she would have been woken up far more harshly, being completely startled by such a noise, but she was virtually in a state resembling coming back to life from a near death -- she was hardly in a normal state of mind or body right now, so the fact that she woke up slowly was not entirely unusual. Slowly, the tender girl opened her eyes, wondering where she was. Unfortunately, she seemed to have almost no memory at all for some reason. It was a strange feeling, because somehow this situation was giving her an unusual sense of dΓ©jΓ  vu -- an odd feeling for someone with amnesia to have.

"Terra..." she said to herself in a soft voice that was somewhere between beautiful and cute.

Her name was Terra Branford -- she knew that much, and she also knew that she was not 'normal'. She was capable of a power called 'Magic', which humans were not supposed to possess. A lot of her powers seemed to be eluding her right now, but she nevertheless could feel that she could cast magic if she wanted to. Turning her head gentle to the side, Terra noticed a sword near her, and somehow she understood that it was her sword -- she did not know how to use a sword though; in fact, the idea of harming another being... frightened her... even disturbed her. These feelings almost made her feel ill as she reached over to take hold of the sword, but as she touched it, Terra could feel her magic power growing stronger. Was this why she kept the sword -- to enhance her magic? So it was not because she was a killer. What a relief.

Suddenly, Terra's peaceful moments of reflection were interrupted by what sounded like another person closing in on her location. She immediately recoiled back against the tree, almost like a cornered kitten that had been scared by something. She was unsure why she was even so scared, or what had happened to her that would make her feel so on edge like that, but once she saw that the approaching stranger was a young girl it calmed her nerves somewhat. Still, she was not entirely relaxed -- she had already managed to notice the rapier the girl was carrying. She stayed quiet, wondering if the girl would just pass her by without causing any trouble. Right now it was bothering her that she felt as though she somehow should have been able to sense things around her better than she was, but there was no way to understand why she felt so disorientated.

ο»Ώ"Never heardΒ of Baron?Β how vexing. And a King of his own Kingdom, no less." Kain noted. "This doesn't bode well." Kain took notice that Galuf made known he had died. Pausing a second, he was curious if it was rational to trust in this old man. An aged man with outlandish garments who alleges to have moved on, didn't recognize what Baron was, and declaredΒ to be a King.

It was a remarkable series of events. But, no more unusual than Kain wakeningΒ in Mist Cave without cause, he reckoned. "Well, seeing as you are royalty set asunder from his Throne, as a Knight I must put forth a proposition. I am setting out to the Kingdom of Baron myself, to trackΒ my companion, Cecil. BaronΒ and I are not on ideal termsΒ but as I amΒ cut off from Cecil, I am confident this will be the most advisable course of action to adopt." Kain pointed out. "If you please, you could go onΒ withΒ me. Wherever you come from, it's likely faraway from hither." Kain offered.

"I am Kain, commander of the Dragoons of Baron." Kain said, introducing himself. "My associate, Cecil, is the former Captain of the Red Wings, Baron's airship fleet." Just then, after Kain introduced himself to Galuf, he saw Firion, hearing of his plight. ο»Ώ"You find yourself in good company, friend. This is Mist Cave, and the path you find yourself on right now will lead you to the wilderness. Nearby is the Kingdom of Baron." Kain explained.

"On the opposite end, if you had proceeded the way you came from, Β you'd be in the town of Mist after proceeding through the wild. I was inviting this fellow right here to join me on my way to Baron, to search for my Companion, Cecil. Will you accompany me, good sir? the more the merrier." Kain asked Firion.

ο»Ώο»Ώ"HELLO!!! I THREW A TREE INTO THE AIR, ISN'T ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION?!" Layle yelled out at the top of his lungs. He remained for at least three or four minutes, and he saw not a single trace of movement towards his way. "This forest is so empty." he remarked to himself. Giving up on his present plan, he settled upon walking and hoping to come across somebody.

As he went on, the young man contemplated the meaning behind his missing memories to himself. When he attempted to think of what occurred before, his brain drew up blanks besides hazy recollections. "Did I have any friends?" he inquired. He acknowledged he was forgetting important people, but he merely recalled that Commander Jegran.

ο»ΏWhy did he take Jegran's job offer? try as he might to remember, it did not come to him. Maybe a friend of his connected to the job? nothing came to mind. At the least, Layle remembered himself, which was important.

