@Verse Zero Hmm, good question. I think they have similar views about humans, despite Rowan's wandering off the "path" so to say. Maybe she could've been the one to teach him to control his thirst/better himself as a vampire? Because when he arrived to town, he was feeding on animals out of necessity anyway. I could see a loose mentor/student relationship, if not older sister/little brother. Sets up major disappointment for her to have in him later, when more is discovered haha

Edit: Also I realize one working at a bar and the other at a cafe creates an interesting dynamic/foil. Paints Rowan as sunny and Amelia comparable to the moon, lol. Kinda interesting to me

Indeed, I could see their dynamic being mentor/student, maybe a touch mother/son due to her experience and his relative lacking (compared to her).

That is also a good anecdotal comparison. In a way they are opposites or even representations of differing aspects of the coven as a whole.

Personality:
To most, he will seem like a jokester. The one who keeps everyone's spirits up, never getting angry, an overall okay guy. However, Gabriel is simply tired of life. While he is not suicidal per se, his mind is rattled. He has spent almost all his nights fighting the supernatural, and the drugs have not helped with his sanity. Even outside of his berserker induced rage, he finds himself getting angrier with everything, losing his calm nerve. His mind is a constant battle between fury and still calm, and he struggles to keep his aggressive emotions in check. As such, he has an extreme hatred for any supernatural being. Even if he could break out of his berserker rage to have a conversation with them, you can be assured that Gabriel will spend his time cursing them.
Equipment:

• Skofnung: A greatsword said to be imbued with Hrólf Kraki's twelve berserker bodyguards. Abnormally sharp and sturdy, it is more than capable of combating any denizen of the night.
• Amanita Muscaria: A toxic mushroom used to induce a "berserker" state. While under the influence, Gabriel will be unable to feel pain, and have stamina and strength far greater than an average human. However, his strength and speed will still not up to par with any supernatural being. It is still enough to catch any supernatural off their toes, as he will fight with reckless abandon.

Norse Runes:
These must be drawn on a solid surface, or painted on one's body before any meaningful use can occur

• Rune of Algiz: A simple rune that can cause severe discomfort to any supernatural being when placed in any sort of building. However, if the rune caster invites the person in verbally, the rune will not affect them.
  Runes of Thurisaz: A rune that when placed on a solid surface, will trap any supernatural being with thorned vines for a short time. It can be broken with extreme effort.
• Rune of Ansuz: A rune that allows the caster to detect supernatural beings/magic.
• Rune of Sowilo: Emits a light when casted. Can be used on any surface as well as on the caster's body.
• Rune of Isa: A rune that allows the caster to blast ice from their fingertips, or can dispel a berserker rage prematurely if needed.
• Rune of Perthro: A sacrificial rune. It requires a human/supernatural sacrifice in order to be activated, unknown what it grants the caster.

History:
Gabriel's real name was Adam, his given birth name. Adam was born to a Danish American family, far removed from any pagan rituals of the like. It seemed he would grow up far removed from any sort of magic of supernatural elements. Perhaps Adam would have, had he not run away from home. It was on a whim, like many children do when they say that they're running away from home. Adam found himself cold, hungry, and full of regret in some forest in the midwest. Luckily, he was found by a kind old man named Asger, who lived alone in the deep woods. Adam, still in shock, and with a serious fever, was delirious and was unable to speak for days. Asger decided to give him another name since Adam could not recall his own name. Gabriel.

This old man, sickly and dying, decided to teach Gabriel the ways of the berserker- For Asger was old and brittle, and was no longer fit to fight the supernatural beings he was once tasked with destroying. Asger also sent Gabriel to school, for he wished for Gabriel to have some semblance of a normal life that Asger could not. The life of a true Nordic Beserker left little time for any pleasantries. Asger gave Gabriel his own surname, Petersen.

When Gabriel was sixteen, Asger decided to send him off on a final test. In order to become a true beserker, Gabriel had to fend for himself in the wilderness for a week, with no tools to aid him, only living off of the land, connecting with his animal totem, the bear. Not to mention he was to be given a fatal dose of Amanita Muscaria- He would be hallucinating the entire weak. That is, if the toxins did not kill him.

It was a painful week, but he managed to survive through the constant drug induced beserker rage, and hadn't died of hypothermia, thirst, or hunger. Battered, Gabriel made his way back to Asger's cabin, only to find that the old man had passed away. While Gabriel mourned for a few days, he eventually was able to give Asger a true Nordic funeral, burial by sea.

Gabriel finished his schooling, but as his... nightly obligations left him unable to go to college, he ended up becoming an apprentice to a mechanic, until Gabriel eventually became a mechanic himself. He is currently employed at Billy's Autoshop, usually taking the late morning to afternoon shift. Of course, at nights, Gabriel goes on the hunt for the supernatural.

Other:
Gabriel is somewhat aware of the church hunters, but they have not met, and he looks down upon them. He believes they are too controlled, hindering independent action, which is why Gabriel has made no attempts to make allies with them.
