Sindic 'Barbarian' Proctor

Age:
52

Race:
Turian

Sex:
Male

Biotic:
Negatory

Profession:
Researcher

Personality:
High Medical Research Officer Sindic Proctor holds all forms of life in contempt. Looks down on everyone, even those that are his superiors. His belief that knowledge should come before anything else has left him feeling devoid of empathy or emotion for anyone or anything. Everything is an experiment to him, and all life is just a tool.

A love of inflicting pain earned him the nickname of 'barbarian' by his contemporaries. But for all the naysayers about his methods, they prove true with results. In direct correlation with this, he has become quite wealthy, the Turian government paying him handsomely for conducting research others fear or lack the stomach to engage with. With this money, he buys bodyguards, as he has become paranoid of all those around him. Sindic thinks that everyone below him wants to overthrow him, his equals want him out of the way, and that his superiors see him as a threat. He really does fail to see how anyone can see anyone else as anything but a pawn or a tool for their own gain.

Appearance:
Has a very effeminate look to him, and often gets mistaken for the opposite gender. This is a very big sore point for him, and he will reprimand any who point it out. Walks around with an air of arrogance. Head held high, and sneers down at all. His eyes are always cold and harsh and calculating, trying to assess threats anywhere they may be, and always weighing people up as to how they can help further his goals. Wears bright red markings on his face to try and detract and draw attention away from his more feminine looking cheek plates.

At six foot six, he is just taller than some, and will hold himself in high regard as a result. A slight limp in his left leg proves to be a social sore-point for him. Since he is paranoid, and has a constant fear of attack, he wears heavier armour than someone of his role should, often refusing to take it off for even small amounts of time. His armour has some dried blood stains of various species on it, which he feels makes him more intimidating. For all his arrogance, he is not one for preening, and does not care if blood and viscera come his way. Since he feels he is superior, he doesnt overly care for his appearance. Why should it matter, if they are all below him anyway?

History:
Sindic Proctor comes from a prestigious medical family. From an early age, his father taught him anatomy and how to save a life. Sufficed to say, Sindic found it all rather boring. One day, his father bought home a Pyjak from some Krogan traders as a pet. The father was shocked when he came home from work one day to find that Sindic had carefully and with a surprising amount of skill skinned the creature, and managed to still keep it alive.

In his teen-age years, Sindic found himself spurned by his peers and teachers alike. Lacking in physical capabilities, he buried himself in studies, specifically the anatomy and sub-atomic breakdown of other species. He found great delight in the pain of others, and it only helped to further the void within him and his emotional distance.

Not long out of his education, he found himself working on a Intergalactic Hospital. It was here that he truly honed his skills and understanding around a body. While he saved many lives during his time here, he never took any delight in the action, only the knowledge gleaned from their body. One day, hospital staff found him doing surgery on a comatose Krogan. When confronted about it, Sindic had simply said 'it [the Krogan] wasn't going to wake up anyway. I had made sure of it.' He was promptly thrown out of the Hospital.

After the hospital, he could get no job doing the only thing he knew. That was until he was approached by representatives of the Turian government, asking him to join their Scientific Research Division. They needed someone not afraid to get their hands dirty. Sindic has been working for them ever since. Most of his assignments were off the books, and his discoveries were crucial in furthering understanding of biological composition. His work was used to help ascertain weak points in potential enemies for their soldiers, and any who worked in his lab still say they can hear the screams of the victims of his work.

Age:
35

Race:
Batarian

Sex:
M

Biotic:
Yeah, what of it?

Profession:
Brawler Vanguard: A mix of biotics and punch, the Brawler Vanguard focuses on getting up close and personal with the enemy. Between Biotic Charge and his Blade Armor, the Brawler Vanguard always has the upper hand in close quarters combat.

Personality:
Bralya cares about one thing. Credits. If you're buying, he'll do just about anything, take just about any job. He's confident, perhaps overly so, and generally keeps his cards close to the vest. That isn't to say he’s completely impersonal. Buy a few Batarian Ales for him, and he'll tell war stories that would rival a krogan’s. Probably because he stole them from a krogan.

To say Bralya is morally grey would be kind. There's not much he objects to, other than wasting perfectly good ale. He frowns upon the typical pole-up-the-ass approach of most turians. In fact, he has assisted in several of Proctor’s research projects in one way or another, usually either by holding the patient still or subduing them if they get out of hand. On the battlefield, he tends to taunt his enemy just before he charges in or lashes them closer.

Appearance:
Like most batarians, the defining feature for Bralya is his two pairs of eyes and cartilage ridges. His skin is lighter than many batarians, having a grayish brown hue. He wears polished bladed armor that looks like it would fit with any turian army, and sometimes wears a blue hood, either for fashion, stealth, or warmth. He has several piercings in his ears from his early mercenary days, and carries several scars. I mean, few batarians make it through basic training with blade armor without gaining a handful of scars.

In conversation, Bralya carries himself with an air of arrogance. Despite turians usually exceeding his two-meter tall frame, Bralya tends to overshadow many meeker turians just by sheer force of will. On the battlefield, Bralya moves quickly, using small pushes of his biotics to traverse short distances and his charge to bullrush enemies. His presence is almost a mix between a ghost and a bulldozer. Bralya is hard to pin down as he constantly charges between targets, and harder to kill as his charge bolsters his barriers and his armor slows down incoming damage. He is every human’s worst nightmare.