Layle had the distinct feeling that this land wasn't his own. Although this forest was unremarkable, the landscape itself didn't look to be a place he recognized. It was strange how he appeared with no cause.

As Layle walked, he wondered what towns and Kingdoms he'd find. He imagined new races of people, different cultures, and good food. Who cares what he did beforehand? this could be fun.

ο»Ώο»ΏJegran only listened to Chaos for his own gain. When the opportunity arose, he'd crush everyone here. If Chaos was right, slaying Cosmos' warriors' benefited him.

Jegran wondered if that Crystal Bearer child was among Cosmos' fighters'. If so, Β he could slay him without consequence. Β His plans were to be much easier to enact with him vanquished.

"I've been too hasty. If I am to carry out my own ends, I suppose you've made a good point. I see no one I recognize here. But I don't doubt this Cosmos' summoned that annoying brat to stand in my way." HeΒ spoke with anger, clenching his fist. "I am chosen. Picked by the Crystal Principle to rule over everything and everyone. NoneΒ shallΒ obstruct me, including that wretched child." Jegran proclaimed.

Jegran addressed Chaos. "Let's begin the hunt. Set us against our foes, and we will eradicate them." He said with a wicked grin on his face.

(Past) Edge of Madness

"...!"

Marche became more alert as Mateus approached him; Unsure of what the tall figure would do, giving the natures of those around them. He kept his hand from his blade, not wanting to threaten such an individual; Especially since they seemed to, at least for now, be on the same side. As the man stood before him, Marche loosened up a little; His voice seemed sincere enough, though the last encounter he had with someone so regal, he had almost been imprisoned: So remaining somewhat nervous was to be expected on his part.

While Marche wasn't ready to explain his own situation to Mateus, he wasn't going to silently ignore the man's question: He appeared strong enough to wipe him out without much of a thought; So angering him wasn't ideal for Marche's lifespan. Beyond the madmen in armor, and the jester who threatened to destroy worlds; The one who stood before him was such an odd difference; Similar to how he was. But for two entirely different reasons.

"It's Marche." The boy answered, not having much else in the way of information to give: If Marche was right, this world wasn't real, either: Just like Mewt's dream world, this place had him trapped. Or was this some extension of Mewt's world created to dispose of him? The thought was discouraging and harmful, but the boy wasn't going to give up: He'd get himself and his friends home, despite the challenges they made him go through to do so.

Which gave Marche more thoughts; What if everyone here was from his Ivalice? From that small snowy town he had moved to before being brought to this place? It was odd to think that many of these individuals could be people he knew in real life, except completely altered by Mewt's perceptions. But if someone like that jester existed in his world, he hoped it was in jail; The boy couldn't imagine such a psychopath in his peaceful home, and noted to look into it after the town was restored.

'At least we aren't enemies...' Marche thought to himself, finding a sort of comfort in Mateus stating this fact: The last real friend he had made was a Moogle by the name of Montblanc; And he wasn't around here anywhere. Marche planned to regroup with him as soon as possible; But for now, finding new comrades was ideal for survival.

Marche noted that everyone seemed to be on board with this fight now; They were like mercenaries hired to do the dirty work. Marche understood, mostly; He'd done a lot of work with his guild in a similar fashion; But was usually rewarded with money and equipment; Not such promises as restoring his world. That wasn't to say Marche wasn't going to try to make this work; If he could get his world back, he'd do it. Simple as that.

"... What do you seek from this oncoming battle, sir...?" Marche questioned, unsure of the man's name: It was perhaps a little rude to not ask; But he had a lot on his mind right now, so maybe it was understandable.

"So, where are these guys, anyway?" Zidane questioned, noting that this place they stood in was barren and empty aside from the current group. He wasn't exactly sure of where he was intended to go; Giving there were no signs of an opponent anywhere.

Chaos finally sat upon his throne again, seeming satisfied with the agreement of his pawns: If it was even for their own reasons, they would fight; And that meant this cycle could go in their favor if given enough of a chance. The complexes of those he chose were a bit worrying; But those egotistical mindsets would benefit them on the battlefield; He saw no reason to continue to correct them if they intended to fight.

"Cosmos has yet to make her move." Chaos stated plainly, unsure if it was her own cowardice, or a strategy to see who he would choose. Regardless, he expected nothing surprising; He was certain he'd see her choices soon, and that'd lead to the battle finally beginning.

