Think of this like how RPGNews does it weekly, but add it daily. This would be useful, because It'll give users hope of GMing their own RP in hopes of getting on the spot and it will be easier to find RPs. What do you guys think? As for the top 10, I mess up I meant monthly not yearly but there should be a top 40

I think daily would be too much work. I think every two weeks might work though...but then again the Guild News is usually happy to accommodate any member requests and shout outs I think.

Though a top 40 for a year or month by rank is a bad idea. It brings back the ghost of Awards that we had a few years back where users and certain GMs were nominated. I think Rps may have been included at one point but I'd advise against ranking or having "top" selections.

If people want more traffic for their RPs, they can talk to the Comrades, or do their own networking, too much outward hype might just result in people getting upset or competitive. Even if it's just monthly, exclude rank, and it may work but daily, would not be upheld routinely for long. That's asking a lot of people who don't GM RPs (Comrades, Mods, whoever ) personally as having been on both sides, I'd say let GMs take control when it comes to getting their RPs "out there" by promoting their own RPs or talking to Comrades for some advertising assistance in a news letter.

The idea has merit, but sking Mahz to do this (which is pretty much what this section is for) is the wrong way to go about it. Something like this should be community driven from the bottom up, not something handed down from the administration. Mahz has a life outside of this website, and whatever work time he can allot to the site would be better served on various upgrades and new features for it. On the other hand, if the Comrades (I'm pretty sure they're still a thing), the new Guild News team (since they already do something like this), or some random assortment of people who volunteer feel like doing the work, this could be a nice resource for both GMs and folks searching for something to join.

Now for other suggestions and critiques. Daily is probably overkill, doing it on intervals of 3 days would be alright if the people responsible for it are very active and willing to do the stuff that often, but I think once a week would likely be the best balance between coverage of new stuff and not overburdening whoever is working on the thing. Also, I'll echo Genkai in saying the top whatever ranking thing is a bad idea that would lead to drama and problems. There are ways to praise cool stuff without causing angst in others, such as doing something like an editor's pick for each update of the list thing to highlight the things that most intrigued the person/people putting the list together. I'd also suggest completely cutting out the roleplays part of the thing, as it would be best to stick to just interest checks thing to keep it focused on a singular purpose rather than trying to cover absolutely everything and thus become an unwieldy mess little better than digging through the interest check sections manually.

So if I wanted to do a weekly notable interest checks and roleplays, I can do that?

Daily, unless it is some automated thing that goes based on simple posting/viewing activity, would be too much work, wethinks.

On a slightly less frequent frequency could work, though. Either as part of the newsletter, or as something independent. In fact, having people working solely on that aspect might make the newsletter even better, wethinks. per today (based on view of the first guildrisen newsletter), that section seemed a little skimpy.

Top 10 notable RP's of the year would seriously favor the few RPs that manage to survive that long. Maybe have it instead be one of these two?
Monthly 10 great RPs
Bimonthly hall of fame

Having such a system to spread info about the greater RPs might also help more RPs reach longer lifetimes. It could also filter a little on the various interests. should not focus solely on one or two types of RPs.

I think a roleplay of the week would be a nice compromise here. While I usually agree with you on such things Jorick, we are differing. I don't see why such a project couldn't be 'rp.' An interest check of the week would be really cool too but I do think there should be something for RPs themselves too. Hey, it might inspire people to go that extra mile in their RPs, and you might see rp quality drastically increase as those who want more traffic start vying to make the weekly list!

Nit to say, of course, that I feel overall rp quality is lacking, mind you--just saying you might see rp quality improve even more if there is a chance they can get heavy traffic!

Alright, I was thinking of having one person for each section (free, casual, advance, 1x1, arena, nation, and tabletop RP) and see which RP and interest check are notable to be the weekly notable. One rule is that you can't add your own RPs (if you're that one person) unless people within your RP vote for it. I'll add more. I might do an application (if needed to).

What do you mean "vote for it"?

You may want to put this in the RP Discussion to get more help and so you can better recruit and organize duties and expectations and ideas.