History:
Bralya grew up on the batarian homeworld of Khar’shan. In his youth, he was a decent kid: studied hard, made his parents proud, got into a fine university. But that wasn't enough for Bralya. He needed danger, adventure. He joined the military, got kicked out of the military, got involved with a local group of thugs, and found himself on the wrong side of the Hegemony. Rather than face the music, Bralya fled Khar’shan and claimed sanctuary in Palaven.

Still sore about the skirmishes on Enael, the turian government agreed to grant asylum under the condition that Bralya aid the turians in their self-defense efforts. Not being one to sit around and let some aliens tell him how to live his life, he did his best to find loopholes and shortcuts, claiming ignorance when Palaven caught him in the act. He joined an all-turian mercenary band for a while, claiming he thought they were an independent militia wing. He helped a turian create bombs to use in a terrorist attack against the Citadel, claiming he never knew what the target was.

Eventually, he came across Proctor, a turian after his own heart. Smart, conniving, and with a seemingly endless supply of cash, Proctor hired him to be a bodyguard several years ago. Apparently the gruesome experiments performed were all sanctioned by the turian government, or at least that is what Bralya chose to believe. Some of the particulars of the science exceeded Bralya’s training (well, most of it), but the exchange piqued his curiosity as well as his need for adventure. Eventually, Bralya would come to help Proctor in his experiments, and the turian became the closest thing to a friend that Bralya had for nearly a decade. But that was likely due to the credits that kept pouring into his bank account.

Talents:
  • Biotic Charge - Smash into a target while encased in this biotic barrier, leveling your opponents. Invulnerable while this power is in effect. Refreshes barriers.
  • Lash - Latch this biotic field onto enemies to jerk them towards you, doing massive damage in the process.
  • Blade Armor - Reinforce armor with razor-sharp blades that damage enemies that melee. Less damage taken. More melee damage dealt.
  • Biotic Dash - Dash a short distance with a biotic blink.

Equipment
  • Batarian Blade Armor - Armor reinforced with razor-sharp blades to keep enemies at bay and augment physical power.
  • Biotic Implant - Augments biotic abilities.
  • Light shotgun - If the dash, charge, punch combo didn't kill ya, how about a shotgun blast to the face?
  • Enforcement Gauntlets - Pack a heavy punch with this gauntlet outfitted with an omni-blade.

Other:
Bralya actually follows a sort of code of honor that he picked up while with several mercenary groups. 1) Never rat out your employer. 2) Never get too attached. 3) Give your employer a chance to counter an offer, potentially at shotgun point. 4) Never turn down free credits.

Lucius Abmius

Age:
23

Race:
Turian

Sex:
Male

Biotic:
N

Profession:
Military Medic

Personality:
Lucius is very much a model Turian, seeing this as the culmination of his service to the Hierarchy, wanting nothing more than to perform properly in his tasks as both a medic and a soldier. He's dutiful to his superiors, properly disciplined to his subordinates, and is calm and collected under pressure. However, his non-service personal skills are somewhat lacking, with natural conversation and small talk being somewhat difficult for him. He does have a few of his own hobbies, however, namely collecting samples of flower-like plants from the worlds he visits, and he enjoys the subject of fauna greatly.

Appearance:
Lucius is a a standard Turian male in most regards, with the greyish-khaki, metallic skin signature to his race, prominent head ridges and spines of a male, and standing tall on the bird-like legs they are accustomed to. Having been born on the Turian homeworld, his face is bare rather than donning any traditional markings of a colony, leaving him open to ridicule from some of the more traditionally-minded Turians. His walk, movements, and body language are very much that of a soldier, uniform and straight in movement and form.

His usual outfit is the red and white uniform of a military medic, crisp, clean and neat across his form, while in combat he wears a similarly-colored set of light combat armor, complete with a specially-fitted helmet.

History:
Lucius was born upon the Turian homeworld, Palaven. He grew up as a respectable member of society, always showing remarkable responsibility for his actions, and always seeking to help those around him. His teenage years saw him build for a career path, initially offering his aid to various civilian relief clinics and other public health facilities, before applying for medical school in the later years, eventually being accepted. He gratefully attended medical school, earning top marks in many of his classes, before his mandatory years of military service came about, and he was drafted into the turian military.

After being drafted, Lucius was trained to operate as a combat medic and field hospital doctor, and after finishing his training, found himself both at the front and the rear of many fights and battles against pirates, criminal organizations, and other disreputable forces. This would give him his first real instances of combat and operating under fire. Lucius' resolve held fast, and he stuck with the military.

Now, Lucius has been called upon to serve against a new threat, a rogue, newly discovered species violating Council law. He has answered the call, and seeks to serve with honor and integrity against this new threat.

Talents:

  • Combat First Aid
  • Military Hospital Experience
  • Training in Heavy Pistols, Submachine Guns, and Light Armor

Equipment

  • Standard-Issue submachine gun and heavy pistol
  • Uniform and Light Combat Armor denoting a military medic
  • Field medical kit, as well as access to the more extensive equipment of field hospitals.

Other:
He keeps a small collection of pressed flowers and flower-like plants from several different worlds, and plans to collect more. He also