Chaos began to address them again with a casual wave of his hand. "I have no intentions of micro-managing your actions. Once these Warriors of Cosmos appear, it will be your task to find and dispose of them across this realm." Chaos wasn't leading these fools by the hand; They could find the Warriors without being babysat; They surely worked more effective doing things their way. "I shall not limit your methods. Slay your opponents in whatever way you see fitting; Just ensure that the job is done, and Cosmos is left defenseless. You do not wish to know the fate of those who fall in this realm."

"So it's like a scavenger hunt for people who intend to kill us?" Zidane laughed at this realization; Managing to stop himself mere moments later. "That sounds like a LOT of fun." He added with heavy sarcasm; Not looking forward to having to hunt down his targets. Wherever they might have been. But if it was how it had to be, then so be it. He wondered just what kind of individuals he would encounter; This place was a real sausage fest; Maybe Cosmos would at least have a cutie or two on her side, huh?

Maybe that essence of light wouldn't look too bad, either.

"No restrictions?" Kefka said, amused. That was just the way he liked it; Being able to do what he wanted, HOW he wanted! Terrific! "I wouldn't humor any sort of restrictions you'd try to put on me anyways! By the time I'm done, this land will be but a wasteland of death and despair!" The maniac seemed pleased by the fact he could do what he wanted; And he was, as a matter of fact. He'd destroy every last inch of this world if it meant defeating his foes; By the time he was done, this place would be nothingness; Enough to make that void-raving fool shut his mouth, even!

"So how long do we wait?! This is one game I'd rather avoid; So get to the killing, already!" Kefka shouted impatiently, seeming to become a little annoyed by the fact they were still standing around.

"It will not be long," Chaos assured, glancing up towards the sky. If Cosmos retained any part of her mind at this point, she'd summon her warriors soon; He'd feel it when she did. Some of the more powerful of his pawns would surely notice it, as well.

Freya Crescent

Freya listened carefully to the man; Noting his words and trying to figure out a decent response. This "Baron" he spoke of; It was, for a fact, unfamiliar to her. What she found especially odd was the mentioning of airships; Nobody but the regent of Lindblum had managed such a feat, to her knowledge. The few airships that existed in the world were created by him and his ancestors; The fact another kingdom had airship development was astounding, if it were true. She curiously wondered to herself if the regent knew of this.

Though, along with his words of his homeland, came a question. About a Dragoon, much like herself; By the name of Kain. It was a name most unfamiliar to her; There were hardly any Dragoons in this day and age, and the name did not sound Burmecian in the slightest: She'd never heard of a Dragoon that was a hume, like this man. And he had made it obvious by the way his eyes observed her that he hadn't seen a Burmecian before. This man came from somewhere bizarre, that was for sure.

"I'm afraid I am unfamiliar with your friend: I have never heard of a Dragoon by that name." She responded as an answer to his question, disappointed she could not aid him in finding his companion. The idea of a Burmecian teaching a Hume their way of fighting was practically unheard of; Many Burmecians agreed that it'd cause them to have a disadvantage in the way of battle. Sadly, keeping their ways a secret didn't stop them from getting destroyed by mightier kingdoms with technology well beyond theirs. Thinking about it made her upset; Though she wouldn't visibly show it, as it had nothing to do with this man.

"Your kingdom," She began as a response to Cecil's short explanation of Baron. "- Is sadly unfamiliar to me in it's entirety. I cannot say I have traveled the entirety of our world; But I can tell you I have never heard of a place outside of the Kingdom of Lindblum that has any hands in Airship development. They have recruited a majority of the brilliant minds from across our world; To the point I find it hard to believe that another kingdom, especially one as powerful as yours apparently is, has the ability to develop airships without being noticed by other powers."

She wanted to help the man, but as of the moment it was difficult to really do anything. All she could really suggest was to go to a neighboring kingdom and search for answers: Though the trip would be tedious for one unfamiliar with the lands. Freya had no issue assisting him; She was wandering herself, and wasn't sure of why she was even in these ruins to begin with. Leaving as soon as possible was ideal to her.

She looked up as the sky as it crackled; A roar from the sky making it clear the ruins were tiring of their presence. After a course of action was figured out, she would depart as soon as possible. She knew that she wasn't welcome here, but wasn't going to be intimidated by the spirits of the fallen.

Even if their deaths weighed her down immensely.

Galuf Halm Baldesion
Mist Cave

Galuf kept a grin as Kain spoke; Seeming amused by his words. Quite a stiff individual, for seeming to be so young. The old man wasn't one to judge, however; He just found some things funny, even when others possibly wouldn't. Not that it mattered much, except when he gave others a hard time. It was all in good fun, regardless.

"It is kind of crazy, innit?" Galuf replied with a small laugh, not taking this too seriously. Doing so was bad for his health anyways. "But you've got it all right so far!"

Listening to Kain's offer; Galuf wasn't sure there were better options for him. He could get lost in these caves, or at least manage his way to a place where he could get some food and figure out his next move. "If we have a place to go, we should go! No point in standing around in this cold place getting sick." Galuf noted, listening to the man introduce himself.

Only to, moments later, hear someone else shouting. "Who's being so loud?" Galuf questioned, noticing Firion appear. Galuf was a tad wary due to him having his sword out, but blinked and stared at the boy for a moment due to him having a slight resemblance to a friend of his; It was, however, quite obvious this wasn't one of his companions; But Kain seemed to welcome him aboard all the same, so Galuf would do so as well.

"I agree; A group is always a safer way to travel!" Galuf seemed glad to have someone else along; It was just like Kain as said; The more the merrier. "Don't either of you go worrying about me, either. There's plenty of fight left in these bones." He assured, not wanting to have some kids looking after him; This place didn't seem safe as it was, they needed to keep themselves safe first and foremost.

Galuf blinked, realizing he hadn't introduced himself to these kids. "Apologizes to you, Kain! I seem to have lost my manners!" He spoke with an apologetic tone, but seemed to pass by that and just return to his surprisingly energetic self within seconds. "My name is Galuf Baldesion!" He looked towards Firion for a moment, hoping the boy might be able to help him ever-so-slightly. "Have you ever heard of this 'Kingdom of Baron'?" Galuf questioned, before adding: "Or the 'Kingdom of Bal'?"

As Ritz continued following the sound she had heard, she was surprised she hadn't heard anything else. She was starting to become suspicious; It wasn't a monster, she was guessing. Whatever did that sounded like a beast that'd continue destroying more: Was this someone luring her into a trap? She could only make assumptions as she continued along, making her way into a small opening in the trees; Noticing a slightly older girl by a tree.

Who, honestly, looked pretty scared, despite nothing noteworthy being around. "Hey!" Ritz called out; Trying to get her attention without being overly loud, in case whatever was out there could hear her. She noticed that she was armed, and raised her hands lightly to try and seem like someone who wasn't threatening. "I'm not here to fight, okay? I'm lost." She explained in a very short manner, glancing about. She kept a fair distance as she lowered her arms, map still gripped in her left hand. "Didn't you hear that crash? It's not safe to be wandering around in here-"

ο»Ώο»Ώ"HELLO!!! I THREW A TREE INTO THE AIR, ISN'T ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION?!"

Ritz cringed, turning towards the loud voice; Still a short ways off, but not far. "I was right." She hissed, wary that someone who was capable of throwing a tree in such a manner wandered nearby. She looked towards Terra; Unsure if the girl was oblivious, or some sort of stupid. But regardless, Ritz knew she couldn't just leave the girl practically stuck to that tree; Who knew why that annoyingly-pitched voice was throwing trees around?

"I don't know what that guy's problem is, but it'd be safer if we figure it out together." Ritz spoke firmly, survival being the most important thing to her right now. That guy was immensely strong, but if he was shouting at the top of his lungs, he was at the least maybe not very smart. What were the odds that this girl, that guy, and herself were ALL lost? Not likely, and call it sexist, but she was considering the tree-thrower to be the odd one out.

"Can you use that?" Ritz asked quietly, gesturing towards Terra's sword. Hopefully she could; Though she seemed kind of out of it, so perhaps she'd be no help at all in a fight. Regardless, Ritz kept alert; Eyes focused towards the trees, but occasionally glancing back at Terra in hopes of a decent response...

Emperor Mateus/Exdeath

`The 'Crystal Principle'...` Mateus thought to himself as he awaited the boy's response.

The Emperor of Palamecia's facial expression never changed in response to Jegran's mention of the word 'Crystal', but something was moving through his mind behind that poker face during the moments that went by afterwards -- something which his temporary allies were likely never to know the details of. No one could know what he knew - what he had come to understand - until the time was perfect, and he would allow this laughable masquerade ball to go on only until that moment.

Exdeath's expression regarding the mention of the word 'Crystal' would have been considerably more noticeable, if he actually had a visible face in the first place to show an expression. While he had far less reason to take note of this word than Mateus did, it was impossible for it not to take his notice given how the 'Crystals' were significant to his own world -- they had been responsible for the seals that held him in place, after all.

The man called Jegran had spoken as though the power that had chosen him was somehow an authority over his world and had granted him dominion, but this was meaningless to Exdeath. The power of the Void was unmatchable, and would eventually consume all of these insects; however, for the time being their existence would be useful to get rid of these enemies they were to face with Exdeath needing to waste less of his own effort for the task. That alone was why he chose not to open the Rift immediately and destroy everyone here.

`So -- Marche, is it? This boy will do...` Mateus thought to himself once Marche had introduced himself and followed up with a question. Everything was moving according to plan, and the Emperor of Palamecia was confident that he found another pawn for his board; in fact, he had been certain of it from the moment the boy had expressed his desires earlier. While Marche had not asked Mateus for his name, he simply chose to take it as a form of flattery - as if he was to great to give his name to a human - and the 'sir' had been sufficient. This boy would be far less insufferable than most of the others present.

"Dominion." Mateus responded bluntly, quite certain that he could word his intentions in a way that not only made him sound less malevolent than the others here but even make him sound noble, "In my own world, I am the Emperor of Palamecia; greatest of all powers in the land... Under our rule, the world knows true peace and justice. We are a bastion that safeguards the very foundation of society." he said, certain that even if Chaos or anyone else in the room was able to see through his lies - very doubtful, especially considering they knew nothing of the world he came from - that they would not interfere with his methods of turning the boy to the darkness, "However, there are anarchists out there who would challenge our rule for the sake of their own petty ends... Upon coming here, I have learned that this anarchy spreads even further -- thus, I will bring it under control." he continued, sounding rather sincere -- he wore a perfect mask, subtly manipulating those around him by invisible strings.

Looking at the boy, he wasted no time in working towards his ultimate ends, "I have a proposal for you..." Mateus spoke, still addressing the boy like a benevolent lord, "Why not aid me in my quest here...?" he said, metaphorically holding out the Fruit of Knowledge to the poor with a sort of 'all the kingdoms of the world shall I give onto thee' atmosphere, "In exchange, I will personally see that your world is restored, and ensure its eternal salvation... I shall also bestow upon you the power to face those you encounter in the coming war." he promised, listening to Chaos explained his intentions for their conduct afterwards -- finding amusement in how easily the creature was making this for him.

"The great Exdeath, reduced to a game of search fit for cretins?! Mwahahah -- rubbish!" Exdeath spoke in response to the notion that he would have to go out and find his enemies like some scavenger, "My minions will find these pitiful worms for me!" he stated. These words were not a request, but an outright fact in his eyes. Not that he needed to make a point to Chaos that he could not command him, since the beast had already said it would not control their methods, but his ego dictated that he make this clear either way.

Growing impatient now, Exdeath continued to speak, "This Cosmos had best not keep me waiting much longer... Let us destroy this world together!" he spoke to everyone present, "You may all seek dominance or destruction, but in the end everything you do is impotent -- everything returns to the Void in the end!" he continued, "Nothing is eternal!" he stated in response to those seeking to rule or protect, "Destruction only leads to the Void!" he stated to those who desired to destroy, such as the jester who would either sympathize with his words or take offense to them depending on how his mentality worked -- Exdeath could not care less which.

Mateus smirked, internally and intensely laughing within his hidden world of his mind, having turned his face from Marche's sight at this point, refusing to allow any to contemplate what was potentially going through his head. Everything was going according to plan -- truly, Mateus had to work hard to keep himself from laughing out loud.

Firion

`The 'Kingdom of Baron'...? 'Mist Cave'...?` Firion thought to himself, his expression changing momentarily to one of confusion.

His honesty made it somewhat difficult for him to hide the fact that he was unfamiliar with the names being given. Granted, he was not entirely familiar with his world, but something felt off about all of this. On the other hand, it appeared as though these men were actually friendly, so he at least needed not worry about having to defend himself from them. He was unlikely to let his guard down completely, given that deception lay in wait everywhere in this world. After watching his homeland of Fynn be destroyed, there was no way he could possibly be so naΓ―ve in his dealings of the world anymore. The real problem was how he got here -- to the best of his understanding he was dead, yet now it seemed as though he had been teleported somewhere while he was unconscious; however, it was also possible he was dreaming.

Firion was about to respond to the words of the initial man -- the one who had introduced himself as 'Kain' moments before, referring to himself as a 'Dragoon'. For some reason, this man known as Kain looked remarkably familiar to him, and term 'Dragoon' was something he recognized too. Hold on -- weren't 'Dragoons' a group of dragon riders who were wiped out by the Emperor of Palamecia for being too dangerous? Firion was certain of that somehow, but he found himself unable to recall why he knew that exactly. Still, his understanding seemed completely at odds with the story this man was giving right as he had rushed around the corner to encounter them, almost insinuating that he might have been sent into the past. Was that even possible? He thought it was best to simply ask the man earnestly; however, the older fellow started speaking before he had a chance to say anything.

`The 'Kingdom of Bal'...?` he internally questioned once again, not really looking any less perplexed than he had before.

"This is hard for me to say..." Firion started, figuring it would be best just to be honest with these men, "... but I really have no clue what either of you're talking about." he stated earnestly, "To the best of my knowledge, none of these places you're talking about exist. Until I encountered you both, I thought this was Purgatory..." he added, wondering if they would even be aware of such a term -- he could believe anything was possible at this point. "The last thing I remember was being wounded by imperial soldiers from the Empire of Palamecia... I thought I was dead, yet now I find myself here -- wherever 'here' is..." he pointed out. Surely these men had to know about the Empire of Palamecia.

Firion decided not to confirm or deny the decision for them to travel together until after they answered his words -- it was never if he not get ahead of himself here, especially since it was still confusing as to who these people were or what was going on. He did not sense anything inherently 'evil' in these men, and - if they would accept his assistance - he would certainly be willing to aid this Kain person in finding his companion -- the man known as 'Cecil'. Nevertheless, finding his own friends was his most important thought. He would not bring them up until he knew more about the two in front of him though. His expression gave no indication that he was refusing the offer to accompany them, but rather that he wanted to understand the situation -- being too hot-headed or thoughtless here would not help him.

Cecil Harvey

`I suspected it was probably for naught to ask her about Kain... Where on Earth am I...?` Cecil thought to himself.

The more this woman spoke to him, the more alien everything sounded. It literally felt like Cecil was in another world completely, and not only due to this mysterious woman who was clearly not human yet seemed human at the same time. Nothing short of 'alien' could describe the situation -- there was no other way to define it, and her further explanation about having never heard of Baron - alongside all of her details regarding this 'Kingdom of Lindblum' - only made him more certain that there was no way he could possibly still be on Earth. He did not feel as though he was dreaming, but then it could have been incredibly lucid. He also had no recollection of dying, so the chances that he had gone to the afterlife were highly unlikely. Putting his doubts aside regarding whether this place was real or not, he had just realized a way to confirm that he was definitely not in his own world.

"This 'Lindblum' -- I've not heard of it either... Cid Pollendina, a genius engineer, has been designing airships in Baron for years now." Cecil started, "I am - well, I was - the commander of the Red Wings, so I'm personally familiar with airships..." he explained, not bothering to go into what the 'Red Wings' meant because he had no doubt in his mind now that she would not have heard of that air force, and he was about to get to what he really wanted to say. He only spoke those words in order to make it clearer that he was not making any of this up.

Something had seemed to be upsetting the woman just prior to him speaking then, as if something was on her mind. Perhaps this place was making her uncomfortable - at least, it seemed that way - but Cecil figured he could ask if she was alright once he had gotten this more problematic situation worked out. Choosing not to waste anymore time, Cecil decided to just come right out and say it.

"I'm fairly certain now that this world isn't Earth... I've no idea if I'm dreaming or not, but everything we have said fails to match up, and neither of us appear to be lying." he said, fairly confident that this woman would understand the implications of him using the word 'Earth' as if it was a name.

Had it not been for the fact that this woman was obviously not human, Cecil might have thought that the idea of her lying to him was more realistic than the conclusion that his mind had now come to about the situation; however, there was also the fact that neither of their eyes or voices had any hint of deception in them. It was almost impossible to believe that they came from the same world, based off their current discussion. Cecil was quite knowledgeable about his world, since he had travelled quite a lot of it using airship before his fall from Baron's favour. This woman's words made it clear that she knew about too many places he had never even vaguely heard of.

Terra Branford

Terra was a bit nervous when the girl had decided not to simply pass by her, but felt relieved by the seemingly unthreatening way she was going about striking up a conversation with her. From what she had just said, this girl was lost -- that made two of them. She recognized this forest - somehow - but overall she had no idea why it felt familiar to her. Thanks to her amnesia, she really had no idea what was going on at all -- Terra was hardly in a position to provide this girl with directions or anything...

Before the girl could finish talking to her though, Terra pushed back against the tree again as she heard a rather loud voice - male from what she could tell, even if it was high-pitched - shouted about having thrown a tree. Was that the notice that had woken her up or something? She never really made much of what it had been, since the sleep she felt like she was coming out of was incredibly heavy to be perfectly honest. Really, she had absolutely no idea what was going on, but the voice startled her either way. The other girl seemed particularly irritated by the other person - whoever they were - but the exact reason was uncertain, given how it might have been due to something about the way they were talking, or the fact that they were apparently tossing trees around in this place. Tossing trees? Could a human even do that? What sort of monster was this young man? Well, 'young man' was naturally assuming the sound of his voice was not misleading. Whatever the truth was, it seemed like this younger girl wanted Terra to come with her to get some answers.

`Use 'that'...? Oh, the sword...` Terra thought, lowering her face slightly at the question. She could not really just explain that she could use magic and that the sword was to help her enhance it, could she? Nothing but problems came up when people found out what she was, at least from what little her memory was telling her.

"I... I don't know..." she responded softly, unable to come up with a way to explain herself that would be believable to anyone who was not already familiar with her, and since she had no real memory of who - if anyone - was familiar with her, she could hardly gauge whether this girl would be such a person... Wait a minute -- 'memory'? That was it! She had a way to explain what she had just said without lying or revealing that she was not normal. "... I have... amnesia..." she continued in her soft voice, making sure to speak up about this detail before the girl thought her initial response was too suspicious or weird. She was carrying a sword, after all -- certainly it would be strange if she did not know how to use it.

ο»Ώ"Well met, Galuf. I hope our travels will be prosperous." Kain said to Galuf, nodding in approval. "Palamecia, yet another name I don't recognize. This is Mist Cave. If you come fromΒ a landΒ foreign enough to someone as well-traveled such as I, It's possible this results from magic." Kain explained to Firion.

"I suspect this happened for a purpose. Three strangers find themselves in a cave, dazed and confused, and two of them claim to come from places they don't recognize. Don't you think is too convenient? I do." Kain said, speculating.

"Look, I'm sure you're shaken, and you've likely separated from those important to you. And we've just met each other. Regardless, I know this cave and this land better than you do." Kain pointed out. "It'd be best we cooperate for now. Come, let us stop standing around and make haste - I will lead the way." Kain said, and started walking.

Jegran
Burmecia

Jegran didn't recognize this place, but he didn't care at all. All he cared about was finding a Warrior of Cosmos to crush, especially that Crystal Bearer boy. "Where are you, you little whelp?" Jegran growled in a low tone, not wanting to catch anyone's attention by shouting. He wanted blood, be he also preferred to keep the tactical advantage, if he could help it.

Jegran noted the ruined architecture; was there some sort of battle or siege here? if only Jegran had been there himself.

Cosmos
Everywhere

Suddenly, a hologram of Cosmos appeared before all the Warriors of Cosmos. "Warriors of the Light..I am the Goddess of harmony, Cosmos. You may find yourselves in places you do not recognize, or places in your world that you weren't at before, this is NOT intentional." Cosmos explained.

"I had hoped to bring you all before me, but it appears your enemies have sabotaged this somehow. You will be attacked by those calling themselves "Warriors of Chaos", Chaos is my mortal enemy and the God of Chaos. In our personal war, Warriors of Cosmos and the Warriors of Chaos must fight." Cosmos explained.

"You have been summoned because you represent the virtues I would need in a Warrior. You must find the crystals which hold some of my power, and when you all do, you will have a chance at finding and defeating Chaos. Be careful my warriors, as your foes are mighty and will do whatever it takes to destroy you." Cosmos said with worry in her voice.

"And that's all I know. Please, do not let evil prosper. Your worlds hang in the balance, my heroes." Cosmos then disappeared.
